  1. I got REALLY lucky during that get-off - when I was flying through the air, prior to impact and tumble, I made myself into the tiniest little ball I could, and prepared for the most perfect PLF I'd ever make in my life. The whole time (seemed like an eternity of flying), the ONLY thing that was going through my mind was, "FCUK!!! THIS CAST WILL BE ON HERE FOR TWO MONTHS AT LEAST!!!" <laughs> Only thing that happened - tiny little scrape on my elbow, and it SPLIT my chest protector from top to bottom, right up the middle... Glad I had it on...
  2. Mike, found it - hit it up, man! http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ssa-6-8-spc-110gr-sierra-pro-hunter-20rds.html
  3. Too many agencies now think that they "need" their own law enforcement branch...
  4. Just stay outta El Mirage, guys. <dontknow>
  5. Rainier Arms has a good one, slightly over $100 right now. GTS/Denny's Guns makes it for them, and brands theirs the Thunderbolt.
  6. A'ight - vid is up. This was THE first time I'd ever ridden this track, so it took a few laps to get the feel of it. They released the sportbikes, let them almost make one full lap, then released us out in front of them. The sportbike guys had never ridden with some idiots on racequads before, so they thought they were going out a lap ahead to kinda "deconflict" everything, so we wouldn't "be in their way..." The track operator knew exactly what he was doing - he was giving them a headstart... <lmao> We start picking off the sportbike riders around the 3 minute mark - pass 'em like they're going backwards. I eat $hit at the 9 minute mark... that damn puddle on the inside of that turn just kept getting bigger... watch it until the end, though... <laughs>
  7. Here's the origins of what SIG has released - this is how it started: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_122/592191_New_Stabilizing_Brace_for_AR15_Pistol_SB15.html
  8. I JUST had that happen on my .223 Rem set - blamed it on the step-son! <lmao> What I noticed on mine - the boy was going to town, working brass - ALOT of brass. every once in awhile, you have to take that die apart and make sure that expander ball doesnt loosen up - once it does, the decap pin gets a little sideways in a case, and that is what bends the threaded rod. Now, obviously, the boy wasn't checking for any of that... <laughs> That's the only thing I've ever seen that'll bend that rod, brother. Hit it once in awhile and make sure it's still on there tight.
  9. ^^^ One of these days, I'll have that RCBS version. Damn things cost a little bit.
  10. They break, after awhile. That's why the pins come in 5-packs or 6-packs when you get replacements. Wasn't that piece of brass that did it - just overall use, man. Resizing/depriming at the same time is fine to do.
  11. That Armalite you posted is a GREAT deal! I would NOT pass that one up, man...
  12. Same here, with my Nemo barrel - nitrided, 16", carbine gas. I've picked up some more loaded ammo to try out in it, of varying weights. Right now, I don't have enough ammo through it to fairly judge it, but it seems like it'll be a good barrel.
  13. Peter, listen here - THIS is sound advice. DO NOT listen to THAT GUY ^^^... DO NOT. <lmao>
  14. It's ALL legal in AZ, men. I'm just sayin'... Consider that when you're finally fed up with the $hit in your state. <thumbsup>
  15. Saw that sucker a few weeks ago - DAMN slick.
  16. Mike, Cabela's has been carrying more SSA loaded ammo lately - I haven't seen much of it in there in the past, but it's there now. <thumbsup>
  17. Probably won't line up, man. Might not be off by much, but you'd have a hell of a time trying to see the difference - and zero those sights.
  18. Hadn't heard about those guys until now. Worth looking into.
  19. Silver State Armory, brother?...
  20. A 14.5" 308 barrel will be EASY to get to the legal 16", with a pinned muzzle device. EASY. Most 308 muzzle devices are long as hell, anyway. Making a legal 14.5" pinned setup wouldn't take too long at all - and it's not illegal to own a barrel that's under 16".
  21. Mine came unmounted, for sure. Some trackworker picked it up and brought it over to me. It's pretty funny when he had it in his hand, looked down and realized it was still on, then threw some kinda Derp laugh into the camera... <lmao> EDIT - HAHA! Found the vid!!! Uploading it now - might take about 17 days to do it, but I'll link it in here when it's up.
  22. You've got the rifling to shoot 168s and 175s to 1000 yards. Don't expect mil-surp 147-grainers to get that far, with great regularity.
  23. What is the max effective range that you think you'll need to engage a target at?
  24. This is a good vid - this girl is smart. Wise words, she speaks. <thumbsup>
