  1. Found a bunch of different loads here - lots of info: http://www.handloads.com/loaddata/default.asp?Caliber=45-70&Weight=All&type=Rifle&Order=Powder&Source DAMN!!! JACKPOT!!! http://www.loaddata.com/loads/45-70caliberloads.html
  2. You're gonna need the camera, brother. :))

It'll happen, and once it does, there will be a writeup about it. It'll be something like this one: https://armyranger.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=20781 Or these others: https://armyranger.com/bb/viewforum.php?f=70
  4. I'll have to save for that - probably can't get that before this trip coming up. We'll just have to muscle through it and load by hand. We'll keep the projectiles close by. Well, as close as we can, anyway. It'll work alright.

This guy is worth a trip to Philly. Some Ranger will do it - gotta be someone that lives within driving distance, and they'll make the trip.
  6. You're going to have the chance to play with ALOT of stuff, brother. ALOT.
  7. AR-15s/M-16s/M-4 variants aren't like that. They're the cotter-pin-type. The .308 ARs started out with the split-pin setup you've now seen. It was all about manufacturing money, like Fark stated.

***dude didn't realize he was posting in the SI Defense section... <lmao> *** ***clicky, clicky, type, type, type... BAM!!! *** :hethan:
  9. I understand the frustration, man - I really do. Not trying to attack you, so please don't take it that way. Trying to help you here... Can you lock that thing to the rear or not?
  10. Not really - just charge through the brush like a pissed off bear - or a "normal" deer, or a beaver. Maybe like a caveman... Nothing is gonna hang you up, man. Go after it like you mean it... <lmao> They can't stop you. They can only hope to contain you... :hethan:
  11. Mega doesn't put out bad parts. There's no way they made a narrow channel for the charging handle, or made a wide charging handle, and wouldn't catch that before they ship. No way.
  12. Can you lock the bolt to the rear? Fight it back, lock it, lock sticking-charging-handle forward. Load mag. Release bolt catch. Fire weapon repeatedly. Reload with full mag, repeat. That thing will break in sooner or later, without cutting on the charging handle. Shoot it, man, instead of trying to diagnose dragging on new parts on an unfired rifle.
  13. I'm almost there. I'll try lasers first, and have them carve my eyeballs all up. If they can make my eyes glow red like Terminator, then I'm IN!
  14. The charging handle doesn't reciprocate - it'll shoot if your BCG isn't binding.
  15. I'm off next Tuesday. Will relieve you of current situation with lowers that don't sell... <lmao>
  16. PIcs, or it didn't happen... <lmao>
  17. Chaser, Croaker - have either of you guys shot your rifles yet? Go put rounds downrange, with the appropriate amount of lube in the new rifle.
  18. Fucking holding out again, I see. Pics for Proof Of Life, or you might be bull$hitting... <lmao> DDLES, hands down. Fucking AWESOME pistol mag lowers, and local AZ boys to boot. <thumbsup>
  19. Awesome upper receiver to use on a 9mm build.
  20. That's called "astigmatism..." <dontknow>
  21. We dominate this place, hands down. Both in quality content and member numbers... <lmao> I was in Sierra Vista for years, but I'm closer to the center of the state now. There are some people here that are very close to Hereford. You'll need to let us know when you'll be making that trip, and we'll set up a shoot close by. Not many places to shoot down there now, with all the illegals-bull$hit, closures, BLM crackdowns (on idiots that can't respect land), etc. Sierra Vista Shooting Range gets you steel targets out to 575 yards. Jon, Greg and I have shot at a place not far away that can get you out to 1,200 yards, if you so choose. We'll set something up, and travel in when you're in the area. You might be so freaked out by the hospitailty that you'll buy land in the area and move for good... That might seem funny, but it's currently happening to another guy here... <laughs>
  22. Nah, that is DC, man. The mentality is hellish, at best. I feel for you. I was in Hoodbridge for awhile, in a nice area. Hated rush hour on weekends, no matter what. Worked in Falls Church. 24 miles from house to work, 1.5 hours minimum, on a damn motorcycle. Not long after I got slammed into at a stop light, I packed my $hit up and left. Eff that place, and the whole area. Anyway, welcome aboard. I've got a good range for you to hit up, if you don't know about it. You'll have to wait for spring for it to open back up, but it's alright.
  23. For a complete rifle, you'll need to stick to what your police allow you to have. As far as midifications to that rifle, I think you'll be in bad shape - don't think you'll be able to buy many aftermarket parts. The overwhelming majority of companies that manufacture the aftermarlet parts are US companies, and as a result, the ITAR will fuk you. Don't know what those rifles will cost you, but I can't imagine any of them will be inexpensive, considering your laws. I'd go Armalite, because you'll at least be able to reach a company rep and talk about any issues - issues that probably won't happen anyway. My $0.02.
  24. Looks like Mr Henry took all his posts and left. My Grandpa always said, "Nobody likes a quitter." Grandpa was a wise old man, and shot a 30-06, too. As will I choose that cartridge, over the .270, based on the much broader range of loads that are available, for the same rifle. Makes the rifle more versatile, IMHO. Then again, WTF do I know?... <dontknow>
