  1. You won't have to headspace and time your own barrel - no way. Not on these things. Maybe on your own M2 HB, but not these. SSA may not check headspace, and they were probably trying to get the word out that you need to check your own headspace with the proper gauges. Always to that on a .308 AR build, or have it done for you. Too many variances across this platform to take the chance. Rainier Arms and Fulton Armory will do that for you, as well as a few other places. Buy your bolt and barrel from the same place, or buy the barrel and send them your bolt. Both of those places will do that; contact them ahead of time if you're sending in your own bolt. As a general rule, if you use an Armalite-patterned barrel, you have to use the Armalite-patterned bolt. DPMS-patterned barrel, DPMS-patterned bolt.

Mmmmmmm.... BAAAAAAACON! I need a few of these little bastards.
  3. Did you find the replacement T-Top?... What the hell did THAT run ya?
  4. The Merchant of Doubt returns!!! :hethan: Missed you, brother!!!
  5. <lmao>
  6. You need to call Aero Precision and find out - some accounts are that their pivot and takedown pins are a different length than DPMS LR308 pins (which are identical length/diameter to Armalite AR-10 pins). Aero knows - give 'em a shout and then let us know what they say. 253-272-8188.
  7. Too many places out there doing this. Some are legit, and some suck. You'll need to list the specific places (link them), and we'll be able to give you feedback based from that. Don't waste the time linking anything from Vulcan/Blackthorne/Hesse. Just stay away from them, for your own safety and sanity.
  8. Jacob, I've got a plan cookin' - I'll upload a pic later, and you tell me what you can do with it. Blue Force Gear padded VTAC is what we'll be working with. <thumbsup>
  9. <lmao> Hell yeah, TRUTH!
  10. The T2 will work on an Armalite AR-10 Carbine. Because Armalite uses a different carbine receiver extension. The T2 will not work in a DMPS-based .308 AR Carbine configuration, because the receiver extension is a standard AR-15 part (7" internal depth). ^^^ That's what happened. AR-10s and DPMS LR 308 platforms are different in a few ways, and that's one of them.
  11. I've gotta try this... <lmao>
  12. Not sure, but I don't think he meant to let that one loose...
  13. OUCH! TWICE!
  14. Yeah, that's for damn sure...
  15. There really is an easy answer to both of these comments. I can't believe it's not obvious... <lmao>
  16. HO LEE SHEIIT!!!
  17. Jon, I swear that vid has been posted on this board before... I kid you not... I think you've done it again!!! <lmao>
  18. <lmao> His wallet really does say BAD MOTHERFUCKER on it... :hail:
  19. Hmmmm.... reveal the news, brother!
  20. Which Spike's buffer did you buy? They make 5.56 carbine buffers - which would work in an Armalite AR-10 Carbine (using a 7 5/8" internal depth carbine receiver extension). I'm not aware of Spike's making any DPMS-based .308 AR buffers. The appropriate weight buffer for a .308 AR carbine is H3-weighted, also. If the Spike's is the T2, it's not heavy enough for standard .308 AR Carbine operations.
  21. Awesome interview with Conan - seriously. Pay attention at 2:39... "I'm just a monkey on a gun,,," <lmao> Incredibly humble guy. What a loss.
  22. I suspect there will be ALOT more revealed during SHOT... <thumbsup>
  23. You'll be very well into the "capable range" of 600 yards with a 16" barrel. Even a 14.5" barrel will do it well, with you doing your part. 300 will be effortless.
  24. I need to load up a BUNCH of 5.56 and stack that thing up against the SureFire 60. <thumbsup>
