Been awhile since I've updated this little beast, and I'll be honest... So many projects, so little time, prioritization of new projects, buying new shiit to shoot, changing scopes on competition guns, changing BARRELS and CALIBERS on competition guns, etc... Sometimes, things get lost in the clutter, and pushed aside "for right now..." This past weekend I was up in Kingman at Parabellum range, for a purpose. A job interview, of sorts. I'll tell the full story later, but it was a full-on success, in two different aspects. I was teaching a Precision Rifle class for 3 people, for a future project. I'd been told a couple months ago that one of the guys was seriously interested in 6 ARC, and was asked if I could talk about that. Um, yep I certainly can, and I'll bring 3 different configurations, and the ammo, and the dope for them. For this specific person, I showed the downrange differences in the 18" and the 16", both LaRue guns. Very little difference, besides a slight muzzle velocity and ft/lbs of energy difference. Maybe another 1/10th click on the 16 over the 18, etc. He shot the 18 while I was on another bench shooting the 16. Asked him if he wanted to shoot the 16, and he said no, he sees the difference. Turned him loose on the 12.5" beast... We were shooting the Known Distance bay, 300 to 1k yards, every hundred yards. Gave him the dope chart, and told him to skip 300 and 400, just start on 500. First round impact at 5 and 6, second round impact at 7. We skipped 800 because of the berm and brush - nakes spotting short shots pretty hard because of the brush in front of the target. Went to 900 - first round impact. Now, keep in mind, all morning we've had a consistant 7~9mph wind from the left. He'd already been through 60 rounds on the 18" gun, so he was on with the wind we had. Went to 1,000 yards. I gave him a 15 round mag. He hit the 1k, after 5 or 6 shots. Gave most of the mag back. 12.5" 6 ARC at 1,000 yards is proven. I didn't shoot it, but it doesn't matter. It was better seeing him shoot it, since I haven't dedicated the time to get this done. It's been done. The dope was on for the gun. And the gun runs. Yes, men - you can run a 12.5" 6 ARC to 1,000 yards accurately.

This is badass!!! HELL YEAH!!! Did you ask him about shooting a mile - then differentiate between Statute and Nautical miles?... -
EDIT - I SEE said the Blind Man... Those were Cops, with Doctor shiit on...
-
I'll say this much - I'm at 4:38 into it now, and I'd be shoving and just straight snap kicking some doctors in the chest, and clearing those nosy motherfukcers from the scene. Fast. Those dickhaeds need to be AWAY from that door and scene - they have NO business disrupting this like they are. Get your as$es around the corner, down the next hallway, and just STAY the fuq out of the way already. Not a question, or a request - GO!!!

Haven't even watched the whole thing yet, but I paused it at 16 seconds in, to comment here. That cop has ZERO IDEA how to properly hold a pistol. Zero. I already know what's coming, so I'm gonna unpause it, and watch him lose something, I'm sure. I don't know how he graduated any academy at all, doing poop like that. It's almost as if he has NO training at all. Let's get this on...

Read the details of the agreement with DOJ that they were forced to sign, which made DOJ get off their as$, and not pursue it anymore. It was bribery, clear and straight forward, on the part of DOJ. Don't blame Rare Breed, unless you've fully read that agreement, and fully understand that agreement. It has nothing to do with them. It's all on DOJ, for that bullshiit... My $0.02, having read the whole thing...

Your little Ass is cute, when he's cold...

Scary, if real. A Chinese Coup Attempt? Frightening, if legit.

Oh, I'm with ya, brother, all the way. Wind Chill sucks! I didn't mind layering up, when I had some really good stuff to layer up with. But, in the heat, like you said - you run out of things to take off... In the summer, you don't do much outside during the middle of the day, and even the evenings suck. You're dead in the water, until the average daily temps drop. The only benefit is, you don't shovel heat...

