  1. Remington 700. Period. Especially since you made this comment: Nothing else out there has the aftermarket support for it like the Rem 700 does. Here's a new Rem 700 WITH a scope, $450.00. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Remington-ADL-Scope-Rifle-Combo/1368627.uts
  2. Fuk that - if convicted felon wants to vote, he can do what every other convicted felon that wanted to vote goes through - make YOUR OWN packet and submit YOUR OWN presidential pardon request. That horse$hit is an INDIVIDUAL REQUEST and an INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY. It's none of the federal govt's fukkin business to try to get that for you. EDIT FOR: My "horse$hit" got edited into "horse poopy," and that wasn't gonna fly... Not tonight... :bat:
  3. That's what I was thinking when I read the OP's stuff - even though the barrel maker might not know what the fuk he's talking about... <dontknow>
  4. It seems I'll be testing out a carbine-gas 14.5" 300BLK barrel soon. <thumbsup>

  6. Fast and Furious defendant gets 30 years in border agent's killing Published February 10, 2014Associated Press TUCSON – A man convicted in the shooting death of a federal Border Patrol agent during a firefight that revealed the government's botched gun-smuggling investigation known as Operation Fast and Furious was sentenced Monday to 30 years in prison. Manuel Osorio-Arellanes, who is from El Fuerte in the Mexican state of Sinaloa, is the only person to be convicted in the Dec. 14, 2010, shooting death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry near the Arizona-Mexico border. U.S. District Court judge David C. Bury handed down the sentence, 360 months with credit for time served. The shootout erupted just north of the Arizona border city of Nogales as Osorio-Arellanes and four other men who are accused of sneaking into the country to rob marijuana smugglers approached Terry and three other agents who were targeting such rip-off crews. Osorio-Arellanes was wounded in the shootout and was the only person arrested at the scene. Four other alleged rip-off crew members fled to Mexico. Two of the four are now in Mexican custody, while two others remain fugitives. Osorio-Arellanes maintains he was not the shooter who killed Terry, and prosecutors agree that evidence supports his claim. Still, they say he is liable because he was a voluntary participant in the rip-off crew. Two rifles bought by a gun-smuggling ring that was being monitored in the Fast and Furious investigation were found at the scene of the firefight, though authorities have declined to say whether the murder weapon in Terry's death was linked to a purchase from the investigation. Federal authorities who conducted Fast and Furious have faced criticism for allowing suspected straw gun buyers for a smuggling ring to walk away from gun shops in Arizona with weapons, rather than arrest them and seize the guns. Agents allowed the purchase of 2,000 guns, but they then lost track of more than 1,400 of them. Some of the guns purchased illegally with the government's knowledge were later found at crime scenes in Mexico and the United States. The guilty plea by Osorio-Arellanes in October 2012 marked the biggest conviction to date in a case that embarrassed the federal government and prompted a series of congressional investigations. Members of the gun-smuggling ring that was being monitored in the Fast and Furious investigation have pleaded guilty to federal charges. Prosecutors had recommended a 30-year sentence for Osorio-Arellanes.
  7. Shift Angle Sensor will eventually get you on that one - it gets everyone sooner or later. I'm just sayin'...
  8. On that rig, you can almost take care of heavy duty clutching yourself - about all it takes is different shift weights in the primary clutch (3 of them in there) and a different spring in the secondary clutch. Some guys change the ramp profile of the helix in the secondary, but that's not as important as the shift weights and springing. EPI sells all the parts. You'll need a special tool, or a custom-made tool to change the spring in the secondary - you let that nut loose without those two sheaves being compressed, and that biotch will come apart and take your head off.
  9. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Do NOT look at that place. For anything. Here's just a Google runthrough on Blackthorne/Vulcan/Hesse... https://www.google.com/#q=blackthorne+vulcan+hesse Don't even buy something from that place, if it's for your worst enemy. That place is a steaming pile of $hit.
