  1. This topic has been moved to .308AR Parts. [iurl]http://308ar.com/forum/index.php?topic=1087.0[/iurl]
  2. Info posted by Glenn Seekins (Seekins Precision is making these uppers and lowers): Our 308 platform will be based off of the SR25 in some ways and our own in others. There is no "standard" for the large platform and im so sick of dealing with the sloppy standard of the ar15 these will come with allot of our own parts. They are compatible with dpms style bolts (and possibly armalite). Im not even going to attempt at making them fit other uppers/lowers because of the machining conflicts. I will offer uppers at a cheap enough price that if you wish you can swap out the existing upper you have as well as sell lowers separately with you understanding they will only work with our upper. This is going to be more of a platform to build from, not a logo kit like the 15's are. Kits will be available sometime this spring. I am working the logistics out right now. Just installed a new cnc before we left for shot and tomorrow will be looking at another manufacturing center. I will have more info on lead time around the end of the week. SP lower 7075 billet- hard anodized black sp take down pins (stainless) sp ambi mag release (complete mag release) sp dual action bolt control (complete bolt catch) sp captured buffer retainer All you need to complete the lower is a trigger, trigger pins and safety selector. We should have both here to sell you a complete lower if you choose, but only with good stuff. SP upper 7075 billet - hard anodized black sp billet port door forward assist (optional) DPMS or Armalite bolt/extension compatible. Not sure yet as we have our own bolt carriers in the making, still undetermined. If i can, i will make it work with both. I will have two different forend rails available with upper/rail sets that do not use the barrel nut to mate together. Hard to explain, bit its the cats ass when it comes to a stiff and accurate upper. One quad rail like the SAR rail we distribute thru spikes tactical. Super light weight, Titanium barrel nut. The other is a triangle shaped rail geared for 3 gun and competition shooting. It will also be light weight and may have some carbon fiber mixed in with it. Retail 650$ for the upper/lower kit. Rails TBD _________________________ Glen Seekins glen@seekinsprecision.com
  3. I've got all 4 of those you listed - and they're GREAT. AP is more of an information DVD, as most of us will never, ever be involved in Aerial Platform operations. Having done alot of that in my past career, I'd wished I had that information 20 years ago. The shotgun set should be out now, and I'll be picking that one up. <thumbsup>
  4. Great. Just having news like this hit the streets is what starts driving prices through the roof. :(
  5. Sun Devil has made SWEET billet AR-15 uppers and lowers for quite some time now - seeing what they do for the .308 platform will be a treat. <thumbsup>
  6. No big deal, brother - there isn't enough posted about that thing anyway. Every little bit helps. <thumbsup>
  7. That second finger ledge front insert is only used if you use the grip for a front vertical foregrip on a rail. <thumbsup>
  8. Find out what all LaRue does to that OBR - that's a great way to start, for AR accuracy. :o Welcome aboard, man. <thumbsup>
  9. Yes, man - that one was posted up some time ago, but it never hurts seeing it again. Many people are freaking out about the current Remington/AAC dealings right now with the 300 AAC Blackout round. Remington and AAC have been doing things together for a little while now - and nothing bad is coming from it. <thumbsup>
  10. You'd love that barrel, Matt. It's a great barrel; I nailed mine on sale directly from Fulton for $285, then the PRI .936 gas block cost me another $65. You won't find a price like this again. I'm just sayin'... ;D
  11. We ALL told you about this a long time ago, too... You're "officially" afflicted now... <lmao>
  12. D'oh! :o Reduction in pay duly noted... :-[
  13. The older IRA-10D was DPMS compatible, and the older IRA-10A was Armalite compatible. The "-10" part wasn't liked, so it was dropped for the "IRA-X" moniker. The only pics you'll see on their website now are of the older "IRA-10D" stamped/engraved lowers, but I don't think they ship like that anymore. Examples:
  14. Troll... <lmao> <laughs>
  15. I thought my Troy 13.8" was going to look strange on an 18" barrel - but I loved it! <thumbsup> ;D
  16. I'm going to keep my eye on that one - great find. <thumbsup>
  17. DAMN!!! :o Making that thing a rear-breach, kinda like the bullpup rifles, makes it the equivalent of handling a short-barreled shotgun... Very Niiiiiiice... <thumbsup>
  18. Now, how did you pull that one off?... <dontknow> <laughs>
  19. Some Armalite .308s have unique gas tube lengths, though. Otherwise, if you have a .308 barrel with a rifle length gas system, it'll use the AR-15 rifle length gas tube. Barrel makers usually state what gas system their specific barrels use. Pay attention to that on the AR-10-compatible barrels.
  20. That's a great looking build, just like it is, man! How are you liking the GG&G bipod so far?
  21. Nothing more satisfying than teaching Privates and Lieutenants how to shoot - then watching them do well. <thumbsup> Welcome aboard, glad to have you here.
  22. Been pimping that stuff for awhile, brother - it's great! <thumbsup>
  23. It's one of the best compensators made (designed), and it does a great job on recoil reduction. Echo what TacBlade said, but I've never tried the thing without earpro on. I have a hearing aid for my right ear, and I earned that thing. No more of that for me... <dontknow> ;D
  24. And you questioned my logic about moving out of VA, back to AZ... <lmao> I got out of VA just in time... <thumbsup> "You don't shovel heat, baby!" <laughs>
  25. Yeah brother - DNP built his with the PRI tube and separate top rail. He was undecided about keeping the top rail on there. I'll dig up the pics. Aaaaaah - not the "SPR" top rail for DNP - I now see what you've done here... <laughs> Here's DNP's boomstick:
