You landed a Dinosaur, brother... That is so damn cool.
-
You're welcome. Thanks for playing. Feel free to stick around, and provide the information asked of you initially. Or not.

You guys think THAT is scary... Let's just combine the Range Master out here at Dillon Aero into the mix... That's a Three-Fer, on the price of admission...
-
See?.... NOW YOU DID IT!!!... You just made this MORE COMPLICATED with that statement... We'll help - with what we can. I promise you that much, brother...
-
Great job, Cliff - you did well on that, man.

I've had some great "deployments" to PC Beach in the past. Careful planning for locations for training close to there - timed about Spring Break time... Spinnakers (no longer a "nightclub" after 2019... RIP Spinnakers... ) and La Vela's - STILL a club... Like shooting fish in a barrel, during Spring Break...

You're now making a Race Gun, brother. It's gonna run GREAT... on that one load that it likes. As soon as you try other ammo - it might work, it might not. It might choke... That's cool, if you're handloading that ONE load all the time, though. God forbid you need some other ammo, at some other time... Race Guns have their place. They're not guns to depend on, if you ever need to vary your load for any reason - they're gonna choke. If he "tailored" his gas system for that specific lightass buffer - it means he made his gas port smaller. 3.3oz buffer isn't even the H1 (3.8oz) buffer that all these guys ship in "factory guns" - that doesn't work worth a shiit... Hmmm... Ponder that, before you run all the complicated parts... Think about what you really want this gun to do, and select parts from that point - purpose of the gun, in it's first place. It takes a3.8oz H1 buffer to make the M4A1 fully-functional. And that's just a 5.56 gun. 6.8 SPC is a different animal. On to another "different animal," - my .224 Valk is based on a 6.8SPC case, directly, necked down to .224. That thing needs a VLTOR A5H2 buffer to run right, and not beat me up. That's 5.33oz. It "runs" with a VLTOR A5H1, which is 4.56oz, and it's a HARSH recoil impulse from it... I'll be switching out all my VLTOR A5H2 buffers, that weigh that, for Slash's VLTOR buffer, his A5H3 buffer, that weighs 5.5oz. It's just smoother, with his buffer... My $0.02 on the whole affair. That's gotta be one small-ass gas port in that 6.8 barrel...

Go through the process for "selecting the parts" for one of the LaRue Ultimate Upper Kits, and see what number you come up with. For small-frame ARs, it's gonna be $792. That "Ultimate Upper Kit" is absolutely everything you need for a whole gun, minus a lower receiver. So, then, you add a small-frame lower receiver for $199. You just made a whole LaRue gun for $991... Large-frames are a little more, for example, the lower is $299, and the upper is a little more than the smaller stuff - and it's still worlds cheaper than any Wilson Combat full gun.

#1. Something was definitely wrong with the selection of parts for your carbine recoil system, if it would NOT catch the bolt face. I'd like more details on exact dimensions of those parts, if you'd like to provide them. Something was WRONG with the parts, if it would not catch the face of the bolt, and only the body of the BCG. Rifle buffer weight is 5.4 oz, not 5.6oz, I don't care what any manufactorer is telling you - weight it. If your rifle WILL NOT FUNCTION with a 5.4oz buffer, in the appropriate receiver extension, with the appropriate recoil spring... ... Then you have a gas system problem. -
That's up there, kinda, even for an "almost new, almost unused condition" - I'm always trolling for these things, so I'll keep my eye on it. Thank you, brother - big time.

correct spring and buffer for a DPMS Gen 2 recon

Drop-in cartridge triggers don't usually have this problem. This is usually a mistake made by people installing mil-spec triggers, from parts - and they usually install the bolt catch spring into the trigger disconnector, or vice-versa - or install the disconnect spring backwards, or install the bolt catch spring backwards. That's always a fun time to diagnose that stuff. -
Kraken is alright. There will BE NO Hennessey, though. If there is, I'M not touching it...

You just severely Complicated Shiit With Complicated Shiit. I'll be interested to see how this works out, in the long run.

If you think that, then you're not understanding the mechanics and physics behind all this... Rifle Gas Systems don't mean you need to run Rifle Recoil Systems - the two systems are independent of each other, completely. However, both systems need to be balanced. I've written extensively on this topic, right here on this board. If you have Carbine Gas - you can run a Rifle Recoil System. If you have Rifle Gas - you can easily run a Carbine Recoil System. It's proven. I've proven it extensively, just on the builds that I have done, for my own personal guns. Don't believe the hype that you'll read, all over the internet, on this topic. Most people on the internet are full of shiit. They haven't done it, tried it - but THEY READ ABOUT IT!... Right after that, they regurgitated it, on every board that they could find. Just because they READ about it, made it FACT... Don't believe the hype - there's ALOT of bullshiit out there. And you seem to be caught up in it, based on what you're posting here. -
^^^ Thin layer of Mayo on top of the salmon filet restores a TON of moisture into the filet as it's cooking. Does NOT leave it with a Mayo taste, either. Once you try that, you won't go back.

Same mounting system as the standard LaRue rails - and it IS rock solid. Very, very similar to the PRI mounting system, which is equally as solid. There's nothing better on the market outside of those two, as far as heavy-duty goes. I'd rate the older Daniel Defense mounting system a very close runner up to those two - and that's the old DD 5.56 RIS II setups and the original .308 setup (7.62 LITE Rail) - the 6-bolt designs. I'd favor the LaRue setup as having a slight edge (or slightly "improved') over the PRI setup. It's a badass solid lockup, that's for damn sure. Those 3 are the top of my list, as far as "smart mounting" goes - they all nailed it.

Called today for a status - all he would say is "You're closer!" With all the craziness, they stopped doing/tracking "build dates" and everything like that. So there's no schedule to refer to as to where I am in the line of putting my specific parts in a box and shipping them. I also asked about the Siete, and where that's at - it's been back-burnered for now, until they can catch up with how slammed they are. Once they dig out of this massive backorder hole that the country has put them in, they'll launch the Siete again. It's still the same as they told me at SHOT... 10" .308 barrel in a pistol chassis, 20" 6.5C in a rifle chassis, around $1400 for the package, for "early adopters." So, basically, 3 months in today, with a "projected" statement of "we've been seeing that package go anywhere between 2 and 4 months..." That was my update. I still have a fully functional 6 ARC that will get blasted to hell and back during Fall Shoot, but it might not be sexy painted "Sexual Chocolate" Larue Gun-In-Full for that. Just don't know. Time to start working up my handloads, and seeing what I can get from some CCI 41 primers, Hornady brass, and Accurate 2520... Temps are supposed to cool at the end of next week, and we'll finally be DONE with these 100* days... Load development coming up.

Hell yeah - I know there's ALOT of .45 ACP upstairs that says "Ron" on the boxes...
-
Plenty. Bring a 1911 or other .45 ACP with you...
-
I'm in, for receiving your shipping. Plenty of space to store it, brother. Just let me know what's on the way, and when, and I'll keep it segregated from everyone else's stuff.

^^^ This is not a joke...

NICE! How long did that handguard take? First one I've seen in the wild, since they released them. The PA 5x prisms are on sale right now, got the email yesterday.
-
It's pretty insane when you mix it with some Bailey's...

I can myth-bust this one. I know @Rsquared pretty well. If you were him, you would have already had my address, and tripped up asking for it to send something out here. Shiit, I think he's been here for 5 years in a row now... Or damn close to that...
