Did you have the option of swapping out the palm swell? I shoot both the fnx tactical in 45 as well as G21. My problem with the fnx was the grip as well, but with the larger swells it can give you a more aggressive wrist angle sending more energy to your arms and shoulders. This makes it feel similar to the glock and much more comfortable to shoot. Edited January 14, 2017 by B0fuh
Sisco
FN actually used the Colt 1911 as a model for the grip angle for the FNX 45 Tactical.

I've never actually fired a 1911. It doesn't loook fun to shoot, miles of sex appeal though.

For pure shooting pleasure you can't beat a well tuned 1911!
B0fuh
Hahahaha, I've been told that before. Maybe one of these days I'll put one to work at the local indoor range.
Sisco
I like my FNX, but shooting a 1911 is embracing our history for the last 100 years with every shot. It is more than just a handgun. I just have to always tear it away from my son at the range. At least until his next birthday, then I will solve that.

You make me want to say the pledge of allegiance before sitting down and having a liberty sized plate of freedom fries and bacon on my my Stars and Stripes theme table cloth covered picnic table made from the wood of the cherry tree that George Washington himself chopped down. Too bad too. It likely would've saved me from ever buying a Glock. Now I'm stuck with my G41 MOS as a consolation. While was in line today at the Pistol Parlor I looked at the FN then the Glock 40. The Glock 40 was on sale for $599 ,so it just was that much better.
Robocop1051
I think a 10mm conversion is necessary for my 41. I'm thinking something in the 6" realm. Perhaps ported... or even, dare I, thread and compensated.

I've seen a couple gentleman at the uspsa shoots shooting a 10mm, one guy converted it between courses of fire for a little extra pop on the far steel. It was impressive to say the least. Have you ever seen the .460 Rowland conversion for the 21? Its said to be nearly equal to semi automatic .44 magnum. That sounds like a good time too. From what I know about the .460 Rowland, you can rechamber nearly any 45ACP to the .460, which is just a slightly longer case, but same COAL. Plus you can still shoot the .45ACP out of a .460 chamber.... But, I could be wrong. I haven't done the work, nor do I know anyone who has. Robocop1051
Tell me about it bro. I've looked into it several times. I'm willing to invest the time and money, I just need the space. The wife and I have been hunting for a new pad (mainly because we're breeding like jackrabbits) and I'm hoping some reloading space is available in the next place.