It's perspective. It's cold AF, but there are colder places. It's highly "not normal". That's the perspective, in that region. Button up, brace yourselves. I used to do Cold. I live in the desert for a reason now, and it's because of that. That's "engine block heater" shiit, right there, for those that usually don't have engine block heaters installed. That sucks, and it's too late right now to install one.

Public Service Announcement. If you're gonna eat Mountain Cock - cook it right. I'm just sayin'... https://fieldethos.com/no-taste-for-mountain-cock/?utm_klaviyo_id=01K3S0G1GQ8XJT6KWG2BCY9E02&_kx=6WSimuiFvGkvmRsF5BXQiNdUc50IzdzBEBHJ1xGp3Es.Sk3w7V

Didn't know what to do with this one, so I parked it here. What would YOU DO... with a 2,700HP boat?...

The level of Ass Whoopin' that was opened up in 18 hours is unreal. We lost 18 warriors. This account states that they lost thousands. I'd buy that number. Jeff Struecker. I've served with that man, in Afghanistan, Nov 2003, Dec 2003. He was a Captain then, and a US Army Chaplain for 2nd Ranger Bn. The most memorable thing I, myself, heard him say was "Give me that rifle - I'm not a Chaplain anymore... "

This is a great tribute, at the funeral.
-
All the confirmation I needed. I've read the reviews for years, and just never "pulled the trigger..." Pun intended. I'm buying it, brother. Good Intel.

Which one did you go with? I never changed mine, but I've always heard great shiit about this one, and still want to do it... https://wildwestguns.com/products/wwg_trigger_happy_kit_blue

Next weekend, we're dedicating the time to establish a legit, real, 3520 target location. We won't have a target up, but we're surveying everything via laser range finger and ON-X, and we'll have a real 3520 target that we're gonna shoot, in the Spring Shoot. Proof of Concept for the Fall Shoot this year. After next weekend, we'll have 5/8 rebar stakes IN the ground, at 3520 yards from the shooting platform on the hill. Someone is gonna hit it. Right now, I only know of 3 guns that will do it - and Gun Pusher John isn't bringing that .375 Chey Tac out for it... So, we're down to 2... Let's Party...

Got my Ivey mount in. It's a 60-mil mount. It actually dials 68.5 mils, before it hit the internal stop, right after 68.5 mils. This thing is a different world... Everything is about to shake up, for the ELR game we've been dabbling in...

Had some damn great spotters today, for the match. Was a great day. I'm here to talk about something else. You guys remember what I've said, when we started shooting 1 Mile about 4 or 5 years ago. 1760 yards is a Mile. Well, that's a STATUTE Mile. We upped it a couple years ago, and wanted more. More than 1760 yards. So in Jan 2023, we set up 2,000 yards. 2k yards is a NAUTICAL Mile. You guys remember the talk. Run into a guy at a party, that everyone at the party wants you to like, but the stories he tells are kind off... SO, wtf, engage. "Oh yeah man, I shoot a Mile, TOO!" Yeah, really? What are you shooting? What caliber, what's your load, what's your dial - for the Mile" Crickets, and gibberish. The questions backfire, and are redirected back at you. What's YOURS? Oh, easy, for the 1760 Mile, it's just a bare bones Remington 700 Mountain Series with a Timney Trigger, an old-ass Nikon 6-24 scope that's SFP, with an EGW 40 MOA mount, and I have to zero the damn thing at 500 yards, because if the internal scope travel of that Nikon. I'm 16.9 Mils at a Statue Mile, 1760 yards. More crickets. So, you explain the difference between a Statue Mile (1760 yards) and a Nautical Mile (2000 yards) - and you get eyeblinks... Best thing to do is say, "I've smashed both..." Drop the mic and just walk away... @Magwa, I can fully dial 103.1 mils. That's 354.4 MOAs... Pay attention @Matt.Cross... This is a Game Changer... I can almost dial (6 mils short) of 4k yards - with my Slow Load. 300 A-Tips at 2650 fps. Unreal...
