  1. Did you run it real wet? I mean real real real real real wet? Unlike ar15 rifles, these large frame need some time and extra lube to brake in. If you drop the bolt into battery, w/o a round, is it hard to pull back the bolt with the charging handle? (No more than it should be?) did you lightly grease the lugs? Did it cycle with the Nosler? Generally I would suggest you brake it in with quality factory ammo, and I'll admit I have no idea what yellow box is
  2. Rail, bcg, raptor, and pig to finish my diplomat upper
  3. If shit goes bad, gold won't be worth a thing. Food, water, ammo, mags, survival gear. Three to five days at most. You can't wander forever. Unless you have to, but that's a different and worse scenario.
  4. They give no accuracy claim, and I doubt they will. Also, in the past they labeled things ar10 when they are DPMS pattern. As always, you get what you pay for! Can't stress that enough. I wouldn't expect 1/2 moa for cheap, it doesn't work that way. Companies spend big dollars in R&D and quality machining equipment, not to mention blanks. There's a reason the big name barrels will offer a guarantee of quality.
  5. I would suggest that if someone really needed it, the Brownells web clips on you tube
  6. Do you know which rifle you are buying? Link it in here and you can get a head start, otherwise we really don't have enough details to help
  7. How much is he charging you to thread it? Shouldn't be more than $100.... And 150 tops for the comp.... Not sure what kind of custom build can be had for $250
  8. That's called riding the handle, and shouldn't be done. The rifles were made and design to slam the bolt home, hence the way the bolt release works.
  9. There's no reason to oil a chamber. You can lightly grease the locking lugs, but that's it.
  10. Ummm, there's no difference in gas tube size, between 5.56 and .308.....unless it's the rifle length has tube from Armalite vs the DPMS rifle length. If also recommend using lr 308 parts or Armalite parts, which is why you were having an issue. There are certain parts that can't just be swapped in and out on the larger platform
  11. Might work as a scout pack, or a one day pack, but I don't think it's big enough for a full on bug out bag. Good price, if it can hold up to some light abuse. This is on my short list of things to acquire as my bug out bag... http://www.eberlestock.com/G4%20Operator.htm It's pricey but proven, and big!
  12. Ain't doing jack shit..... Stupid knee!
  13. Don't be hating! It's an lgs who doesn't do internet sales.... But, if you want to come visit.....
  14. Thinking of going back for more, they are still being reasonable with it too.... $30 a pound, I've gotten it cheaper, but there was more around then. They still had three pounds on the shelf, and maybe more in back?
  15. At what range and like Jon quoted, what kind of gun. Not enough info for any arguement.
  16. Last pieces ordered to finish the upper, a KX 3 and a 9" Rainier Force free float hand guard. Now, if only that stamp would hurry up and arrive...
  17. Placement has 0% repeatability here.... Almost, let me clarify my position. If it's not an immediate kill shot, chances of a bullet following the same exact path as it enters the body are very much slim to none. I doubt you'd be able to say "this guy died of a 22 that entered here and ricochet to here, so it'll do that every time...." Where as at least with a larger caliber, a hit is a hit, and the larger the wound cavity, more guarantee of damage, every time. Just my food for thought.
  18. Funny thing about that rig is.... I count 3 ACOGs, two aimpoints, a Surefire grip and light, and an Ops Inc brake with locking collar (for their suppressor) That's actually some nice shit!
  19. Yeah, I'll take the chance that my bigger holes will stop them, if not physically, then as a mental deterrent to get another round. Also if you are chancing the extremely small chance a 22lr will find the absolute perfect path, especially if your being shot back at, your may want to try your luck in Vegas, cause that is absolutely ridiculous
  20. Fuck yeah!
  21. Aero is good to go with everything I've used and own
  22. Which isn't all that bad in the first place
  23. Hah! Nice Jon! Well failures in the world of putting holes on paper are most likely not all that common, if it is a duty weapon one may want fail safes.
  24. In the neck! Glad to hear this awful chapter has been put behind you
  25. I have harris, but that ggg is a nice piece
