  1. I think this is a joke ? For all you Golfer's. <laughs>
  2. Just make sure they fit in the mag ., you can get various slight imperfections at the bullets nose & could cause problems feeding from the mag. , but you knew that .
  3. More importantly , HER gun . <laughs>
  4. <lmao> At least he turned his head at the last moment .
  5. I like the sentence that the guy who shot himself said " Then my Training took over " , I know what he meant , but I can't help thinking , it should have took over as soon as he loaded his firearm. Good he made a Video of this incident , got to hand it to him . Couple years ago a range member ( former Marine ) was practicing something , what we may never know , but discharged his Pistol putting it back into a shoulder holster & sadly he was deceased before other members showed up to shoot & found him . The media was all set to go into Frenzy mode until they found out he has had experience with firearms & they shut up .
  6. Maybe a drivers license was a poor example , but it should have given an idea of what you need in every day life to show your capabilities . Why shouldn't we expect any less for carrying a firearm ,be it concealed or open , long gun or handgun. It is more responsibility to carrie a firearm & you should show that your not going to open up in traffic because you don't like the way some one drives. Has nothing to do with infringing , its all about sensibility , what makes sense to be able to carrie a dangerous weapon & keeping it out of the hands of idiots . Lets face it , the Politicians have never made a firearms law thats meant to keep them out of a criminals hands , its all about the law abiding citizens to jump through hoops to have one . If anyone is going to jump on the " shall not be infringed " part of it , why can't we have RPGs', 155 howitzers , you can own one if your a Gasillionair , but normal every day people like us can't , now that is infringing . Why not NFA weapons , 25 K & up for a transferable M16, but if you have the money you can buy one , so they say its not infringing , because even though they stopped making them for individual transfer in 1986 . It boosted the price over night , I was there & a class three dealer then.Put me & so many others, right out of business , just what they wanted to happen. So just asking for some one to pass some kind of proficiency testing , should not be a big deal to carry a firearm . If anything it may stifle some of those out to really infringe on your second amendment rights.
  7. The manufacture of transferable NFA weapons ( to individuals ) stopped in May of 1986. Manufacture is for dealer sample or LE Dept. use only . That is unless you use a pre may of 1986 registered NFA receiver/frame .
  8. Casting 45 cal. bullets ( last night ),200gr. SWC ( Lyman mold ) & 228gr. RN (Lee mold ) & today I started sizing them.
  9. What's good about having the availability of HS gages is , you can do routine checks of HS at regular intervals as the round count goes up . For safety's sake . My 16" Fulton Armor barrel with rifle length gas system works fine with any ammo .
  10. I agree , but I think most here are above avg. in weapons handling, & I believe can be trusted to do so ,but if you get one bonehead like the guy above , firing a Black rifle in the air , for what , road rage ( grow a set ), it screws us all . I agree , but as said above , with the Media mostly owned & run with the opposition , it only takes one incident ( as in Sandy hook ) they will be on it like the stink on $hit. Maybe there should be levels of competency to be able to carrie what you want . I know the a$$holes we have for politicians , in most cases , wouldn't make it a hoop jumping contest , but maybe we would weed some of the Boneheads out of it . You have competency testing in every day life , for work or driver license types , why not firearm carrie .I don't really think thats too much to ask of society in general . Its not depriving you of the right & with proper training , most would over come any deficiencies.
  11. Congratulations & you believe the 30 days , right ? <thumbsup>
  12. Have you put your slings for sale in the for sale section ? How do we get one ? I like the Para cord look . A two point . You can PM me .
  13. You can buy all separately & buy a set of Head Space Gages & check the Head space when barrel Is on the upper & you have the BCG all together or take it to a GunSmith for Head spacing .
  14. Good job <thumbsup> .Now we need target & rifle photo's or it didn't happen.
  15. I would say also , it seems like you have more than one issue to be cleared up , focus on one at a time ,although its posable they could all be related. . You should not have any problems striping a fresh round from the mag. if all is proper with components , could be binding some where along the line . Your hammer could be slowing the BCG down , what could happen with the hammer is , it comes in contact with the Disconnect & the BCG instead of just the spring pressure to overcome , its binding between the hammer & disconnect ,enough to slow the action down enough to cause malfunctions. That is one direction you can go , just anther thing to think about . There will be a mark on top of the disconnect . If the FTF is with all different manufactured Magazines , its more than likely its not the Magazines. How tight is you magazine catch ? Do your mags drop free when released ? No reloads fired , OK , what was the purpose of the Mocked up Game kings , did they feed & chamber properly ?
  16. If you want info on Small base dies , see the reloading section , but I use them still & Full length also . I have a thread in the reloading section on them . You could also have issues with your reloads, you say the BCG is difficult to pull back with a live round in the chamber , that could be a sized case problem , not sized properly or trimmed , they can get a little sticky with tight chambers. You also said you have a 308 carbine spring & buffer , could you measure the spring & buffer & also weigh the buffer & we like photo's here.
  17. Ya , right ! <laughs>
  18. Photo's , or it didn't happen . <thumbsup>
  19. The marks on the bullets are probably locking lug marks from the barrel extension . Was the barrel /bolt head spaced ? Did you do the drill , one round fired to see if the BCG is held back with empty mag. ? Since the fresh round is almost going into battery , could be a head spacing issue, burr on locking lugs , chamber issue ( its a DPMS factory upper ) , like Robocop said , clean the crap out of the chamber & barrel extension area. Do not be afraid to oil the crap out of her , run her wet , keep lubricant out of the chamber. Those snap caps are not to spec's , so don't expect them to act like a loaded round . The feeding problem may be that she is just tight & needs some break in time & lubricants. Now one other thing , are you sure the lower was machined to spec's , & I mean sure ?
  20. Good job . Glad you got it all together . Those port covers with the sayings are kinda cool , the BRO upper I am going to order( I have a BRO lower ) , has "LET IT RAIN " on it , but of course that has to do with the manufacturer , Black Rain Ordinance . Solid brass might be on the heavy side for a port cover , but a plated one would not add much to one . That would have that special look .
  21. This surprises you <laughs>
  22. When hunting , I use any kind of rest I can find , even if I have to move to get to one , especially with my handguns. Some times you don't have time to sling up or grab a rest , but if hunting , you should do every thing you can to get a good clean shot . Now a target match , like Three gun type , this may be the way to go. The Shooting stance , well ,if you use any of the older full auto 308's ( FN's , M 14"s , HK's ) that stance is mandatory for controllability & yes , you can control them with experience , contrary to some published data. Good video.
