I had to close that video. I have a very hard time listening to people state their opinion on incoming gunfire - where it's coming from, what caliber, rate of fire, etc. - when that's the very first time they've ever been in the situation of receiving incoming gunfire. One guy was saying that he knows what it sound like, and the difference, of bullets impacting the ground, and bullets impacting bodies. He even stated that alot more bullets were impacting bodies than the ground, over the rounds fired. I had to close the damn vid. I'd like for those people to (safely) stand out in a mock city, and have trained people in one shooting location fire different weapons platforms OVER them - then ask them... "Where did that round come from?..." They wouldn't know. Not a clue.

I like the 2-color idea you text me, brother - that would be perfect! Zero rush, seriously. If you get the machine, and you get the time, that would be awesome.
-
You're talking about a minimal amount removed with normal lapping. Bolt is headspaced off the extension, and I guess I used the wrong words. You get crazy on the lapping, and literally take off a piece of the upper receiver (lap too much), and you'll move the whole barrel back - you can get into issues if too much is lapped, barrel moves rearward, and your cam pin isn't indexing in the cutout in the upper receiver. That cutout looks huge in the upper, but the cam pin uses almost all that space to rotate and lock the bolt into the extension.

Brother, you live down there where you could REALLY appreciate this one. I've been watching NRE - Nelson Racing Engines- for about 10 years. Unreal horsepower. This is a 2500hp airboat for YOU, brother...

Blue. Is. Fucked. Walther Whore that he is, I think I'll get to shoot this pistol, when I get to shoot with him again... It's already done, and he's getting it...

Jacob, I will help offset the cost of the new machine you just bought. If you can get me a sling in the next 2 weeks, before all these assheads invade my personal space again, I will pay extra, brother. I need the same sling you made for me on the Pig Puncher. This one: For a rush order, if you can do it, I'll shoot you a hundred bucks right now, brother. I need that same sling, in the worst way...

Some of that is coming up soon... I can't wait...

Lapping receivers has been done on 5.56 competition guns or a LONG time. .308 AR receiver lapping tools are NEW. We've been looking for them for a long time, based on the 5.56 stuff, but there haven't been any. Until recently. Do they work? Well, they don't NOT WORK. On 5.56 guns. That's what it comes to. No one here has lapped any .308 AR projects yet, and given any results. Haven't seen one yet, here. Will they work? Yeah, just like they work on 5.56 guns. Some, more than others. What it really comes to is how true your upper receiver is made, from the get-go. Lapping the upper receiver corrects imperfections in the mating surface of the barrel extension, which IS square, to an imperfect upper receiver mating surface that WAS NOT square - that is the only time you see an accuracy increase in this process. EDIT - Oh, by the way - you lap the shiit out of your upper receiver, like WAY too much, and you WILL decrease your headspace. You can't get around that. It will happen. You WILL move that barrel extension closer to the bolt face when you do this. You go excessive, and you WILL change headspace...
-
This is all REALLY NEW conversation, and to my own knowledge, this has been tested by NOBODY here. Yet. Never been done befo'... Don't sweat that shiit, in the least. Build your gun. Shoot your gun. Find out what it needs/wants.

Here's that interview...

My rationale is easy. If you open carry a firearm, there's ALWAYS some shiithead out there that might stupidly think, "I can take him..." When motherfuckers see you walking with a bag and a tomahawk secured to it, they immediately think, "FUK THAT! That asshead has a tomahawk!"... I open carry always, anyway. WAY more than I conceal. But the tomahawk is always there, easy to get to. No Shiit, There I Was...
-
Hell yes, it does. Tomahawk. Get 'em! Numbers (2) and (19) in the Standing Orders of Roger's Rangers. This says it all... I really do EDC a tomahawk. I'm pretty sure Rob does, too. This bag goes everywhere I go. Everyone that's been to a shoot out here knows this bag is always near me.

I've got two of these mounts, and love them. They're offsets, like JT mentioned. Still mounted at 9 on the rail, but the light sits up higher. Very easy to activate with left thumb, and the higher mounts makes it easier to get to when running the gun opposite. Reach over with right thumb.

The Ruger Precision Rifle has it's own safety bulletin out right now, brother - aluminum bolt shroud causing cycling/cocking interference. https://ruger.com/dataProcess/rprSafety/index.php

I can tell you right now, we had Soldiers IN the Army that didn't even have their green card yet... Not even legal, in any way. That was pre-2005. I lost my shiit when I found that out. I kept the proof, too. If I disappear, edgecrusher knows where it's at...

Mad Dog put a stop to this. I can talk about this for hours, and I'll spill some of it around the campfire in a few more weeks. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/10/15/pentagon-revamps-program-that-puts-immigrant-recruits-on-path-to-us-citizenship.html " Defense Secretary Jim Mattis is revamping a program that puts foreign-born recruits on a fast-track to U.S. citizenship in exchange for military service as doctors, nurses and language experts. " ^^^ That part bolded above was my forte, and my nightmare, during my last 1.5 years in the Army... It's the primary reason I said Fuk It, and threw paperwork to retire... " Mattis made the announcement Friday in regard to the Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest, or MAVNI, program, which was halted last year when the Pentagon assessed it did not have proper safeguards in place against potential insider threats, the Military Times reported. " You guys have no idea how many waves I made, and how many senior motherfuckers I pissed off, by preaching that point exactly. There were no safeguards, and screening sucked...

I called the death of the Keymod system several years ago, right here. Knew it. I based it on how hard MagPul was pushing the "free licensing" of the design, and primarily on the ease of machining - M-LOK is much easier to machine, over keymod, from a CNC-programming point of view. Who knew that M-LOK was actually stronger, and SOCOM would test and adopt M-LOK over Keymod?... http://www.guns.com/2017/05/15/keymod-vs-m-lok/ http://soldiersystems.net/2017/05/05/details-on-the-ussocom-sponsored-keymod-vs-m-lok-test-conducted-at-nswc-crane/

They are in the process of realizing that, as we speak (type), brother... Here's some of their new rails. It's the KMR, but M-LOK instead... BCM MCMR - M-LOK Compatible Modular Rail... https://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-MCMR-M-LOK-MLOK-Handguard-s/227.htm I think they'll hang onto the KMR forever, though. Every ad you see in any gun mag says "Keymod is here!" like it's something new...

Anyone on the fence about a 25-45 Sharps AR - check this out. Barrel sale right now on 16" barrels, and 10& off/free shipping on 100rds of ammo.

Haven't updated this in awhile. I'm only a Genuine Armalite AR-10 BCG away from firing this one. Need a permanent set of folding sights, and a sling, after that - and she's done. This is one solid little .308 Carbine.

Who knew that Hogue made knives? I didn't, until last week. Long story on that, I'll tell it around the campfire in a few weeks. I picked up two of them to try out, one folder and one fixed blade. https://www.hogueinc.com/knives

Depends on light activation more than anything, brother, on rifles. With a tape switch, you can put the light anywhere. I don't like remote switches, and don't use them. I place the light on the 9 position on almost all my rifles (with lights), just for left hand, support hand, activation with my left thumb. Old 1998~2003-ish days in the Army, I had the issued Surefire light on the 3 position, always used the KAC vertical grip. With your left hand around the vertical grip, it was easy to get to the tailcap on the Surefire with my left thumb, on the right side of the rail. Easier to use ambi that way, too, if you needed to run the gun opposite. Terrain, obstacles, and shooter preference account for where you mount your light on the rifle. There will always be some masking and shadows, unless you're running the light at the very end of the barrel.

You just wait, mister. YOU ARE SHOOTING THE CRICKETT CHALLENGE...
