Cali_Ed Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Hey guys, Well I have this old beater honda civic with about 240k on it. Very good on gas. My question to you guys is, would you guys fix it up? For example new shocks or springs, touch up the fading black parts with some black spray. Maybe get it repainted? or would it all be a waste? I'm thinking I wanna keep this car until it completely craps out. BUT, I kinda want something diffent, I want to potentially buy a 1970s z and fix it up (money pit). Just something about those cars so sexy. BUT BUT, I also want something newer but hate the thought of being in debt.
edgecrusher Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 FaaAaarrrttt Pipe and a rear Wing ! That's a negative ghost rider, the pattern is full. Fix it if it'll be less than 3500, otherwise move on.
MikedaddyH Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Since Ed hasn't posted a pic of his car then ... Well you knew I just had too !
Cali_Ed Posted March 7, 2015 Author Report Posted March 7, 2015 Lol hell no to a fart pipe and wing, ill take a picture of the beater when I leave for work. Also wanted like a 95 4runner so I can keep fishing gear in there and such but they kill gas like no other

AdamO Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Just put oil in it and drive it till she pukes. At 240k on the clock, that time is drawing near.... even for a Honda. My Accord bit it ar 238k and my old Camry beater bit it at 260.

Cali_Ed Posted March 7, 2015 Author Report Posted March 7, 2015 It's not as easy as 1 2 3 here in California, ypu have to jump through a bunch of hoops to buy either a legal turbo kit of sorts or let's say swap a motor. I would love to turbo it though
Sisco Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Drive it into the ground, put the money you would spend on a new car in the bank. Then get yourself something a little nicer when it dies with the extra money.

Rsquared Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 My god man. Let it blow up...and then buy something American for Christ's sake. Our gas is cheap.
Cali_Ed Posted March 7, 2015 Author Report Posted March 7, 2015 Only American car I'd want would be a 1967 maro
98Z5V Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 Ed, keep doing routine oil/filter changes, keep a clean air filter in it, and run it until it drops. However, I'm with mike on this one...
