  1. Cleaned , FL sized , LC 308 brass for 175 gr. loadings . If weather holds, will be taking 16" & 20 " to 200 yd. comparison this coming weekend .
  2. All this coverage of the missing flight , it does take way from the O'butthead care, IRS , Fast & Furious etc. . There's also another thing we may want to think about , if you wanted all the surveillance to look some where else , so you can do something you don't want anyone to notice or just lower that chance, dump or make them think a plane crashed in the most remote area on the planet & they will task most of the spy satellites to the area . This Patient thing is interesting , for sure , makes one think about what is really going on . Just like look at all the people that have died around the Commie Clintons. Ah, conspiracy theories , what would we do with out them . <thumbsup>
  3. Its amazing how these rifles can be converted one way or the other. Probably why they are so popular .
  4. Did you try another brand of ammo ?
  5. They reconfigured the lug there , kinda reminds me of that new bolt that just came on the market for the AR 15 . Probably left some thing there for added strength & alignment of the extractor with the barrel extension. Interesting .
  6. Wow !
  7. All I got to say is , WTF ?
  8. Shouldn't be any reason a piston system would not work , if , its set up properly . Gas port size on barrel ,Buffer /spring combo , may want to use a AR15 BCG & not an enhanced AR 15 or M16. May need an adj. gas system , you can tweak to get the system to function properly.
  9. I'm in the north Florida area also , welcome to the Forum.
  10. Happy to see your running correctly. Can you take a photo of the out side view of the extractor , no need to remove it from the bolt , maybe with the original extractor next to it for comparison . It looks like the reduced or changed the locking lug on the outside face of the extractor. Thanks.
  11. Nice build . I agree with Robo., Get a nice brake on that light weight 16" bbl. , will help with rapid follow up shots if needed. Most good red dot ( or red/green ) sights will do work quickly to & depending on your skill level, over 100 yard shots.
  12. That's some interesting stuff there . "The Killing of America " video , is one I don't remember , but I was over sea's at that time . The IRA photo's were interesting.
  13. The 7.62x51 & 308 loaded cartridge dimensions are all the same , the 7.62x51 chamber is, dimensionally , 0.013" longer & that is because they are for combat rifles which will see a possibility of not being able to cleaned like a safe Queen thats cleaned after every range session . There is ammo out there from foreign manufactures that may cause problems in commercial 308 chambers or there may be some ammo out there just made " bad " . For DPMS to say don't use Nato ammo in there chambered rifles , just like reloaded ammo , is for warranty concerns . DPMS makes a good rifle , but they do have more than there share of chamber problems with there 308's . Some documented here & other forums , so just blaming the ammo , may not always be the problem .
  14. I had to use loc-tite on my PRI brake , no crush washer or locking nut . I had them special make one the same dia. as my 20" HB & only needed a .002" shim ( I made )to index it correctly, you can hardly tell its not part of the barrel . It would loosen every range trip . I called them & they said use blue loc-tite on it , which I was going to do any way, but I had to ask what they used & its been on there for years with out loosening .
  15. Bad casting , probably with both Hammers.
  16. I don't understand the title of this post . How did he project to you he hated you or am I missing some thing ? To me he just didn't understand what you were trying to communicate to him. Title should read " Coffee hater ". I can tell you this , just about every one (that's not an LE ) gets freaked when they are noticed by an LE. I have a story about me a couple of years ago , I had just got over the state line in OHIO ( my home state ) on the way to hunt camp & had been driving for about 12 hr's , when I passed a OSHP & I saw hime pull out & since it was 0200 , & I was the only one on the road but him ,I knew I was going to get pulled over for some thing , that's a gimme, sure enough as soon as he was behind me long enough to check my plates , the lights came on & I pulled over . I have nothing to hide ,but still felt nervous , asked what was up & he said I had no license plate lights , I knew they worked before I left Florida , they must have both went out at the same time , I told him I had a CWP & that there were other firearms in the truck , so he put me in the back of the cruiser while he went through my truck ( He didn't find all the firearms I had in there) & no big deal , he ran what ser. # 's of the firearms he pulled out & of course , they were clean , but I still felt like some thing bad was going to come out of it . Could have been because I was overly tired or just the way LE is perceived by most , because I have talked to a lot of people since then & to the person , they are all freaked when pulled over or when an LE just asks them some thing .They watch TV & there are some things, when growing up with local PD's that don't help . I even talked to the officer & he said most feel apprehensive around LE . I even have a FOP emblem on my license plate for the range . Good guy though , let me go & said he liked my guns, especially the 870 with the Magpul stock set on it , they had just cmd out with them , I like to think ,its the first he had seen them . So all you LE out there , cut us some slack <laughs>
  17. The ACOG in ether case is going to add a chunk $$ & he plans on adding it to the 716 , so that to me would also bring the price of the 716 up a bunch, probably well above the MSRP of a 716, so to me just getting another upper & upgraded hand guard , would be a big price difference . I think he just wants a new SIG 716 , he's not kidding anyone . <thumbsup>
  18. Robo , you have no hands or there're invisible <lmao> I wear gloves hunting up north ,but my trigger hand is usually in my pocket with a hot hand & no glove.
  19. Interesting , but I almost fell asleep until they ran it over , it was interesting after that.
  20. That's MSRP , I haven't seen one for sale here , but I don't get out to all the fun shops around here & couldn't tell you what the sell on the open market. That price for a complete rifle ? I just looked at there web sight , AR-10 A4 CARBINE COMPLETE UPPER HALF, BLACK $786.00 E
  21. Do you have any other RCBS die sets that you could barrow one from ? ( 30'06,270 ect. ) I have one if you need it .
  22. PRI brake works great on my 20", I will have to take another photo of it, because it was lost on my hard drive on my other PC took a dump. Smith Enterprises on my 16" also works great.
  23. Me thinks they know more about this then they are telling . All the surveillance we have in that area or where they could fly to , to land that big sucka & no one has seen a thing ? I was told almost all cell phones shut down at a certain altitude , so if so , no one could use them , not to mention it wouldn't take long to get out of cell range in that area of the world .
  24. Since I moved to Florida , they said I was not just a Yankee , but a Damn Yankee because I stayed . I just told them I'm an American & the compass means nothing to me . <thumbsup>
