Driving on my way to drop my boy off at daycare, then hit PT - when the news of the first one hit. Got to PT, told my guys that something was seriously wrong, go home, get into uniform and get back as fast as you can - then the second one hit. Didn't have a good feeling about it, when the first one was hit.

That's very damn cool!

A big Hell Yeah! to that one! <thumbsup>

I think I got your tropical storm, man - more rain in the last two days than a desert gets in a whole year. The NWS Flood Warnings were actually real this time. I went to the garage and dug out the dive gear.

Now hold on, here. When did you build a 300BLK? And, more importantly, where are the pics of said beast? Your work is making me nuts, too, brother - I miss you, in a Bro-Mance kinda way... <dontknow> :))
-
You guys are a Bunch O' Bastages, that's what you all are... :fawkdance: Dirk, can't wait to get out there, brother!!! :happydrunks:

So let me tell you a little story about 300 BLK

Mine or Rob's, Brother Mike? I'm running a .30 Cal Spike's DynaComp on the end of mine. My whole topend will be PRI parts, and the only one in that picture so far is the flip-up front sight. I still need the free float rail, upper rail, rear sight, BCG, Gunfighter charging handle, Leopold 1-4 scope and Warne rings for it. I'm well over a grand away from finishing that thing... Well over... :-[ -

I need to finish my 300BLK so damn bad. I already have several boxes of 125gr Remmy Premier Match to run through it. Killin' me! -
^^^ With that, go one more step. Remove the bolt from the bolt carrier, and slide the carrier into the upper receiver. If it doesn't go all the way forward, it's binding on the gas tube, for whatever reason.
-
Yep, Armalite AR-10 Carbine buffers come out to the exact same length as standard AR-15 Carbine buffers. Longer AR-10 bolt carrier needs more room in the receiver extension, so Armalite uses a longer receiver extension. DPMS-based guns use a shorter buffer instead, with the AR-15-length carbine receiver extension.
-
Hell, I even found CCI Standard 22LR ammo - at Wal-Mart - today! Couldn't believe it!
-
Internal depth is what matters here. The AR-15 part is 7" internal depth. The Armalite AR-10 carbine receiver extension is 7 3/4" internal depth.
-
Jon, that's sweet!!!

Bullschit. From my perspective anyway. You know my perspective... C:-)

You gotta list your specific parts, brother. What receiver extension (buffer tube), what buffer, what buffer spring, etc. Armalite AR-10 Carbine Receiver Extensions (buffer tubes) are longer than standard AR-15 carbine receiver extensions. That's a cause of a lot of hangup, right there, when just getting parts and assembling them. If it's not a collapsible stock setup, but a fixed stock setup, then there are other issues to figure out. Post the specs/details on the parts used, and we'll go from there. <thumbsup>

I know it! Those are some damn nice rifles, brother! <thumbsup> <laughs> :happydrunks:

Colt Defense Announces Senior Management Change
98Z5V replied to mrraley's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
I see one thing that stands out in that article - Dennis has 27 years of experience in the firearms industry and has achieved considerable success in his stewardship of New Colt Holding Corp.'s growth in the commercial firearms market. They've been engrossed in the military market for so long, and so deep, and all that's changing now. They NEED to grow in the civilian market. A couple speculations, on my part - 1. The "old leadership" wanted to move out of CT based on recent events, and company higher-ups didn't want that, so the "old leadership" was canned, or... 2. The "old leadership" DID NOT want to move out of CT, and were canned, so "new leadership" can make that decision. And get them out. It's gotta be one of those two things, when the boiling water settles. Business Week info on "New Colt" : http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=165444 -
That's a loooong case, brother. That would have to be built off a 338 LM lower and upper. Buy a 338 LM Noreen. Get a bolt custom made. Get a barrel custom made. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ :-[

In reference to the topic, I Open Carry and CC - point is, I almost always carry. Nowhere prohibited, hence the "almost." There are times for both, when they have their purpose, but I conceal more than open. I'm not worried about OC and someone taking my pistol. What Jon said rings true - Train, Train, Train. That's more than firearms training, but it needs to be religious with the firearms, if you carry them. If you open carry, you may need more than just firearms training, depending on your area. I've been involved in martial arts since I was a young teenager, combined with some tricky military-sourced and private-funded sourced combatives since 1990. I think about someone trying to get my gun everytime I'm out - size up every single person you encounter, everytime you encounter someone. However, I'm not too worried about someone getting my gun, anytime I'm out.

Hey, I neglected to update you guys. I told ya last weekend was "Stainless Steel Barrel Day" at the CG range, but didn't provide anymore details than that. I took out all the rifles with SS barrels (duh...) plus the AR45. So, with me went the 308AR (Fulton 18.5" SS barrel), the Woody (Wilson Arms 20" SS barrel), the Mk12 (Wilson Arms 18" SS barrel), and the 16" precision gun (Spike's billet build with 16" midlength Wilson Arms SS barrel). And the AR45. Here be the boys: The Little Woman working over the Woody: I must say, she handles the Woody very, very well... <dontknow> :)) Drew, you remember the Mk12 Mod 0 that I built from the Noveske FFL Chainsaw set, don't you? It's this one... >:D Anyway, great day at the range. By the way, those little orange rubber targets - the ones that eat bullets - those things are a riot! Throw them out on the ground, shoot the hell out of them as they bounce away from you. Unreal fun...

Hey, you guys are jumping the gun here. Magwa hunts all kinds of things. And he is successful. Very successful. I, on the other hand, get hunted by things. I also am successful - With pain. I can endure a schitload of pain. I will beat the animal kingdom into submission, one way or another... <thumbsup>

That beast should still be threaded the same as other .308 Win barrels, so just look for anything that works on those. Hint... AAC Brakeout suppressor mount.
