  1. These DB10 receivers are exact copies of Matrix Aerospace receivers (and Matrix made all the Ruger SR-762 receivers), and I have an early Matrix with a DPMS-sized barrel threading on it. However, Matrix released them in both thread patterns. DPMS pattern is 1 7/16" diameter by 16-pitch threading. Armalite AR-10 is 1 7/16" diameter by 18-pitch threading. That's what you need to discover on your upper. The Armalite cut matters - for mating to a lower. In these sets, the threading is what's gonna determine what handguard you need to get, to fit your rifle. Once you know (and tell us) that information, recommendations will come out...
  2. I think you got some Aervoe paint coming, brother... Aveeno is some kinda beauty care products... I used that stuff on my Savage FV-SR, and it's some pretty damn great paint.
  3. As per John By-God Moses Browning.
  4. Shoulda went after that fucker with some oxy/acetylene...
  5. (1) That is completely true, and it happens often. Alot of times, we need more information besides (for example, the most recent I saw today) - "I'm changing from a 20" barrel to a 16" barrel." Very few details other than that - and so much more needs to be found out before recommendations can flow. "Need More Information" isn't a slam against what you're doing, planning, building, or already did - there's THREE different semi-standard patterns to follow in this Big AR platform - and alot of these specific parts don't interchange. The request for details should not be taken as an insult. If it offends you - then we just learned everything about you that we needed to know anyway... (2) Man, THAT is the TRUTH!!! Bro, when he stated "NO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS," he was talking about YOU!...
  6. You need to determine what you have, first. Is that DB10 rifle made for the DPMS-based pattern, or the Armalite AR-10 pattern?...
  7. GI Issue 1911s were only made to shoot 230gr Ball ammo, nothing else - and the feedramps were only for that fatass ball round.
  8. That looks like garbage, and zero specs listed in that ad. It's a 2.500" buffer, for sure, spring is weird... No way. Avoid. CALL Armalite on the phone, and talk to someone there - they might piece a kit together for you and send it. What's out of stock right now (and it really was in stock a few days ago) is the assembled, packaged kit. If they have all the parts there, in stock, to give you a kit, then they will. Or wait until the package-monkey makes more packages of them. I've called them before, then driven up there at lunch and picked up my parts - that weren't in stock. And, they don't have a retail office or do over-the-counter sales... That's saying something - they do care... They're coming back, and they're good. Once they're in full-swing, it'll be great.
  9. My only question is - would it be so hard from a bolt action rifle? If there's a huge difference between extracting that same round from a bolt-action, and from an AR with no gas system, something bad is going on here.
  10. Don't let him pull the trigger until the $$$ is on your hand, brother!... Josh can go WATCH you shoot it... Bring the gun - AND Josh to the Fall Shoot. We'll all shoot it - he doesn't even get to touch the trigger, until you pull the Jesse James shiit on him...
  11. Feedramp angle, period. We know that now. I had some guy come on this board and tell me how badly my Kimber Desert Warrior would perform with hollow-points, because he had all this experience with military 1911s, and it was proven. Believe it or not, I didn't even respond about that - he was out of touch with current reality. I think that was in the thread about that pistol. Whatever, for his "advice"...
  12. Why are you trying to mold a charging handle, man?...
  13. 4.5 years, bro. 4.5 years. You necro'd a dinosaur...
  14. Hmmm... Imagine THAT. Who'da thunk it?
  15. I don't have that choice - it's gonna stick up no matter how I wrap it to keep it down...
  16. Only when it sticks up above the waistband...
  17. Here's a 13.5" Armalite barrel, pinned/welded muzzle brake taking it to 16.1" OAL. It's not a pistol config, and has a buttstock, but it just runs and runs. I'd hunt this gun out to 300 yards, no questions asked. Wouldn't even think twice. They're more than just range toys. This thing rocks.
  18. That's my Nerd Magic, right there - fixing things that shoulda been fixed from the factory before it ever left there.
  19. Pistol-Caliber Carbines, brother. In the "ar pistol" configuration, preferrably.
  20. I'm lucky enough to not own any 10-rounders...
  21. Shouldn't be a lack of lube then. "Good amount" for an AR15 isn't a good amount for these big things, though, so that's subjective. They need to be almost dripping. You also need to carbon seal the gas tube to the gas block, and the gas block to the barrel. To a lesser degree, you carbon seal the end of the gas tube to the carrier key on the BCG, as well. 25 rounds usually isn't enough to do that. More things to consider, when you're looking at the tolerances in manufacturing. Loose gas block?... Gonna take alot of carbon fouling to seal that one up, if it just slid right onto that barrel. Just an example.
  22. Kinda yes. Kinda no. Depends on if you bought 500rds of Hornady Match Brass from him...
  23. It's got Molle webbing on it - and some of them that they offer don't have any sewn pouches on the outside - just Molle webbing. You can add anything you want to those.
