  1. Larry, I've got the blueprints and lower plans for an AR-10. FCG pocket will be the same as DPMS-patterned .308s, and if you're starting with 80% lowers anyway, the magwell will already be completed on all of them. No need to mill the magwell on them, be it AR-10 pattern or DPMS-type pattern. Two .zip files are attached to this post, but I can't attach the executable file for the CNC machine cutting program. I can email that to you if you need/want it. Send me a PM with your email address if you want that one. <thumbsup> 802_.zip 803_.zip
  2. I picked up my first BAD lever in January - and love it. I love the change in the manual of arms, and what it does for the rifle; I just wish it would have been out when I was still in the Army. Great piece of gear, IMHO. <thumbsup> Now, with that said, I've got the BAD lever on 5 ARs right now, and I've tried to mount one up on my DPMS .308, and it's just not clearing on the recess on the upper. One that I've looked at that might work is the Phase 5 Tactical, EBR Version 2. I'm going to give one a try and see how it does on the .308.
  3. That Bennie Cooley from Fulton is supposed to be the best of the best for the .308. I haven't shot one of those, so I can't give first hand experience on it; just passing on what I've seen others say about it. I'm running the YHM .308 Phantom "combo comp/flash suppressor" on mine, on the Fulton 18.5" barrel. It does very, very well at the flash suppression part. It kicks like a damn mule, though, so I'll tell you that it's MUCH better at flash suppression than it is as a comp. <laughs>
  4. The DMS-1 is a nice scope, man - it would be a good one for the 16" beasty. <thumbsup>
  5. I must admit - I'm enjoying your progress with this project! <thumbsup> Great stuff, ss.
  6. D'oh! :o Busted! <laughs> <lmao>
  7. LaRue OBR for that money, or look for a lower price on the LMT .308. Both those fit your POU, and would do well.
  8. Welcome aboard, man. Kick your feet up on the desk, relax, check things out... <thumbsup> (It's not my desk, so I don't mind... <lmao>)
  9. The forward assist on a .308 AR won't grab the serrations on the BCG, but the forward assist is functional - it grabs the shoulder on the .308 BCG where it goes from smaller to larger. You can seat the bolt in the extension with the forward assist. There's so much more chambering force in a .308 AR over a 5.56 AR, though - if the BCG doesn't fully seat on a live round, something else is wrong.
  10. They kept pushing it back, had a contract to provide for the LMT (if I remember that right), and had a couple other things they were trying to do at the same time. Honestly, I quit following the release of the 25s out of frustration... :-[
  11. They definitely clean up alot better than a phosphated carrier. The surface is harder, and they'll operate smoothly - better so than phosphate carriers. Those are the real benefits. "Looks" is the other benefit, or detractor, depending on how you feel about it. Worth it, IMHO. <thumbsup>
  12. HAHA! I should have it in a few more weeks, and I'll be shooting it by the end of the month, or beginning of August. <thumbsup>
  13. I've got the same 18.5" you're looking at, documented in this thread: http://308ar.com/forum/index.php/topic,130.0.html Great barrel. <thumbsup> I know survivalshop and DNP both have the 16" version of the same barrel.
  14. Simply means that upper and lower is so sweet that his financial situation will suffer - 'cause your pics are gonna force him to get one. It's BRD, nothing more. He's afflicted, much like the rest of us. If you're not currently afflicted (addicted, affected, diseased, plagued, tormented, tortured, troubled, tormented, or otherwise smitten, etc.) with BRD,... ...then you will be soon - and you'll understand... <lmao> <munch>
  15. A'ight. <thumbsup> Last "regular" gun build is complete, and the future monetary savings are going towards a Barrett 98B... ;D No more 5.56 or .308 builds until I have a .338. Promise. :o <laughs>

McCormick's for me, with Ed Brown base pads. <thumbsup>
  17. Hamburg, PA location, by chance? Let me know and I'll meet you there. <thumbsup> ***Just looked at their locations - probably East Hartford... Bummer. :(
  18. WHOA!!! :o First, BIG CONGRATS on serial number 001!!! I just noticed that their manufacturing location on the lower is Yuma, AZ - when did they move to Yuma? That's one sweet matched set, no doubt. <thumbsup>
  19. COMPLETE!!! It's all finished now, with range time coming up soon. Rundown: Spike's billet Biohazard upper and lower, Spike's 12.875" rail, Spike's nickel boron-coated Battle Trigger, Spike's ST-T2 powdered tungsten heavy buffer, Wilson-Nordic 1:8 twist stainless midlength barrel with a .223 Wylde chamber, MI lo-pro gas block, YHM Phantom flash hider, BAD-ASS ambi safety selector, BCM Gunfighter Mod 3 (large latch) charging handle, Millett DMS-1 scope in a Burris PEPR mount, Magpul MIAD, UBR with enhanced buttpad, MBUS front and rear sights, windowed Pmags, RVG, and BAD lever, with a Blue Force Gear padded Vickers sling. I'm running a BCM BCG right now, but that's a temp until next month when I can put the Spike's nickel boron-coated BCG in it (made by Fail Zero for Spike's). I'm glad this thing is finished... :o
  20. OH HELL YEAH!!! <thumbsup> They did a FINE job on the anno!!!
  21. Yes Sir, that is it. Nice o-ring seal around the lid, toss in a couple small packs of dessicant, and you're golden. <thumbsup> About the only thing that will ever be able to get in there and ruin what you're storing - will be fire. <laughs>
  22. Good call, man... <lmao> What she doesn't know... ;D
  23. I do both of these - I leave most of my Pmags loaded with the covers on, and further stacked into Cabela's dry boxes (catch those jokers on sale about twice a year for $8.99 ea <thumbsup>). All my GI aluminum mags are stacked and unloaded. Ammo, beyond what fits in mags - that stuff stays boxed but stacked in dry storage boxes, with separate marked boxes for .223/5.56, .308, .22LR, .45 ACP, then "various.". The Cabela's dry boxes stack very nicely and securely (they almost lock in together when stacked).
  24. No kidding - much more inline with a Fox News article than a CNN article. This is what got me, in that - this comment: After a recent weekend in which 10 people were killed and 60 wounded by gunfire, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley continued to argue the necessity of a citywide gun ban. "Look at all the guns that shot people this weekend. Where did they come from? That is the issue." First, the guns didn't shoot people - people shot people. Second, a handgun ban is NOT going to stop criminals from obtaining guns. That statement right there is the proof that criminals will get guns, no matter what ban is in place, and they'll use them for whatever they want. No preventative or prohibitionary law can stop that. They just don't get it... :(
  25. In a nutshell, you'll need: * an A1 length buffer tube, * a .308-specific rifle buffer, * a .308-specific rifle buffer spring, ...and the PRS. There are two versions of the PRS out there - AR-15 and AR-10. Slight difference, but you need the AR-10 PRS; if you have the AR-15 PRS it can work with slight trimming, but some people don't like the look of that. I won't get into the details of it, 'cause you probably ordered the AR-10 one.. ;D <thumbsup>
