  1. Welcome from Texas. I would start a separate thread for your build to ask for and get specific answers. A list of parts used is a great way to start.
  2. I have seen your videos in this series. I like the fact that you use your real experience to determine what is needed. I don't want someone who watched Rambo when he was a kid saying what is or isn't necessary in these situations.
  3. No need for a season on vermin.
  4. I'm not sure about Mr. Hunt but this same story was attributed to Jerry Jones, by our governor no less, but looks like it was false.
  5. Welcome from Texas.
  6. Good news!
  7. That looks exactly like what I want. Thanks! Now I just have to add some ammo to see if I can get free shipping.
  8. I saw those when I looked at Brownells. I was looking to avoid having more milspec trigger parts laying around. I have one milspec trigger in an AR and it will soon be replaced with a Larue. I've heard how a spare roll pin can lead you to building another gun.
  9. My wife got stomach virus over the weekend so I didn't get to do as much as I hoped. I did get the lower put together with the heavy spring on the Larue trigger. The bolt catch spring went somewhere when I was trying to put it in and had to go to gun show on Sunday to get a replacement. Any place to get a supply of replacement pins and springs (preferably without trigger parts)? I glanced at Midway and Brownells but didn't find what I had envisioned. I have seen what I think I want at other gun shows and may go there in the next week or two.
  10. Glad you made it through unscathed.
  11. Welcome to the forum from Texas. One suggestion is a Larue trigger. Regular price is $125, but they go on sale for $99 around some holidays.
  12. Welcome from Texas.
  13. 4 D&H 7.62X39 mags that are due on Saturday.
  14. Nice looking rifle! Hope it shoots as well as it looks.
  15. But, first things first, I'll try to start on this tonight. It may be the weekend before I can devote much time to it though.
  16. I've just noticed that Moriarti sells the AR50 upper as well. That is one that is on my list of just-because-I-can guns to build. I just don't have anywhere to shoot it to it's potential.
  17. Those damn Texans started fixing things and taking care of each other instead of waiting for the government. Don't they know there are bribes that need to be paid off?
  18. The hard part will relief bills like these is that you get "relief" for the spotted owl habitat in Oregon and the dung beetle study needs funding, etc... Those are made up but you get the point. A lot of the relief money goes to someone's pet project nowhere close to where the need is. But yes, money and manpower is needed to get things back close to normal.
  19. Ive got the lower and it comes with the BCG. I've got a few mags coming and I've got about 1000 rounds of crap ammo for my SKS. The only thing I have left is the optic. I think I'll end up with a Primary Arms 3X scope for it before it's all over.
  20. I got my delivery of the build kit for my 7.62X39 AR. Everything was well packaged in a USPS priority mail box. This is what came in the box. I will put a Larue trigger in it and probably an SLR synergy brake that I have as well. I am new to this type of build, so I am open to discussing alternatives. I put this thread in this forum to highlight our site sponsor, @MoriartiArmaments. They were great to deal with and communication was prompt and personal when I had questions. Packaging and shipping were without a problem. I encourage anyone to buy from them if they find a deal on something they "can't live without." I will post updates as I go through the build and figure out that I don't know as much as I hoped.
  21. Welcome from Texas.
  22. Hamburgers and hot dogs cooked over mesquite wood with very light seasoning.
  23. I'm sitting in the shade, about to cook hamburgers and going to shoot a little afterwards. Life is good.
  24. I've had several patients say the same thing after years of riding. With young people more interested in their phone than driving, they decided it wasn't worth it anymore.
