I have no problem with a two stage , I'm actually a convert , I was single stage all the way until I hung around you guys here, but find the MechArmor a faster trigger & if its for Hogs , sometimes speed is a good thing , I can see the 338 Fed as a one shot stopper , but with hogs , you never know , even the small ones sometimes , but then again , you can take some distance shots also . Hard choice . I had to look up that MOE SL stock , nice stock . <thumbsup> You know , I hear all you guys wanting short bbl's with pined muzzle devices & I always think about what I find when I remove & clean under them & I just can't bring myself to have something that can build up so much crap under it & have it non-removable or hard to remove . For just two inches <laughs>

Check out the Dwilson BCG , I believe its a much better product .There is a couple of threads on his Components in the 308 Parts section . http://www.dwilsonmfg.com/store/p18/AR10_Bolt_carrier_Group.html -
Well ,the crooks didn't know about this type of concealment until now <lmao> I wouldn't want to dick around with those magnets when I'm in the thick of it . Nothing beats a goos safe !

You had to ask ? <dontknow> <thumbsup>

I'll bet that was a beast on that course , its all in fun & practice , doesn't matter what rifle you use . A lighter one would be a little faster to run , as you said . Nice.

I don't think the OP even posted a photo , it was Washguy, that posted a Barrel & bolt , with the wrong finish <laughs> as 98 pointed out . <thumbsup>

X-Caliber Barrel & MFG, Anyone know about these?

Photo's can wait till you get it back , no problem . <thumbsup> Thanks -
Hope you insurance paid for it all , sucks . My F150 is a little older & they don't think want my steel wheels. I have a Security Camera pointing at my drive way & my dogs will go nuts if someone farts out side . Trust me its gets a little old , but they are good at it & I check every time they sound off .

Extractor , Must be a bad one or a very heavy spring . Sure it wasn't the Ejector you removed ? Just curious , I've never had an Extractor cause a Head Spacing problem , ya never know <dontknow>

Any photo's of the Barrel ? -
My Bolt came a day early , nicely made & finish is flawless , Nitrated . I did notice a difference in the Extractor , compared to my DPMS test Bolt , not sure if it makes a difference with function , but will find out Friday at the range . I also took some measurements of the Bolt Locking Lugs & other measurements & those too may make no difference . This DPMS Bolt has had Hundreds of rounds fired with it . I don't keep track of round count any more , but I will start with this Bolt & Criterion Nitrated Barrel . Length of complete Bolt ( with in +/- measuring ) DWilson - 2.930" DPMS - 2.9285" Locking Lug length ( Bolt face to back of Lug ) DWilson - 0.316" DPMS - 0.318" Width of Locking Lug DWilson - 0.167" DPMS - 0.160" Depth or height of Locking Lug (from Bolt dia. to top of Lug ) DWilson - 0.123" DPMS - 0.1175" Not sure if these measurements mean a damn thing , because the DPMS is well used , they could have been much closer when it was new . I can say the DWilson Bolt was a nice Head Space fit & the Older DPMS is a easy fit , but you would expect that from a well used & broken in Bolt . Part of the tightness is the Gas ring fit , it was much tighter then the DPMS , but here again , well used Bolt so the comparison is mote . I can't wait to play with this new build , with its Nitrated Barrel & Bolt . This sure makes removing & installing Ejectors , a breeze !

A P-300BLK also , I've been looking at . <thumbsup>

My Nitrated Bolt will be here Thursday , only thing keeping me from test firing my newest build . I have my test bolt (old DPMS ) in it for function testing & it head spaced OK , but I wanted a new one to break the Nitrated Criterion Barrel in & also testing the two Nitrated components together <thumbsup> On all three Bolts I have, the Extractor springs are nested springs . Two DPMS & one Shadow OPS , I think its a better idea than a rubber nipple or O-ring . <thumbsup>

Does seem like they have no respect for the Hardware & I agree , that pile will get gone over by the PD & they will probably shoot the ammo . Don't say it doesn't happen Rob ! <laughs>

Single stage would be my first choice to recommend , but you have loaded with a Progressive press before , so you have experience in reloading . Go with a Progressive , I prefer the Dillon 550B , only because its not auto indexing & that makes adj. much easier , but nothing wrong with a progressive auto indexing press ether . I remove any auto primer feed on all my presses , because I hand prime everything. In the photo below I have about four different Calibers being loaded ,not to mention playing with 308AR's <thumbsup> My Dillon 550B can be set up to load every thing but 9mm & 380 , witch I do on the very very old Lee 1000. Single stage I use for target or hunting loads because I load them one at a time through the whole loading process or primer pocket swaging or collet bullet pulling , just the way I do it , I have 100% control over what goes on & can inspect every one through each stage of reloading , not to mention using a digital scale to hand weight each round .

So , he was a firearms collector & needed ammo , I don't see anything strange except he was a little brain dead at the end . I really don't see a story here . The stashed cars & trucks , maybe he didn't have room for them at his house or couldn't keep them there because of the stupid HOA . And lastly ,doesn't everyone want a car that they can use as a Submarine ? <dontknow>

I would think the coating company & or the Bolt /BCG manufacturers, will probably have their own spec's & they all may or may not be different . Some one here that does it may have to speak up . Some treatment coating companies may put it on thicker then others, there may be even different types or just a sloppy job . I really don't know , but I will stay away from Bolts that are NIB coated from now on . The one I have from the now defunct company Shadow OPs, was a tight fit at first Head spacing & I want to get a higher round count to check it again , to determan if it changed , if at all . It functions fine , but it was tight when Head spaced new . We have seen tight or fail to fit with a "GO " gage here before & as has showed up , real tight to lock & unlock into battery .

This is the Bag & comes unfilled , I set the rear bag for sight/scope eye alignment & adj. the front adjuster to get on the spot on the target aiming point . Sometimes I will adj. the rear bag because of recoil & i usually have my hand on it anyway , so its a quick adjustment , if needed . http://www.natchezss.com/protektor-model-custom-rabbit-ear-rear-bag.html

Ya, but will you <laughs> I know if it was me , I would have to , I'm too curious , its a fault in my character <dontknow> Just make sure you have plenty of quarters around <thumbsup>
-
These are what I use .The From is a Caldwel & its adj. I forget the name of the rear bag , was not cheap , made of leather & filled with sand . I move it for bet level & adj. the front , to zero on target point .

My Bolt shipped today . <thumbsup> I want to order one of his Master repair parts kits next .

Yes, I remember the trouble you had with yours & there were others , if I remember correctly . Thing is , he changed it & unless you reinstall it after its working with the Armalite set up , you will not know if it would have worked or not . Once the rifle is up & running , no reason to change it out or a reluctance to change something thats working & I don't blame anyone for that , thats for sure <thumbsup> I think some NIB coated Components have quality control issues & some don't . Its probably why some are tighter than others , it doesn't take much , its a precise fit for Head spacing & not much wiggle room. Wilson Bolts & BCG's can be had in Nitrated Finnish or treatment if you will , I just ordered a Nitrated Bolt from him . To my knowledge the Nitrating process doesn't add anything to the surface of the Component . 98 should have his from Wilson shortly , but not sure which finish he ordered. You can still get Phosphate Bolts made by DPMS .

The MechArmor Modular FCG uses std Trigger / Hammer pins ( You supply ) & has set screws to lock the Pins in place , at least my two do , unless mine were missing something. <dontknow>
