The rarely used "Shower Beer"

So I went stumbling through the door of my local.......................

STOP.........BELAY THAT! Wrong intro. That's for other stories.

So it's back to being hot as balls here in the DC region. Since many of you know just how much of an abrasive a$$hole that I am (don't everybody jump in and argue that point at once now), I'll explain how even I, really, can actually be a nice guy sometimes. So I have a neighbor to one side of me, she's an elderly widow (probably early 80's) that I've been mowing her lawn for her since her husband passed a couple years ago. I have another neighbor across the street. He's a 95 year old Korean War Vet. I've been mowing his lawn also for the past couple years ever since he asked me to help once. They've both offered to pay me at times, which I've declined every time. The elderly lady is on a fixed income probably, and the guy across the street.......well I'd feel like a dick if I took money from a Korean War Vet.

Back on topic. I was out of town last week for a couple days doing some work in Florida, so I didn't get a chance to mow the lawn. So I finished work a little early today and decided to go out and hit all 3 lawns. So I ran the mower around all 3 of them (push mower mind you), then decided to attack them with the weed-whacker. Finishing up with breaking out the blower and taking care of the clean up. Once again, it's HOT AS BALLS again here in the DC area, so I looked like I was hit with a 5 gallon bucket of water. I FUKIN HATE summer time. One of the reasons why I won't move to AZ Tom. Unless we find that elusive Skull Valley property we talked about once. 

3 hours after starting, I'm wore the fuk out at this point. So I get back inside and peel the sweat soaked clothes off of me and head for the shower. That's when I veer off course ever so slightly and hit the beer fridge before resuming course back towards the shower. Fire up the shower and hop in with beer in hand. It's a rare thing to pull out the elusive shower beer. After all, that's what the extra high shelf on the shower caddy's must have been designed for right?

SO, my question to the jury is:

Shower Beer! Anybody else ever do that? Yes? No? Is it a bad thing? Do I have a problem?

Asking for a friend.  I'll hang up and listen.

I can't remember having a shower beer.  In your situation, I would have finished one and had another waiting for me when I was clean.  Mind you, I'm not dismissing your shower beer idea.  I've just never thought of it. 🍺

I once visited DC end of July, beging of August.It's not so much the heat I had issue with but the humidity... how does one feel drier in the shower as opposed to stepping out of the shower?

Regular, on the weekends/activities that warrant it.

Had to trim my bigass palmtree last weekend, here in PHX.  At this time, that's an act that needs to needs to be done, starting about 6am.  You fuk around and think you'll tackle a job like that, starting at 9am - it's already 100* at 9am...

People here take that shiit seriously, and you suffer, get up on the weekend, fire through it - or hire a "yard'crew" to do it for you.  That's the Messicans.

You get up, put in WORK, early in the morning, sweat, suffer, let that palm tree cut your ass up...   and now it's 9am...  You've already won a full days worth of work for what you've accomplished.  More than any other mere mortal could accomplish in a full day, in a temperate climate...  

Time to get cleaned up.  It's 9am, I'm bleeding from chopping palm fronds, I'm already tired from fighting this monster tree, and I'm already done for the day.  I just put in more weekend-work fighting that fuqr than most middle-americans can even imagine...  It's 9am, my work for the day is done -on MY weekend - and I'm gonna go get cleaned up - and have a shower beer.  

I got your back, brother.  Feel that pain.  I think others need to work harder, if they don't understand the concept.

Brother, for YEARS in the dunes, I was MGD.  The only dude here that knows that fact is @DNP...   He's the only one here that's known me that long, going back to 2004.  He will testify for me.  I rolled it for years.

So, you're saying that @Rsquared showed up and depleted the local supply of MGD and you had to switch brands.

That’s the prefect situation for a shower beer and usually about the only time I have. 14 hour day of getting your dick kicked in, no time to relax but a beer is 100% needed so take one or two to the shower it’s all about efficiency. I got one of those corner showers with the shelf’s in the corner so the beer goes in the top shelf

Ps it’s Oct 3 and was pushing 90° today. Hot ass Indian summer here in Wisco

Since you haven't been there in 2 years, the local brewery may have had enough time to catch up so he could switch back to MGD if he wants.
