Big bore

You could do a .45 ACP rifle build... Then have the barrel re-chambered to fire .460 Rowland!

You could still plink with 45 ACP, and then hunt with the .460! Plus they use the same G3 magazines! <thumbsup>

It's no where near as big as the 458, but it's still a big bore and a lot cheaper to shoot... My buddy had a 458, and he said it was abut $3 a round... When he could find it. The .458 Socom, the .450 Bush and the .50 Beo.... I have no idea where to find these anymore, aside from reloading.

^^^  If you're looking for something like that, you need to get ahold of Marty at Teppo Jutsu.  I don't know if he's still making them, but he did.  Also, send a PM to member "bigbore" and see if he'll get into this thread - he has several.

Hypothetical Question for fun & opinions :threadjack:

That 1200lb/10' tall Grizz pops out of the bush at 40yrds.He's pissed and can cover that distance in 2.9 seconds! Will you (a)trust a big bore AR not to ftf/fte? (b)Would you grab your 308AR with 20+ rounds of 168gr (2500ft.lbs @100yards) © Grab your 5.56 AR w/30+ rounds of 75gr (1200 ft.lbs @ 100) (d) 300 acc blkout w/125gr.(1100 lbs@100 yrds.? <munch> <munch>

If that giant 1,200lb sumbitch is that stealthy, that I didn't know he was 40 yards away, then I'm probably takin' a HUGE ass-whoopin'...  <thumbsup>

A couple of archers were hunting near Yellowstone, bugling for elk.  One heard a stick crunch behind him and turned around to see the bear they'd called in and mauled them both.

Animals take stealth to a whole different level.

I'd go with the .450 Bushmaster, 9-shots over 2,700ft.lbs.

If I was in bear country.

A 7" AR pistol, in 300Blk, could be designed light enough to pack. A .500 S&W would be less cumbersome in a proper holster. Even the Freedom Arms .45-70 would be easier to carry.

If you think a bear has snuck up on you, be observant to details. If this stealthy bear has a grey spot on the back of its head you're safe. It's just 98Z5V maintaining his honed skill set. The fact that you were ever made aware of his presence shows he wasn't there to get you. He'll likely finish out his naked nature run after drinking the beer in your cooler. A small price to pay after a brush with death.

(e) poop my pants , then unload 16 200gr Hornaday XTP at 1200fps with my 10mm Witness. After that I would go to the bathroom and take a shower to get the crap off of my ass.

I get scared by stuffed Kodiak bears hiding in closets !

Well....I would hope to have my 12" AR-10 with me if this happened. That way I could unload up to all 20 rounds at that big ol bastard.........while running in the opposite direction screaming like a teenage girl.....of course.  <lmao>
