  1. WOW. Looks like some 40 LPI checkering on the back of that slide - that's smart as hell. <thumbsup> That whole hand-cannon is VERY slick. ;)
  2. BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!! <laughs> If he was closer to you, you'd be shelling out more, trust me. <lmao> You should have him describe his remote flash operation... He sets up timed flashes close to the action, while he's a distance away with a long lens - out of danger of the thundering desert race trucks. <thumbsup> That setup is so sweet, man. Handful of those little badboys all angled different, triggered from the camera. He brought that out to the dunes in late '08 and we were playing with it. Just ask him to post pics of a buggy roll-over sequence... :o ;D
  3. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that NOTHING is safe from the upgrade sickness/affliction... :o <laughs>
  4. End of this month, if I remember it right. <thumbsup>
  5. I can't believe these guys are still so far behind at this point. Seems crazy. When I see things like this, I often wonder if they were just taking orders last year, and because they (every manufacturer) was so slammed - that they've just kinda put that stuff out-of-mind now. Kinda like they're just ignoring everybody that ordered during "the craze of 2009" or something. When I built my .308 up in March, I ordered all the small parts for the upper from DPMS, via a phonecall. I received the stuff in a week, and the prices were comparable to other vendors - they were just the only place that had every little piece, from one place. They were good about it, actually. I just can't believe that these companies are still literally chitting on most of the people that ordered last year - no way should it take that long, IMHO. At any rate, you know I'll vote for the Fulton parts, man... <thumbsup> That 18.5 NM SS barrel is sweet.
  6. I saw some info from one of the guys that works at C Products - I think he was saying they'd be ready to sell by the end of this month. <thumbsup>
  7. That is a good lookin' boomstick. <thumbsup>
  8. Oh, I know that... something like a .338 Lapua, probably... <lmao> <thumbsup>
  9. See? You guys are not a good influence... :o
  10. That is such a nice, nice pistol - big congrats on that one! <thumbsup>
  11. Kimber screwed me with that a long time ago. Only other thing I'd rather have besides a long-gun (has to be an AR-varient) is a .45. Right now, I'm fighting with myself (and kicking my own ass) over a Kimber 4" gun. I have two Kimber 5" guns and a 3" gun - and I need to reach that "happy medium..." :o I just don't have the smooth $1,400 for the one I want/need. (need? <lmao>) $1,400 in AR parts can go a little ways, ya know? >:( Yeah, I need it. <thumbsup>
  12. I suspect the semi-.308 parts will show up under Fulton's name before much else does. Just guessin'... ;D
  13. WooHoo!!! Hell yeah, man!!! <thumbsup> I've got the perfect starter quad already! ;D
  14. Man, I didn't even know they were having the previous sale until everything was in the cart - none of the numbers looked right, so I opened another window to check prices on each item. That was nothing but luck, brother! <dontknow> ;D In the end, it won't matter what you got the parts for - once rounds are downrange, the smile won't come off your face with a scrub brush!... <thumbsup>
  15. I'll tell ya what, Panther... I've got a bag of gas tube roll pins that I had the Little Woman put in a separate gun safe - that I don't know the combo to. ;D I'll pull out 3 or 4 of them and send them to you. That'll accomplish two things, I'm thinkin'... Stop ME from building 3 or 4 more guns in the short term, and... It'll give YOU the sickness... <lmao> <laughs> I mean, all you need is 3 or 4 gas blocks to start them into, and then they'll be safe, right?... <thumbsup> <munch> Just a gas tube or two after that... :o It catches up with you fast, man. I'm just sayin'... <dontknow>
  16. 10% off everything Fulton Armory has. You'll see the discounted price when you add an item to your shopping cart - regular prices are listed on the items on the site. Add to Cart, see what you save. They were having a President's Day sale when I built my .308, and I saved a substantial amount just on a chromed BCG and SS NM barrel - definitely worth looking at - and if you're one of those people that's "on the fence" over building a .308, then two of the big-ticket items you need will be cheaper right now (BCG and barrel). IMHO, there are only 5 big-ticket items in building a semi .308 - stripped upper, stripped lower, barrel, BCG, rail. Everything else is small parts. Again, just my $0.02... Hit it: http://www.fulton-armory.com/ Nobody knows how long this one will last... <thumbsup>
  17. Bandit, I'm cleared on the 308 Jard, if one is still available. Alright to PM details to you, and handle it via PayPal?
  18. ^^^ I used FA for those exact parts - complete chrome BCG and the 18.5" MW stainless barrel. Great stuff, without a doubt. Yes, it'll match up fine between barrel/bolt, and you'll have no worries about it if it's coming from them. I actually headspace-gauged mine with a set of Forster gauges, and it was total perfection. That barrel is a National Match barrel, too, and it's already finish lapped straight from Fulton. Shoots fantastic right out of the box. FAs price on the chromed BCGs is about the best price you'll find.
