blue109 Posted March 23, 2019 Report Posted March 23, 2019 Wallyworld is blowing out lots of camping gear. I know ozark trail isnt the best brand in the game...but I just scored this ginormous 12 person tent for $49. Did a "soft" setup and its huge but pretty easy to get it together. Pretty thin but good for fair weather camping with the fam. Has a built in LED light kit that runs on D batteries. I wouldnt have bought it for the original price, or even the sale price but for $50 clearance I couldnt say no. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-12-Person-Base-Camp-Tent-with-Light/444263357?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222228148537039&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=260241385340&wl4=pla-430439337335&wl5=1013462&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=444263357&wl13=&veh=sem
98Z5V Posted March 23, 2019 Report Posted March 23, 2019 Is that the in-store price, brother? Showing at $165 for me, through that link.
edgecrusher Posted March 23, 2019 Report Posted March 23, 2019 Shows up as $165 for me. I’d venmo you $50 and pay for shipping if you grab one for me at that price
blue109 Posted March 23, 2019 Author Report Posted March 23, 2019 I had heard they were on clearance but they were out of stock all over tucson. I was in showlow last weekend and we were at the wally so I decided to look and they had 2 on the shelf listed at $120. I asked the guy to scan them and they came back at $49 so I grabbed one for me and one for my inlaws.
blue109 Posted March 23, 2019 Author Report Posted March 23, 2019 @98Z5V @edgecrusher What are your zip codes? Ill see if any show in stock near you
98Z5V Posted March 23, 2019 Report Posted March 23, 2019 I tried to check everything around me - nada. Can you check 85043?
blue109 Posted March 23, 2019 Author Report Posted March 23, 2019 If you surf around on brickseek.com you can search out in-store clearance deals for your area. Down side is it may show inventory but when you drive over there you cant find it. Its a real pain in the ass sometimes. This is how I scored my $40 leupold and nikon binos.
blue109 Posted March 23, 2019 Author Report Posted March 23, 2019 @98Z5V You have a good shot. BS Is showing a bunch near you https://brickseek.com/p/ozark-trail-12-person-base-camp/5593818#in-store-offers
98Z5V Posted March 23, 2019 Report Posted March 23, 2019 Damn, taking a road trip today, brother! Thanks!
blue109 Posted March 23, 2019 Author Report Posted March 23, 2019 You might have to ask. They are usually in the back. There was actually only one on the shelf in sholow and the other was in the back but the employee was totally cool and went and grabbed it for me
blue109 Posted March 23, 2019 Author Report Posted March 23, 2019 They had some 3 man tents down to $15 but I couldnt find any. Its worth a look.
blue109 Posted March 23, 2019 Author Report Posted March 23, 2019 The kids dont want to take it down lol. We set it up with half the poles just to get a feel for assembly.
edgecrusher Posted March 23, 2019 Report Posted March 23, 2019 If Tom is going today I may make him grab me one
blue109 Posted March 23, 2019 Author Report Posted March 23, 2019 (edited) @edgecrusher Slim picking. Limited stock means they probably just have one on the shelf or a display model. I haven't had good luck scoring limited stock deals. These things are heavy though. Shipping might suck pretty bad. Edited March 23, 2019 by blue109
Sisco Posted March 23, 2019 Report Posted March 23, 2019 I have used Ozark Trail tents for canoe camping. They won't stand up to expedition style punishment, but they keep you dry. And most people aren't going to climb McKinley with one. Congrats on a good deal!

Hell yea!!
Armed Eye Doc Posted March 23, 2019 Report Posted March 23, 2019 You might look for these as well. I got 4 of them for $9 each.
sketch Posted March 24, 2019 Report Posted March 24, 2019 you campers without trees! once you hammock camp you wont go back. my bro and i are trying to design a rig that mounts to an suv rack. let the short kids sleep in the back of the rig and enjoy a hammock peacefully out side!. I've slept in down poors in a hammok and love the rain now. when your tent soakes up all that weather it weighs more. thats a good price for a big tent! we set one up for a shitter bucket..
blue109 Posted March 24, 2019 Author Report Posted March 24, 2019 I just took it down and actually got it all back in the bag! Id be cool with hammock camping but its going to take some work to get the fam out. I figure the mansion tent will help.

It was no problem with our 2 boys and the 2 girls, but their Mom wasn't used to not having the comforts of her home. I eased her into it, rented a travel trailer (no Bathroom, but it had a cookstove sink fridge and table) we went to San Antonio for the HemisFair in June of 1968. After that it was a go anywhere bunch. Now after 53 years with me, she can't stand to be hemmed up in any kind of a city or even a town of over 3,000 population. Edited March 26, 2019 by mrmackc

You got me there Bud. You do fit in there okay,...who really knows how many blanks he shoots, and how many could have been really good swimmers? We didn't worry a lot about a STD like HIV, a massive dose of penicillin would cure about anything except the ass chewing the old Gunny had waiting for you when the Shore Patrol took you "home" after you failed the short arms inspection I myself escorted several Private first Class grunts to Balboa Naval Hospital under arms to get their VD shots I was going to write "our 4 kids" and decided to instead go with 2 boys and 2 girls.....My Bad

blue109 Posted March 26, 2019 Author Report Posted March 26, 2019 My daughter is having issues with the toilet situation so i think I just need to build/buy a nice little camp shitter and we will be ok.
