Magwa Posted September 18, 2020 Author Report Posted September 18, 2020 Been busy as hell all safe here Have not seen the sun since Labor day.... last 5 days visibility has been maybe a 1/4 mile all fires near me are contained and mopping up but the place is a tinder box.' This spring was wet, cool and all the weeds, grass, etc. grew like they were on miracle grow then summer came dried everything up and now we have 3 ft high gasoline just waiting for a spark we need rain the whole west coast.... be safe and if you have crap growing near your home cut it down clear a good area around your home and out buildings, most folks that got burned out had less than 5 min to evacuate it moves that fast you can not outrun it but you can be smarter.. be safe hang in there .

I hope it stays wet. When I was working on the Montana ranch we had a storm and lightning strike that burned about an acre but the rain knocked it out... till the next day about noon while we were trying to hit the hot spots it reignited and burned 2000 acres in about 8 hours. We got some forest service help with copters and planes to finally get it under control. Edited September 19, 2020 by Radioactive

Sharpshooter Posted September 20, 2020 Report Posted September 20, 2020 Working the line is tough when you're on the ground with the fire. Best wishes and nimble feet.
