  1. You'll never see news stories about the people that come back and don't have any problems, brother...
  2. They're gonna come out the same way they went in. They were either (1) ready, prepared, and expecting to see/do what they did - trained to see it, counter, it, or mitigate it - or (2) they weren't. Most of those that are the former, have no issues. Most of those that are the latter - it fuks them up, depending on how bad it was.
  3. Congrats, Gents!
  4. VooDoo Tactical padded double-rifle case, 42".
  5. Solid setup, man - well done.
  6. NICE!!!
  7. Bust, again today - no rings for the 375 CheyTac, yet. Waiting patiently, but this will be good. Killin' me, Smalls!!!....
  8. How much lube is on this gun? Needs to be HEAVY with lube for the first bunch o' rounds.
  9. That stuff isn't completely true. Training, training, training - and I'm talking about realistic training. Mindset, which you can train. This could turn into a long conversation.
  10. Bel-Ray Waterproof Grease, or Maxima Waterproof Grease. I keep both on-hand, for all my motorcycle and quad shiit.
  11. I could talk about that for hours, my brother. I can get Loquacious about that topic.
  12. That won't be hard - just talk to us...
  13. I'da been pretty freaked out, man, taking that thing apart and finding that it didn't HAVE a gas port!!! I would'a drilled you one. It would be in the right location, and it would be the right size - but I would'a shiit when I seen that!... I'm glad that's resolved, and you got a real answer. You don't see that much from other companies, when you have to send guns in. You get a bunch of BS from them, instead... Great news.
  14. I see you are a student of LTC Dave Grossman. As am I, my brother.
  15. Shims let you get it aligned at the lower end of the torque range. I wouldn't want to put one on at 80 - if I got close to that, I'd shim it and hit a lower number. Military Armorer's slam service rifles together routinely, and if it's going to 80 to make it - then it's going to 80. The only reason I wouldn't wanna put one on at 80 is because that fucker has to come apart sometime. Taking Greg's SBR upper apart was a tough one - but it came apart. All parts salvaged, nothing broke - but it sucked.
  16. That's wild. I can see getting so nervous or shaken that you mess the powder charge up - I can see that easily. Spill more than you charge. There's a reduced charge, right there, waiting to be fired, and not get a projo out of that long barrel. Or, next to last step before you fire, you don't notice that you missed the cap, dropped the cap, or didn't seat the cap - and it falls out. Last step, you don't take it from half-cocked to full-cock and try to fire it - reduced hammer speed... Alot can contribute to that, but I never, ever knew there were that many problems. That's pretty eye-opening... 😮
  17. That's the nasty I was talking about. This is a bad scene...
  18. Proper torque for an AR barrel nut has a range of 30~80 lb/ft. It's possible to align it. Shouldn't be hard, with a range as broad as that.
  19. It's been doing very well with the initial 195gr HPBT loads that I made up for it. It's probably got 500 rounds through it so far, and I only know that based on having about half a box of 195s left, out of the initial 6 boxes I got for it. About 40 of those projos went into .308 Win load testing. It's far from looking like that pic above, that was just a quick pic I could find from Remington. Here's what it looks like right now, weird angles and all... It's about 2 weeks away from getting some serious paint on it.
  20. No, not an AR. It's The Rem 700 Long Range model. I've had it for a year and a half, but haven't put much time into load development.
  21. That's gonna get really nasty. There's no way RUAG can come up with a legal defense of what they've done with this...
  22. I wish you hadn't said that, HotRod... Now I need to find those things... That's the exact same technology that they use to make the .50 BMG 750gr projectiles. I've been wondering if that tech was gonna "trickle down" to other calibers - and it now has!
