^^^ <laughs> <lmao> Damn Brass Thieves... ;D Honestly, it's a new gas gun. There's nothing wrong with that brass, the ejector swipes, or maybe a raised lip on the rim. The only thing that raised lip on the rim will tell you is that your extractor is working, and you might have a rough chamber - on a new barrel. It'll work in, or it won't. If it doesn't, after a couple hundred rounds, then the chamber needs a slight polish in it. You're gonna have ejector swipes on semi-auto gas guns. That's just how it is - that ejector will put a mark on your brass. <thumbsup> Don't try to diagnose something that's not there - shoot it in, and see what's going on afterwards, down the road.

The DPMS-version of the MRF-308 comes with a barrel nut, which you can install with a LARGE crescent wrench - it's got two wrench flats on it. No crazy tools required. It's basically an Armalite barrel nut, in dimensions, but threaded for a DPMS upper receiver. You'll need to grind a little on it, to clear the gas tube - you'll see when you get it. When you get the Armalite version of the MRF-308, you only get the rail, and it mounts to the stock Armalite barrel nut.

Here's the original thread on these little beauties - many detailed pics of the smaller parts in here: http://308ar.com/forum/308ar-parts/law-tactical-folding-stock-adaptor/

You'll need to get a few hundred rounds downrange before the issue shows up - if it even does. They might have fixed it, and it was bad machining on their part that caused it. They denied that, but it was pretty evident once it was all figured out. If you DO have the problem, there's an easy cure for it. <thumbsup> If you notice the edges of your buffer getting chewed up, you need to post up about that pretty quick.

Well, more got "shipping fucked" in this quick-build. I ordered the barrel and rail the night of the 16th - Sunday night. America's Greatest Gun Salesman hadn't even been on TV yet, spewing his bullpoopy. Fukstein hadn't made her speech yet, either. Geissele had the rail packaged and picked up on Monday (UPS). Bravo Company had the barrel packaged and picked up Monday (UPS). Monday morning, before work, DSG Arms had a shipping notification to me for all the small parts. That package was "accepted" by USPS... Tuesday, I ordered mags and a VLTOR light mount from DSG, and THAT was "crazy day..." DSG's site was down ("crashed from overload" is a better term...) on Tuesday and Wednesday, but my latest (by Thursday) tracking notification was that the second package (mags/mount) was "accepted" by USPS Wednesday. The only thing that made it as planned was the 14.5" midlength BCM barrel. Who knows what UPS has done with the damn rail - "Late Train" is the only description in the shipment tracking. Is the damn thing ON the train? Did the train wreck? Is it a Party Train on it's way to Daytona, or Vegas? :wtf: does "Late Train" mean, you dipshits? The DSG stuff (not even their fault, in the least - they got the packages out, but the USPS is bonin' the pooch)... One tracking number still says it's going to be delivered on the 20th. poop, that's yesterday - update your poop, USPS. This is the first one, and it's status is "Processed at USPS Origin Sort Facility; December 18, 2012, 7:29 pm." This is the small parts - basically, the rest of the damn rifle. Second one, mags and mount, still shows that it'll be delivered tomorrow, by the tracking status. However, it's current status is "Depart USPS Sort Facility; December 21, 2012," and that's after "Processed at USPS Origin Sort Facility; December 20, 2012, 7:51 pm." Okay, so wait a minute here. Did the first one not depart that damn Sort Facility yet?... It doesn't say so in the status... Bottom line - I have no idea when all this poop will show up. Both companies are very stand-up companies (Geissele and DSG Arms), so I have no fear that it can be handled. My faith in the shipping companies (UPS, and USPS) is nil. <dontknow>

...and it wasn't funny, either... :o I've been looking at this, for quite awhile. As soon as the new AWB kicks in, and I can't build any more ARs, I'll be looking for things to do. That'll be the point that I do something like this. And finally get the .338 LM going. <dontknow>

I believe there's a current thread with this exact same question. It was just started a few days ago. Hit this: http://308ar.com/forum/general-discussion/so-ar15-diameter-buffer-tube-on-a-dpms-ap4-308-possible/

Barrel and all small parts will be here today, mags and light mount will be here tomorrow. UPS fucked up the shipment on the Geissele rail, and it's been sitting in a train station in Baltimore, MD for 2 1/2 days. That bastard won't be here until Xmas eve at the soonest. >:( Not shooting it this weekend, that's for sure. <dontknow>

I'm gonna wake up in the morning, hit the can, and wipe my ass with a Mayan Calendar. I'll taunt them. If it's gonna happen, I'm gonna help it along. <thumbsup>

