Jus the simple fact that we have SOOOO many people in this country on this system - it's sickening. Sure, some people need it, and couldn't get by without it. Others, though... Get a fcukin job somewhere instead of sitting on your fat ass, provide for your own family, and quit trying to suck the government tit. Black Friday comes early as computer glitches cause welfare benefits frenzy Published October 14, 2013FoxNews.com In some Walmart stores, customers emptied shelves like it was Black Friday, while in others, no one could buy anything -- all thanks to a weekend of glitches with the nation's welfare system. Problems involving Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards, the government payments to the poor that are administered by states with the help of private companies, plagued at least 17 states Saturday and Sunday, creating retail riots. At Louisiana stores in Springhill and Mansfield, cards registered no spending limits, prompting recipients to go on buying binges. "It was worse than any Black Friday,” Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd told local station KSLA-TV. Customers said shelves were picked clean in a mob scene that left employees rattled. Walmart spokeswoman Kayla Whaling told the station the company made a conscious decision to keep ringing up goods rather than to cut people off. "We did make the decision to continue to accept EBT cards (and purchases on WIC and SNAP) during the outage so that they could get food for their families," she said. But when order was restored and the cards began reading properly, it became clear that some customers were out to take advantage of the taxpayer-funded program. One woman had $700 worth of merchandise in her cart and an EBT card with a balance of just 49 cents. The glitches, which were apparently triggered by a a system failure at Xerox, which handles processing for many states, left other users unable to buy anything. At a Mississippi Walmart, customers rioted and even left the store with groceries without paying after they were unable to use their food stamp cards on Saturday, according to the Clarion-Ledger. The mini riot happened at the Walmart in Philadelphia, Miss. Shortly thereafter, managers decided to temporarily close the store. “For the safety of our customers we did make a management decision to close the store," Whaling said of the Mississippi incident. "We’re looking into everything; looking at surveillance video and working with the local police.” While Walmart, as the nation's biggest retailer and grocer, was affected most, the glitch hampered customers at other stores, as well. In Massachusetts, nearly 1 million EBT card users were unable to access the SNAP food program or withdraw cash, said Matthew Kitsos, spokesman with the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance. “We didn’t have answers for them, except for that there were problems in the state,” the manager of a Market Basket in Somerville, who asked that his name not be used, told the Boston Herald. “A lot of people are depending on them. They have kids; they depend on that money.” Xerox spokeswoman Karen Arena told USA Today that some Electronic Benefits Transfer systems were experiencing connectivity issues after a routine test of a backup system at a location in the Midwest caused an outage. U.S. Department of Agriculture spokeswoman Courtney Rowe underscored that the outage was not related to the federal government shutdown. Xerox runs EBT card systems for 17 states. All were affected by the outage. Reports surfaced around 9 a.m. Saturday that customers' EBT cards were not working in stores. Other affected states included Alabama, California, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.

Not what I'd expect from them, based on their reputation. I know it can't be explained away as anything after Sandy Hook, based on it taking damn near two years. That just doesn't wash. You, very commendably, have the patience of a saint, Matt. You're one hell of a person. <thumbsup> I'da been camping out in some dude's refrigerator well before that, waiting for him to come down for a midnight snack... <dontknow>

Hell yeah, they sent you a nice one. That's a very nice rig for the Service Grade. I've seen some very, very nice Rack Grade rifles, too, considering they're not supposed to be nice. That's a good one, Jgun. <thumbsup>

I'd like to know what led to this one - OP, still got the brass?
-
That all depends on the compatibility of the parts selected. A large amount of us here build/built our own, and the run flawlessly.

Run the numbers on the listed weight above, and you should be pretty close to the accurate weight. -
None of those. You're not comparing Apples to Oranges here. It's more like comparing Apples to Hammers. Two completely, completely different designs. Just because an AK is piston operated doesn't mean that everything piston operated has the same accuracy. The common AR, FN/FAL, G3, M110, AK, etc, are not equally accurate just because they can all fire a .30 caliber bullet. They're different designs.

Initially, yes. In the future? They don't make many 308AR parts, so they probably won't do a FF rail, either. I doubt you'd ever see a BCM 308 FF setup. -
Yeah, brother - just like you're doing on the seating die now, to seat the bullet. Run it down until it just kisses the case neck, lock it down, adjust the OAL at the top, lock it down, seat bullets all day long. Running the taper crimp on them is a separate process (or another seating die in a progressive press). Run the die down until it kisses the case neck, run it down another 1/8 turn, test crimp one. If you like it, lock it down, run the top in until it touches your loaded bullet, lock that one down. Taper crimp all day long. If you didn't think it was enough crimp at 1/8 additional turn, run it down a little more, test crimp one until you're happy with it, and drive on the rest of the day. That's only on the Full Length die sets, brother - I'm not sure on the other RCBS seating dies. <thumbsup>

I love that rifle... :love4:

I can't imagine what that thing is throwin' down with a twin turbo setup. Holy balls. Greg, that thing is sah-weet!

Damn, you clearly said BADASS ambi safety, and I was still thinking MagPul BAD lever. I'm a dumbass. If a standard safety works in something, any variation of the BADASS safety should work, also.

That's something that actually needs to be machined in the upper receiver, man, not the lower. Interference is in the upper.

That's a nice setup, micro!

Published October 09, 2013 FoxNews.com The man drew the gun several times on the crowded San Francisco commuter train, with surveillance video showing him pointing it across the aisle without anyone noticing and then putting it back against his side, according to authorities. The other passengers were so absorbed in their phones and tablets they didn't notice the gunman until he randomly shot and killed a university student, authorities said. Before that moment, footage showed the man pull out the .45-caliber pistol and once wipe his nose with the hand holding the weapon, authorities told the San Francisco Chronicle in a story on Monday. "These weren't concealed movements -- the gun is very clear," District Attorney George Gascon said. "These people are in very close proximity with him, and nobody sees this. They're just so engrossed, texting and reading and whatnot. They're completely oblivious of their surroundings." Authorities declined a request by The Associated Press for the surveillance footage, citing an ongoing investigation. San Francisco police officials say people who pay too much attention to digital technology are also vulnerable to theft. "Oftentimes when you interview people who get their phones stolen, when you ask them to describe where the person came from, what he was wearing, they have no idea," said police Chief Greg Suhr. Nikhom Thephakaysone, 30, has pleaded not guilty to charges including murder in the Sept. 23 attack on Justin Valdez, 20, a student at San Francisco State University who was shot in the back of the head as he left the train. Thephakaysone also has been charged with assault with a semi-automatic handgun. Prosecutors said he stuck a handgun in another man's back earlier the same night he shot Valdez as he looked for a victim. He did not pull the trigger and went on the hunt again for a victim for more than an hour, at one point waving a gun outside a Thai restaurant, Assistant District Attorney Scot Clark has said. He was also charged with illegally possessing an assault weapon after police said they seized two such rifles, combat knives and razors at his home. Police said he was carrying $20,000 in cash when he was arrested.

Had a riot out there - original plan was to meet my old parts manager out there, so his step-son could shoot. Kid was turning 18, and had never shot anything before. We cooked up that plan, and it was a coincidence that Larry was in town the same weekend. Met Larry on Saturday at Bass Pro in Phx, then again Sunday for some shooting. Larry, the highlight of the day wasn't the 18-year old's smile from shooting - it was your grandson! That boy had a grin on his face, bigtime... <thumbsup> I probably cost Larry some money on this trip, too - He got to test out the Geissele Hi-Speed DMR trigger in the Mk12, and I think he liked it. <laughs> He also got to test out the AR45, and I think he liked that, too... <lmao>
