Not my last stop, but the one prior was pretty interesting. I was headed to pick my wife up at the college after a class. Like 9:15pm. I rolled a stop, or Cali stopped anyways. Guy lit me up and I pulled over. Turned off the car, rolled all the windows down, took the keys out and put em on the dash and kept both my hands high on the steering wheel in plain view....guy gets on the horn and tells me to turn the car off and put it in park. I give a wave out the window and put my hand back on the wheel. Again, and this time a little more forceful he tells me to turn the car off and put it in park. Again I waive...it's off I yell. Now he's pissed and screaming on the loud speaker. Same story...but now I'm freaked out trying to figure out what the hell is going on. I feel like the guy from the "where's the little girl" skit. I'm panicked ...like super troopers "he can't pull over any further"...I can't turn it off or put it more in park than it already is, but for some reason I'm about to get shot.
He finally exits and approaches unbuckled and hand on the gun. I told him the vehicle has been off and in park since I pulled over and the keys haven't even been on the ignition after I hand him the demanded license, reg and insurance.
"I'm not stupid, your reverse lights have been staring me in the face since we stopped." He barks
Boy...I wanted to start off with " apparently you are stupid then..." But my already scared shitless side said that would be a bad idea. I waited for him to finish everything and when he was done I politely broke it to him that he should be cautious and remain in his car for safety, but to be more patient with the GM vehicles he stops in the future. Our Yukon turns all the outside lights on( including the reverse lights) as exit lamps when you put it in park and turn it off. They stay on for like 60 seconds on ours.