I have that issue. Still. <thumbsup>

I love it, brother. I told you - ANY AR. <thumbsup>

Precision Firearms is the place I got my wood furniture from, but they do much, much more than that - they build some badass AR upper receivers and complete rifles. Mark Hostetter runs it all, and he's a GREAT guy. I receive every email update they send, and I'm proud to be on their mailing list. Here's the evening update from Mark tonight: Due to the Political Fallout from the Newtown School Shooting, a race to buy all AR Rifles and Components is underway. We have seen sales jump by 20Xs the normal. This ties up the phones, sales people, and myself in purchasing. We are buying up all the parts we can just so we can continue to build rifles in the future. We are not selling lowers and upper receivers, barrels, mags or hand guards. We are only selling complete uppers and rifles. Mags are reserved for rifle builds only. We will take orders for the other items by email only. Please include your phone number in the emails. We are asking for patience as we swim through the massive amount of orders. We will not be able to give everyone the attention they deserve and for this I apologize and hope you understand. We don’t really like to do business this way, but with everyone wanting everything, we are trying to allot each, some time. Our inventory is lower than it has been in 4 years and dropping fast. If what you want is not on the site as in stock – email for updates. Orders for rifles and uppers have a lead time of 3-4 weeks. Ammo orders will be delayed by 2-3 weeks so we can set up operations in the new shop. Added to this, we are in the middle of the move to Avenue MD, and this is right in the middle of it all. Of course we didn’t see this coming and delays will be inevitable. If you were able to place the order, this means, in most cases, that we have the components, but they will need to be assembled. For those who don’t want to or can’t wait, or have found what they want elsewhere, you may cancel the order if it has not been already built. Your funds will be returned in full and no hard feelings. You may reorder again at any time, but the order will start over in queue. In no way is this supposed to mean we dont value everyone's business, but we know we just can't have the service we did a few days ago and make all our customers happy. I believe most of you are understanding as we have had very few asking about previous orders. Emails can take upto 24-48 hours to answer. Items that are in critical short supply are Rifles, Uppers, Ammo, and Mags. We still have lowers and uppers and are taking orders for rifles. All components are in stock or en-route to us. We stocked up heavily before the elections and are glad we did. Email or call us for your custom AR build. The Havoc and Katana Rifles are still in stock. Mark Hostetter Precision Firearms 13337 Clopper Rd Hagerstown MD 21742 240-217-6875 email: precars@aol.com or precisionfirearms.com Good to go, in my book. <thumbsup>

HELL YEAH, BROTHER!!! :happydrunks: :hethan: That internal castle nut... I sure as hell did, then I went after it with the punches and a small hammer, too. Mine are both in there, well. <thumbsup>

1911s will have a ramped porting of the receiver at the front of the magwell, and also a ramped lower section on the barrel. Those two angles need to match pretty damn well, too. The ramp in your barrel looks pretty damn good. Wide as hell. <thumbsup>
-
Awesome, Rene, and just what I thought. Get after that coating on the locking/mating surfaces with a bronze brush or a brass brush. Who knows how thick they applied that at the factory, and no matter how thick it is, it's going to cause drag from the slide to the receiver. You don't need to damage the finish on the exterior surfaces, just knock that poop off the mating grooves/rails. I'll bet that thing will run slick as greased moose poop on a linoleum floor... <thumbsup> <laughs>

If you're looking at the MRF-308 rail, you don't need the front triangle (or round) handguard cap - that's a freefloat rail, and only attaches to the barrel nut. What kind of rifle do you have, first off?

My boy is at a charter. <thumbsup>

Damn nice rifle, brother! Great upgrades! <dontknow> :happydrunks:

Same here. <thumbsup>

I think this will spread. It might take years, but it will spread, as people in this country wake up. It'll probably become policy in alot of states, nationwide. I see the states of NJ, CT, MA, NY, and CA never adopting this policy, though. Some part of AZ will be next.

Another problem - Many hunters are against "Assault Weapons"
98Z5V replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
Critter hunters don't have that mentality. P-dogs, javelina, coyote. "Traditional" hunters, of the older variety, don't understand semi's. -
Nope, no cleaning necessary, brother - just want to look at something from the factory on this one. SPBCTS is talking about years worth of Sigs and experience, but the ones he's talking about aren't Sig 1911s. There's something about this one that I want to see, and it can be grubby-dirty and still tell me what I want to know. <thumbsup>
-
Rene, do me a favor, brother - take the slide off your pistol. Get me a picture of the lower, side shot, and the upper, inside the slide. I want to look at the mating surfaces, and the interface between upper and lower. <thumbsup>
