planeflyer21 Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 I hope this idea spreads far and wide!http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,404721,00.htmlJon
Guill732 Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 Saw this last night and was very proud someone finally set the right solution in place to prevent further tragedies! I hope this spreads to other districts quickly. this and drills with local police are the only real way to prevent such shootings.
Madhouse Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 The Texas superintendent linked gun-free zones with the uprising of school shootings in recent years.Duh.
392heminut Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 Article states that info was not released on how many of the staff will be armed. This is as it should be! That is nobody's business but Administration, especially the news media! Just the fact that there may be armed personnel at a school will be a deterrent and will have a big effect on any choices one of these sick assholes makes. <thumbsup>
unforgiven Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 Hope other states will wake up and adopt same guidelines.Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. <thumbsup>
shepp Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Hope other states will wake up and adopt same guidelines.Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. <thumbsup>Sounds like Oklahomans jumping aboard too
George Martin Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 This is going to get worse way before it getts better. It's a shame the feds ignore the simple fix, arm people at schools and tell everyone!Cheers,George
flatwins Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 Sounds like Oklahomans jumping aboard tooProud Okie, checking in.
seasprite Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Saw on the news some law makers are wanting MO to do the same <thumbsup>
unforgiven Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Then they show some dumbass from Chicago that said it's "not necssary".
seasprite Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Then they show some dumbass from Chicago that said it's "not necssary".They want to be the model for the rest of the country because their murder rate is so low.
98Z5V Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 I think this will spread. It might take years, but it will spread, as people in this country wake up. It'll probably become policy in alot of states, nationwide. I see the states of NJ, CT, MA, NY, and CA never adopting this policy, though. Some part of AZ will be next.
edgecrusher Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Never say never, the principle at my daughters school, which is catholic, is a former marine. I thanked her the other day for her service and for a note she sent home about having the local pd look into upgrades in security, they have a buzz in system with cameras, better than nothing, and she said she was willing to do what ever was necessary to keep the kids safe and winked at my Glock hat.

We'll be doing an inservice training for all the staff after Christmas break.Jon
SPBCTS Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Districts that do this may find themselves becoming "magnet" schools of another kind...the kind where parents are wise enough to know that law enforcement can't be everywhere at once.And...that self control is necessary for gun control to work.
MaDuce Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Sounds like people are finally getting fed up with all the nonsense.
planeflyer21 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Report Posted December 20, 2012 AZ is already on a Charter system. You may send your kid to any school, public or charter.Lots of parents keep their kids in the public but go to a school FAR away from where they live. The charters have to meet test requirements but have much more leeway on what they may teach. We're at a charter.Jon
Model1911 Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Hats off to the folks in Texas... It appears that in the media and the hangers-ons in congress, is akin to a herd that has been spooked; its unfortunate that these congressional clowns are only interested in siding with what ever will get them the most votes and the most press...
unforgiven Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Indiana said it's legal and ok with them if teachers are armed.
