  11. Damn that looks like a blast. My work just doesn't allow for much spur of the moment road trips.
  12. Welcome from Texas.
  13. Back in the 80's, my brother worked in construction in DFW area. He told me about a coworker at his job-site who pointed a pipe at the presidential motorcade as it was passing on the freeway several stories below. He got visited by the secret service or police. I don't remember if anything happened other than talking to him.
  14. I thought you were dead.
  15. Welcome from Texas. There is lots of useful information on this site. There is also many experienced people who have likely done or experienced what you may be doing. They don't mind helping you to spend your money so you get the best weapon you can mortgage your house to buy.
  16. Good to hear that your mom is doing better. I will preface this by saying that I am not a cardiologist (and didn't sleep in a Holiday Inn Express). From what you say, it sounds like she may have congestive heart failure and/or pulmonary edema. Most of the time these can be treated with medicine with an occasional need for surgery if there is a leaky heart valve. I have a talent for taking "doctor speak" and translating it into English. I may have to study up on the condition first, but I can usually make it make sense.
  17. Who said that the health care in Canada was not up to par??? A Muslim immigrant in Toronto goes to the doctor and says "I feel terrible." The doctor examines him and then says: "You need to pee and put your bowel movements in a bucket for a week, then throw in a dead fish and some rotten cabbage. Put a towel over your head and inhale the vapors for three days." The Muslim does this and goes back to the doctor 3 days later and says, "I feel wonderful! what was wrong with me?" The doctor replied, "You were homesick."
  18. There are no specific details of the attack, but presumably being armed didn't help this veteran that worked at a this store. I grew up in Fort Worth and have bought from this store in the past. I hope they find the "person of interest" and figure out who did this. http://www.myfoxdfw.com/story/27629249/police-seek-person-of-interest-in-gun-store-murder It goes to show that you have to be on guard at all times, even in what you would think would be a safe work environment.
  19. A group of softball players, all in their 40's, discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that they would meet at Hooters because the waitresses were young, good looking, had big breasts and wore short-shorts. Ten years later, at age 50, the softball buddies once again discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that they would meet at Hooters because the food and service was good, they had many televisions to watch the games on, and the beer selection was excellent. Ten years later, at age 60, the team again discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that they would meet at Hooters because there was plenty of parking, they could dine in peace, and it was good value for the money. Ten years later, at age 70, they discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that they would meet at Hooters because the restaurant was wheelchair accessible and had a toilet for the disabled. Ten years later, at age 80, the friends discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that they would meet at Hooters because they had never been there before.