  19. I almost went with one of those on what I'm working on now. The only thing that stopped me was (at the time) they didn't have a release date on a rifle-lengthed upper. What I went with will be sweeter than that. <thumbsup> ;D Those things are NICE, though. I almost did it.
  20. I did a long stint as a volunteer ski medic, and had my backpack tailored to the needs. Had a little weight to it, but it was still very manageable on the slopes. I had it organized into three main compartments: Personal, Blood management, Airway management, Personal stuff on top (gloves, mask, flashlight, camera for accident-scene pics, etc.), Blood management items were Quik-clot, bandages of all sizes, Ace cling wraps, tourniquet straps. Airway management items were oral airways of all sizes, pocket masks for CPR, Epinephrin auto injectors (never used one of those once on any broken skiiers). The Blood bag was marked in red on the sides and top, and the Airway bag was marked in blue on the sides and top - no confusion when digging in the bag, no matter which compartment you dug into. Things like SAM splints went in along the sides, and specialty items were stored in a pocket on the outside center - small tubing cutter (cut off ski poles if someone managed to impale themselves), leatherman, tubular nylon ties of various lengths, and a boot strap to put on their boot to apply axial traction of a fracture. The sled had the big items; backboard, large quick splints, traction rod for the quick splints, blankets. On four-wheeling trips in the Jeep, I'd always have a decent sized bag. Inside was the largest kit made by Adventure Medical, and two Army M3 Medic bags, one Blood bag marked red, and the other (yep) Airway bag marked blue. I'd also urge anyone concerned with personal medical training to enroll in an EMT-Basic course at a local community college or through a local fire department. It takes awhile to complete and it's not cheap, but the training is excellent and very well worth the time. That will give you a trememdous headstart on looking at various gear that you might need for whatever you do, and it'll definitely give you a huge skillset. Being calm and moving fast when someone is injured is the best tool you can have in the bag. <thumbsup>
  21. That disclaimer cracked me up, man... <lmao> <thumbsup> That red-tipped bullet you saw might have been a Hornady A-Max or a V-Max - those are the only ones I know of that have a red plastic tip. Some other manufacturer might be making them now, though, as Hornady's .308 A-Max around that weight is 178gr or 208gr. I'd like to see more on the 180gr stuff you found, and whether it could be loaded to magazine length. That's cool. A-Max and V-Max are both stupid-accurate stuff. <thumbsup>
  22. That poop ain't even funny... :o I could grow a gun around each one of those things in a matter of months - it's like watering plants. Not even cool, man... >:( Damn bunch of "enablers" around here. Nothing but bad enfluences. ??? I'd say "you guy's just ain't right" but I'd feel like i was pointing fingers at myself doing it...
  23. I wasn't aware they made those for .308s... What the hell are you building now? <dontknow> <lmao> You're just as much afflicted as the rest of us. <laughs>
  24. EXPENSIVE! Souls ain't cheap - I used mine to finance a bunch 'a gunnage. Just like Drew said... :o
  25. DNP made a reference to this just because he knows me... The Year In Guns. I've had a hell of a build year this year, based on past parts, stuff laying around without a goal, etc. My most embarrassing moment was turning a spare gas tube roll pin into a complete gun - I was afraid to lose the roll pin, so I got a gas tube, then a block, and it all went downhill from there. Before I know it, I had another AR. Here's the pictoral Year, so far. I'll get stumped in May, because I'm waiting on parts to be made. May will definitely be the last one of THIS year, too. Sorry guys, I'm not building a .338 Lapua. I won't cave in to your peer-pressure... :o Not THIS year... ;D January = YHM striped lower and upper, YHM 20" 1/7 barrel (badass barrel!), Colt M4 complete BCG, and various Magpul parts all over it. Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40 scope in Burris XTR High mounts. It's the most accurate AR I have: February = spare Colt M4A1 SOCOM upper I had taking up space had to turn into something. I pinned and welded a YHM Phantom onto it to get it legal, and combined it to a AP stripped lower. Bushnell red dot on it, Magpul parts all over, Redi-Mag (shaved down), and it's BY FAR the FUNNEST gun I have: March = the BIG ONE. The DPMS .308. DPMS stripped upper and lower, Magpul MIAD, DPMS LPK, A2 stock, Cabela's Pine Ridge Tactical 3-12x40 scope on an Armalite one piece mount, Troy MRF 13.8 rail, and Knight's rail covers. I forgot something... :o April = Little Woman's build, for her birthday. Spike's Mega stripped lower, AP upper, Armalite 16" midlength barrel with a 1/9 twist (she's not shooting anything heavy...), Magpull goodies all over, and the same Bushnell Trophy red dot in an Aimpoint QRP mount, and surefire M951 light. She WILL learn how to shoot this thing well... ;D May/June/July will be interesting, to say the least. I think it's gonna take that long to get the next one together. Based on that, and what the damn thing is costing me, it's the LAST build this year. If I could do more, I would, but this one is killing me... <dontknow> :o
