Please explain what specific parts you're talking about, because your advice to this guy just doesn't make sense. Your comments should be clarified before someone else reads it, finds some generic parts you're talking about, installs them... and we're diagnosing some other problem they are having, after that.

Not really, man - the real fix is to break it in with a couple hundred rounds of .308 Winchester commercial off-the-shelf ammo, with the upper receiver wet with lube, and get the function of the rifle down. After that, move to some military 7.62x51 ammo, and have at it. These big fuckers need to be broken in, and parts meshed. Bearing surfaces on the BCG, inside the upper receiver, bolt lugs-to-barrel extension - all that stuff needs to be properly pounded into place, whilst wet with lube. Hell, even magazines need to be broken in - don't go load your brand new 20-rd mag with 20 rounds, and expect perfection. Load light in the mags, break those bastards in, too. These things ain't AR-15s...

I just don't wanna starting seeing a bunch of bull$hit from someone quoting that damn article, and talking about their .22LR CCW piece, saying it's just as effective as someone carrying a .45 ACP, Border Patrol .40, or a .460 S&W Mag, or a Howitzer... :ugone2far: EDIT - Had to go back and edit this one to make sure "bull$hit" showed up... <lmao>

I have 1/2 dozen of the VooDoo cases - you'll like them. Pelican cases can't be beat for durability and sealing, and the Plano AW case is a close runner-up for it. The Plano might not be crush-proof, but it is damn tough and does seal really well. It doesn't have a pressure relief valve like the Pelican cases do, but it's got a screw that you turn out to release pressure. The Plano AW cases are very good cases, and less than 1/2 of what you'd pay for the Pelican versions.

Check with scope cap manufacturers and see if you can find it listed. Search out the Butler Creek info and see if they have it listed. EDIT - Can't find any exact dimensions, but here's one mounted in a set of Burris Signature Zee rings, high-size. That at least gives you a known height to hit. I've used ALOT of Aero Precision receivers for 5.56 builds. I'd have to count, but probably 10 of their sets. Never had an issue with any of them, and the machining is perfect.

Only one out there that will function with 308 upper receivers. I run the MP BAD levers on several 5.56 rifles. If I had the need on a .308, I wouldn't hesitate to get this one.