  10. Half that. 40mm objective. Centerline of that, which you sight through, is 20mm up from the bottom of the scope. You want the scope as close to the top of the rifle as possible. Otherwise, you're losing range by way of Height-Over-Bore issues. Your 1.5" centerline mount is gonna be WAY too high, man.
  11. I kinda had a feeling that would be a good loading to work with. Especially when browsing available projos. I honestly looked at what was available for a couple weeks, thinking "NOTHING here that I can use for the BLK, Damnit!!!" Last time over there, they still had boxes upon boxes of the Barnes 110 black tip, AND the PMW Arms 220 subs. Slow though I may be, that light finally went on - and I went back and looked at all the 150s sitting there. I'll start on that rather quickly, probably have some loaded up this coming weekend.
  12. That's one damn fine weapon, Jim!!! Fantastic job on it. <thumbsup>
  13. Even when you need to kick me in the nutz and straighten me out!... :stfu2: <laughs>
  14. SS, check this out... What projo(s) do .308 AR shooters look for? 168s and 175s, sometimes 165s... What projos do 300BLK shooters look for? The light stuff in 110, 115, 125gr, plus the heavies, 200~220... Who out there is looking for any 150s? ME. And they're everywhere. I shot the 220 subs today - disappointing. Now, looking at that CMMG info a few posts up, it matched my barrel exactly. I have the 16" carbine gas. Should work with 220gr Sub suppressed (not tested), supersonic unsuppressed (passed that with flying colors), and supersonic suppressed - didn't test that either, but I'm positive it'll cycle that with even more pressure... Now, it's "not recommended" to shoot the 220 subs unsuppressed, with the carbine gas system - it failed that miserable. Not from an accuracy standpoint - it was ripping up the 50-yard target I was going at. However, it shot the first two rounds, didn't chamber the third. Had to hand-cycle it. And the 4th was hand-cycle. Every round was hand cycle... after it fed the first time. Not enough pressure in my Nemo 16" carbine-gas barrel to cycle the 220s unsuppressed. That chart nailed that one. I'll be loading up some 150s shortly - they'll still be supersonic. <thumbsup>
  15. DAMN! You GOT me, brother - I completely forgot about the pattern on the Dane Armory lowers, no kidding. You DO have a DPMS-based 308. My apologies for heckling you like that. :-[ Okay, back to my normal self now... :fawkdance:
  16. I'd like to see a video demonstration of some Mobil 1 in a spray bottle. Seems to be to thick to "spray" from a bottle. Maybe not, though. Could you put up a short vid of that?
  17. That stuff is kinda new to the lineup - the AR series dies. The ones that come in the black case. That's what the 300 BLK set is that I just picked up. <thumbsup> The bullet seater is also the crimp, and once set up right, you do both at the same time. I'll like this.
  18. Here's an easier piece of data to understand it all. This was developed by CMMG shortly after 300 BLK was announced (and when CMMG released barrels). Makes sense this way... I'll let you know about one piece of that puzzle after tomorrow - I'm taking out the 16" carbine gas 300 and shooting 220gr subs. Says "acceptable" in that chart, so we'll see.
  19. Here's some very good info on it, from all aspects. Plus some 750 meter shots on steel from a 300BLK SBR.
  20. Lesson 65b, man... <lmao> <laughs>
  21. You're making excuses and telling stories, brother - you don't even have a DPMS-based 308... <lmao>
  22. Can you get a pic of that spring, next to a ruler or tape measure? Hard to tell what it really is, could even be a front sight post spring...
  23. This dude is getting ready to "be one with the ice," and shatter the hell out of his left collarbone...
  24. Those are good tires, brother - when it's time for the belt, don't go OEM Polaris. Look at the EPI Severe Duty belts instead. Hell of alot tougher than the OEM belt. http://www.erlandsonperformance.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=EPI&Category_Code=beltatv
