shepp
I guess it don't really matter cuz it's black which automatically means it shoots 3000 rounds a sec, and it takes a 300 round clip, plus the tip is shiny to divert your attention from being shot in the face. In in all honesty that things sweet, I've always loved carbon fiber my bike is fitted with a few bits. That barrel is seexxxxy!!!
jrtMA
I decided to go with Brownells for an X-22 Backpacker when the price dropped to $90. I've been in love with the Backpacker since holding a few at the NRA Convention this year. Nice job as usual by Magpul. Any other ideas here for where to go for a high end barrel (trigger, etc...) besides what has been posted? I don't want to go crazy but would like something better than a standard Ruger 10/22. I looked at Volquartsen products but DSG had a great sale on a Tactical Solutions combo earlier this year. It sells for over $750 but they had it below $600 at one point. Should have bought it then. https://www.magpul.com/products/firearms-accessories/buttstocks/x-22-backpacker-stock-ruger-10-22-takedow https://dsgarms.com/tstte-02-nostk Edited December 30, 2017 by jrtmasp
unforgiven
setting up a 10-22 with all the bells and whistles is not cheap. I have 2 one in MagPul's stocks.
Robocop1051
I don’t see a lot of advantages of going beyon th BX system. I’d stick with the standard receiver, bolt and trigger... upgrade the charging handle, magazine release and the barrel. I thought about a backpacker a well. It’s all about weight at that point and not “features”. I REALLY like the TacSol X-Ring TD w/ open sights. I think it’s about 1 pound. Your whol rifle shoul weigh less than 4 pounds (if you stay away from optics.
98Z5V
I'm a gigantic fan of the Grandmasters LLC Power Custom 10/22 triggers. I've got two of their titanium full action kits, and one trigger (only) assembly. Great stuff. The trigger-only one is in a full TacSol X-Ring 10/22. Damn is that thing light, even with a Nikon .22LR BDC 3-9 scope on it. Check out their stuff: http://powercustom.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=36 This is really all you need from them, for a great 10/22 trigger: http://powercustom.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36&products_id=82 Edited December 31, 2017 by 98Z5V
