  1. I know it! Those are some damn nice rifles, brother! <thumbsup> <laughs> :happydrunks:
  2. I see one thing that stands out in that article - Dennis has 27 years of experience in the firearms industry and has achieved considerable success in his stewardship of New Colt Holding Corp.'s growth in the commercial firearms market. They've been engrossed in the military market for so long, and so deep, and all that's changing now. They NEED to grow in the civilian market. A couple speculations, on my part - 1. The "old leadership" wanted to move out of CT based on recent events, and company higher-ups didn't want that, so the "old leadership" was canned, or... 2. The "old leadership" DID NOT want to move out of CT, and were canned, so "new leadership" can make that decision. And get them out. It's gotta be one of those two things, when the boiling water settles. Business Week info on "New Colt" : http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=165444
  3. That's a loooong case, brother. That would have to be built off a 338 LM lower and upper. Buy a 338 LM Noreen. Get a bolt custom made. Get a barrel custom made. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ :-[
  4. In reference to the topic, I Open Carry and CC - point is, I almost always carry. Nowhere prohibited, hence the "almost." There are times for both, when they have their purpose, but I conceal more than open. I'm not worried about OC and someone taking my pistol. What Jon said rings true - Train, Train, Train. That's more than firearms training, but it needs to be religious with the firearms, if you carry them. If you open carry, you may need more than just firearms training, depending on your area. I've been involved in martial arts since I was a young teenager, combined with some tricky military-sourced and private-funded sourced combatives since 1990. I think about someone trying to get my gun everytime I'm out - size up every single person you encounter, everytime you encounter someone. However, I'm not too worried about someone getting my gun, anytime I'm out.
  5. Hey, I neglected to update you guys. I told ya last weekend was "Stainless Steel Barrel Day" at the CG range, but didn't provide anymore details than that. I took out all the rifles with SS barrels (duh...) plus the AR45. So, with me went the 308AR (Fulton 18.5" SS barrel), the Woody (Wilson Arms 20" SS barrel), the Mk12 (Wilson Arms 18" SS barrel), and the 16" precision gun (Spike's billet build with 16" midlength Wilson Arms SS barrel). And the AR45. Here be the boys: The Little Woman working over the Woody: I must say, she handles the Woody very, very well... <dontknow> :)) Drew, you remember the Mk12 Mod 0 that I built from the Noveske FFL Chainsaw set, don't you? It's this one... >:D Anyway, great day at the range. By the way, those little orange rubber targets - the ones that eat bullets - those things are a riot! Throw them out on the ground, shoot the hell out of them as they bounce away from you. Unreal fun...
  6. Hey, you guys are jumping the gun here. Magwa hunts all kinds of things. And he is successful. Very successful. I, on the other hand, get hunted by things. I also am successful - With pain. I can endure a schitload of pain. I will beat the animal kingdom into submission, one way or another... <thumbsup>
  7. That beast should still be threaded the same as other .308 Win barrels, so just look for anything that works on those. Hint... AAC Brakeout suppressor mount.
  8. Doublestar is a good company, man. That's a nice looking pistol barrel, but you don't really need the heavy barrel contour on something so short. That A1 profile would do you fine, too. They're both the same price. Bravo Company has their hammer forged 11.5" barrel in stock for $299 right now. On my 11.5" pistol build, I used the BCM standard barrel, which has performed excellently thus far.

    Xds 45&9 recall?!

Schit - my .45 is in that range. Wonder how they're gonna like the PRP parts that are in it, when it shows up at their factory?...
  10. Okay, with more details comes more details... There's a version 1 and a version 2, on the Redi-Mags. Version 1 drops both mags when you hit the mag release on the rifle. Version 2 has it's own mag release. If you'll be hunting for one that's used, you might run across a Version 1 somewhere - just something to be aware of and ask the seller about. My preference is for the Version 2, QA, but dropping both mags at the same time might be desirable, if that's what you're after.
  11. Get with Roger @ Battle Arms and get the BAD-DBM coming - you will love it. <thumbsup> Write-up is in here:
  12. That torque is ungodly! That's not a curve - it's FLAT! Nothing lower than 878lb/ft!!! :ugone2far:
  13. Looks good. Geissele trigger. If you're hesitant, just get the SSA-E, which is a non-adjustable trigger on the user level. If you like it, and want to upgrade down the road, then you could spend the money on one of the Hi-Speed models (adjustable by the user). Looks like you've got receivers covered, a barrel, bolt, and gas system. What are you planning for the rest of the rifle? Stock, grip, back up sights (if any), primary optic, etc?...
  14. Damn, that thing is light!...
  15. Mike, if he doesn't come up with his, I've got one right here in front of me. Stock body, buttplate and spacer. No receiver extension, spring, buffer or A2 stock screw, though. Whilst on the hunt for the Redi-Mag, make sure you hunt for the QA version (quick attach). Otherwise, you have to remove the trigger guard to install. The original non-QA version was made for the mil trigger guard that swings out of the way...
  16. True dat! I need to pick up some more 7-rounders. Only have two right now.
  17. Ya know, with friends like us...
  18. Sad state of affairs when punkass kids don't have the respect for a veteran that they should. Little fcukers don't understand that they might not even be on this planet in the first place if it wasn't for his actions. Or, they might have been speaking Japanese, German, etc. The Battle of Okinawa was heinous. Lots of 7th Infantry Division history with that one.
  19. Crank up the boost! Scary, but it looks like it's built right. If the bottom end is tough, it can handle it. That'll get that extra 300hp he's looking for.
  20. Keepshooting.com, my brother. <thumbsup>
  21. DAMN! Another Double-Tap!
  22. I can't believe the guys are whining about that WSM, brother. I like that rig. <thumbsup> Today will be "Stainless Steel Barrel Day." I'm taking all the ARs with SS barrels out, plus the AR45, and a couple 22s. I'll get details up later, once I get back.
  23. NICE find, brother! I just finished modifying 10 Uzi mags, and was going to put up a thread about it. I'll get to that sometime this weekend.
  24. There's one in the Gun Room at Cabela's right now - it's only $11k, brother.
  25. I'll get into a good dune-eatin' story in a bit. Several, actually. Doesn't matter how you slice it, it's still gonna taste like schit... <thumbsup> P.S. You missed me, Drew, and you know it... :))
