shepp
Left there thurs morning and made my way to boulder (I’m still convinced Utah is the most beautiful state I’ve been thru)
shepp
spent thurs thru Saturday morning in the boulder area. Beautiful country stupid fucking people. I was suppose to meet a friend and do some breweries but he was sick so I woke up Friday morning and decided I was going to look for elk so I went up to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. I did find some cows and a few spikes in the park (those pix are on my good camera still) but no bulls so I went to the golf course in Estes Park and found a nice bull. Then stopped at Estes Park Brewery had a beer and left (service was horrible)
Armed Eye Doc
Very nice scenery through there. Looks like you had a great return trip...except losing things at the end.

The motel kind of across the street in not a bad place to stay. Sunset from the balcony of our room.
shepp
Woke up sat morning and headed to Oskar blues for a tap room only release (I shoulda been on the road at 6am). Release opened at 10 I was the fourth in line, got my beer and got on the road Home, bring in nothing for 950 miles. I did see 2500-3000 Canadian with snow geese sprinkled in between the co boarder and western neb. As I posted in the vets day post I made a five min detour to freedom rock in Iowa, felt it was somthing I needed to take a moment to do on Veterans Day. Made it home at 1:15 am Sunday morning roughly 4500 Miles 12 states and damn near 11 days later I made it home

bubbas4570
Traveling without too much of a plan is great, that way you can make time for the really interesting things. Colorado is on my list for places to not go again, and service is the main reason. Too many dopeheads just not giving a f ¥ ck about doing anything wherever I stopped 2 years ago. I can deal with the pot heads it’s the libtards that drive me nutty. Thing is Denver area is a half way point for me when traveling out that far. I did stop in Amarillo on my way out, I was there in the dark and left in the dark but my impression of it was dirty and sketchy atleast where my hotel was. You got the correct impression of Amarillo. There were a lot of "refugees" put there during the last administration.
mrmackc
Some of they are working in meat packing plants like beef only ones. Their antics in local Wal-Mart's are thinning them out, Amarillo is NOT a sanctuary city.

The guy who checked me into my hotel was one of them he spent 5 min on a personal call speaking his “native tongue” before helping me. All I wanted was a shower and bed, and I was about to invoke a jihad on him. If i ever stay there again I will look for somthing closer to the west side it looked nicer over there I was close to the airport and my gps took me outta my hotel “the back way” it was dark but didn’t look like a “good” area. Lessons learned and all part of the adventure.
mrmackc
We haven't stayed on the South East side since LBJ closed Amarillo AFB because the Texas Panhandle area voted Republican. Once nice business and Motels turned to carp. Only the Big Texan has prospered along with gas stations.

unforgiven
We were going to Palo duro state park in Amarillo. It was about 120* I'm in a 92 Jeep Laredo. About 75 miles out my temp gauge had been leaning to the hot side. Rear seat flips up, I had a can of fix a flat.My mom sez her ass is on fire I hear a hiss and pull over. The can of fix a flat is getting ready to let go I throw it out and we go. Had to kill the air and run the heat to make it to town.Made it to a garage, guy shows me how the city salt had corroded the radiator. He put in a larger one and had me ready to go the next day. The people there were great. Went through there again going to New Mexico.
