Damn those Tundras are expensive! I bought my 2012 Ram 1500 back in 2013 for $21,000!

Hemi, Rams are getting up there as well. A 2015 tradesman Ram 1500 summer of 2016 was getting $32,000 with no miles. My 2015 Laramie limited 1500 Crew was $36,000 with 7600 miles last July.

No comments from me, I just keep driving my '98 Chevy 1/2 ton....no payments, small repairs, and it keeps movin' along.

It does help that both my sons are mechanics, and one of my best friends is a top notch Chevy mechanic.

I agree.  For the cost of one payment, I can get cushy new seats.  Another two payments, dif lockers.

"C-A-R" dealers are 3/5s a crack dealer.  They just need you to keep a job so the money keeps rolling in.

I just bought a 2016 Ram 2500 4X4 turbo diesel crew cab that was a year old for $40,000. They gave me $14,000 trade in on the 2012 1500.

I bought my wife a new 2014 Dodge Journey and it and my Harley are the only brand new vehicles I've ever bought! I have always gone with the 1 year old vehicles, I hate paying for the depreciation of a new vehicle. I read an article the other day that said on the average, a new vehicle depreciates 28% on the drive from the dealership to your driveway!

Yea I have zero interest in buying a new vehicle, that's the main reason. Back when warranties were 50-60,000 miles around here you could get a 3-4 year old Silverado with 55,000 miles on it for a great price. Some guy from the plant would buy it drive it to work everyday trade it in before the warranty was up.

Im sorry hemi but I'd rather walk than drive a dodge product, I know they're getting better but they don't last up here. There's a Chrysler plant down the road in belvidere so you get down that way any there's a lot of Chrysler products and a lot with rust and shit paint

Wait, wait, wait. You'd rather have a F-ing toyota than a Dodge?  I'd rather push a dodge (and I'm not a mopar guy) than ever be seen in a meatball-on-the-door toyota. I don't care where they build those damn things, or what kind of brain-washing commercials they try to jam down the American public. They're NOT American. They never have been, and they never will be. They can have ALL of that Japanese crap. Hell.....I won't even ride in one of those things.

Not a personal attack brother. I'm just a hard headed type of guy when it comes to japanese vehicles. Mikedaddy can attest to that. We argued for a good amount of time about that......in the desert.......while drinking.....and armed no less. :lmao:

That was funny as hell. Me bashing Fords and him bashing Jap vehicles. The funny thing is this fall he's riding in a f ing Mitsu from the airport to Tom's house.

I'm done with Fords. Two pickups and a pos car. Leased a 1999 Ranger for 39 months and bought it after the lease was over because we put too many miles on it. Must consider that also, if you lease.

Some Dodge are too heavy to push ! Like Tom's truck. I have had 6 mopars and only pushed one about 50 feet and it was too damm heavy.

Wait a minute. Is that the one with the $hit tires? Fuk! ECR-1 (the Ford) may just might have to make another trip out west. AND we'll have Rene as a co-pilot this time along with Matt to keep the two of us degenerates in check.. LET THE DRINKING BEGIN! You fukers will definitely be in trouble with the two of us. That's ALREADY been proven.

*disclaimer* - I think I've already proved my drinking ability.

Rene makes it x2

No, this 4x4 has 3 1/2" of ground clearance.

I have nothing but good experiences with the Fords I have & owned , I have had issues with GM & Dodge ( especially Dodge ) , though the 1978 power Wagon I owned was one of the best Trucks I have ever had . I wouldn't trade my 05 F150 for any of them .

# 1 selling truck in the world, F150 , for a long ,long time , I guess its because they are junk !:laffs:

Had a '77 5/4 ton M880-series.  Loved that truck!  Couldn't push that beast though.

I have had GM, Jeep, International, Ford and Ram SUV's and trucks. To be honest, Jeep are the worst. Internationals rusted out before they had a chance to break down. Ram/Dodge until 2003 had transmission problems and until 2008 rear quarter panels that rusted out due to defective welds. GM and Fords had their issues as well. Now I think it is a coin flip. All of their quality has jumped in the last five years. Ram's technology has finally caught up. Can't talk about Japanese trucks as,I have never had one except for a Mitubishi Montero SUV and I was not impressed. Like my wife's awd Infiniti M37x though, fast and comfortable.

Don't waste your time with carfax. It's a voluntary program that nobody is required to report to. I traded in my Mazda back in 13 and it had been run into while parked in front of my house...to the tune of $12.5k fix that should have totaled a car worth about $12k. History report came back "one owner, no accidents" when I traded it in.

I had a 1979 F100 custom 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 400W engine on 35" tires it was called the Beast. Was the son's truck of a Ford dealer here. I broke à couple of parts and it was extremely hard to get replacement parts for that truck. Fun truck to drive got 8 to 10 mpg was glad to get rid of it !

My '69 F100, 302 and 3 on the floor, broke a small carb linkage clip.  Nobody had one.  Not Ford, not parts stores (all of them), not the hot rod shops.  Ended up grinding the spot where the clip went and made a custom one from ss wire.

I'm surprised you didn't like your little '99 Ranger.  I love mine!  When I'm not hating it.

But it's been that way with any vehicle I've owned, any make.  Somewhere around 30.  I think.

The 99 Ranger had 142k miles on it when sister in law wrecked it in 2006. Truck would tip backwards with a load of 500 lbs. That was the only drawback.

That thing must have been a custom! I've never heard of a 3/4 ton F100!

I've had Chevys, Fords and Dodge's (even worked at Chevy dealerships for 5 years back when we were called mechanics, NOT that pussyassed B.S. service tech schit) and I'll take my Ram over a Ford or Chevy any day. It's all pretty much personal opinions though, with all the technical crap on them nowadays it's almost impossible to work on any of them yourself and they all have their faults. I honestly don't think one brand is a fart in the wind better than the other. I'm with Ron on the Toyota thing, I WON'T own one, even if the thing is made here in the U.S.

F   ing Canadian Widsor truck. Had to get parts every time something broke from Ontario. Cost $20 a day for gas , loud as fu ck with straight pipes. Tires gave you a headache. The seat was neck high. Ride was rough and harsh. But that engine purred...600 plus ponies, no BS !
