  1. I agree , the Magpui's with the friction lock have very little movement . Now a fixed stock , I would go with the Magpul MOE , before I would get another A1/A2 , I like the one I put on my 18" 308AR.
  2. If the Safety is interfering withTrigger travel , it can cause other issues , holding the trigger down & not being able to cycle the BCG , sounds like it could be a separate issue , but maybe not . When you are cycling the BCG to the rear with the Trigger held down , the BC is pushing down on the Hammer & the Disconnector spring is also being compressed , because the disconnector Sear is being cam'ed or pivoted for it to catch on the Hammer"s safety disconnect Sear . You might be feeling the extra spring pressure . If that is what you are describing .
  3. If I was still a Class three dealer & this passed ,its would be a hard thing to see all my inventory lose 90% of its value overnight , just saying . Not that I or they would be against the abolishment of the unconstitutional GCA of 1986 , but as a dealer & being there are so few class III any more , I would see it as a very good business opportunity . I won't hold my breath waiting for this being over turned . Not with this administration & its Commie attitude .
  4. Tape ?
  5. If you are talking about the Barrel Nut , yes 30-60ft.lb.s , may not take that much to align the the Barrel Nut for the Gas tube . between 30-60 ft.lb. should get it lined up . I Torque to 30 ft.lbs. then tighten up Barrel Nut to the next slot for the Gas Tube , for proper alignment . I have my instructions for my 308 SS-series if front of me .
  6. I like the Lancers more then Pmags , hard thing to say , but they work flawlessly in my CMMG Lower , where the first Generation 308 Pmags , will not . The Gen. III Pmags do seem to work in the CMMG , but I have done limited testing with them so far , I seem to just grab the Lancer's for the CMMG . I have no problems with BCG locking back on last round with the L7's I liked the L 7's so much I bought a bunch of their AR 15 Mags & like them also .
  7. I use small bubble levels also .
  8. I'm with them , have to check the Buffing system before I would ream out the Gas Port in the Barrel . There has been a lot on the Areo Buffer system & most do as said above & changed out to a Armalite 308 Spring & Buffer. Its not just the Receiver Extension , I think they made their Receivers to different spec's or they had an issue with some sets.Hard to tell . I have the measurements of a DPMS 308 Springs , it may help you identify what you have . Are there any Marks on the Threaded portion inside the Lower receiver , from the BCG touching or hitting it ?
  9. M14's & M1 Garands had a small problem with bending the operating rod with high pressure of the 308 /7.62x51 or in the M1 's case 30'06 , they produced special ammo for them , loaded lighter , if my memory is correct. You can have at it with any 308AR , no piston connected to the charging handle , so to speak.
  10. Fulton Armory , Criterion barrels & Maybe even the ones straight from Criterion , also have Hybrid Chambers or sorts . I'm not sure if anyone will tell you what they are cut or reamed at , but they are labeled 7.62x51, but advertised as they will shoot both types ammo .
  11. Is the Gas tube too short , does it sit in the Upper Receiver , like the one below ? I generally try to keep excess Lubricants of of the Chamber. Some new builds need to be run wet for a break in period . Damn your a faster typist then me , 392heminut?
  12. Sure are a lot of dead people shot with a 7.62x39 out there to prove it does the job . I remember when the Evil Black Rifle first came out & what some on the wrong end of them said about it .
  13. Need to send him a Christmas thank you card , honesty is alive !
  14. Glad to hear your feeling better , take your time & heal up properly .
  15. Mine work fine , I will not install another std one , they will all get one of these.
  16. Bolts don't come loose when Torqued down on a Engine , so if properly Torqued ,as said , the nut will stay where its set . I've never had one come loose , but have found a factory rifle with it loose from the factory.
  17. Merry Christmas to all .
  18. That will not help your Trigger reset problem .??
  19. He will have to purchase the rest of the components to use that Barrel. Unless he already has a DPMS 308 AR.?
  20. Nice ! Any Chrono numbers ?
  21. I have said , its the fastest trigger I have ever used , but of course I have not shot all that are available, but of all the triggers I have used in an AR , these have a very fast reset . They seem to settle out after the round count goes up . I have several installed . There are reviews in the Mech Armor section , I think , on this trigger .
  22. If the shooter says so . Its hard to tell sometimes if your not there . Cardboard sometimes distorts impact holes . I know the Criterion 20" barrel is capable of doing in . I do it quite often with my 20" HB. I have also been testing 155's from three different Criterion Barrel lengths . I'm using Nosler 155Match & Hornady 155 gr. A max. & the Hornady's are impressive so far. I'm using Ramshot ,Tac. It will be interesting how your ES changes ,I think you know , up or down in Velocity can change a lot . try a different Primer , if the charge weight doesn't provide the desired results .
  23. Thats what I use for my Annealing , to show temp, but I paint it at the shoulder & use 650 degree Tempalaq . I do like that automated set up .
