Well, if you have a Mil Dot scope or a scope with ranging dots, lines or circles , you can use them for adj. drop of different bullet weights . A Mil Dot scope with turrets for adj. you can dial any range with any bullet with the proper doping . You can zero it for the one you use most & have the settings ,written down or in your head for any thing else.

The way I read your post , it seemed you were getting 18-20" spread with different bullet weights ,meaning group wise . Of course you will get more drop with a subsonic loaded bullet in just about any weight . The lower velocity will make any of them drop compared to a supersonic velocity. Now if they are indeed getting large spreads , some thing is not right.

I got the Mag Tec mag , the Troy three pak is back ordered . The mag looks good with S/S follower & has a slight grittiness to it as it is slid down the inner mag. . Probably just feeling the rough finish on the inside of the mag., looks well made . Will do some photos & a range report when I get a chance this week . I was in my Fun store looking around & came across CMMG 308 mags, for DPMS/SR25 style rifles & never came across them before . Went to CMMG web sight & they are not on the sight . I did a search & came up with them all over the place & price range , damn another one I have to try. Ya know ,if my CMMG lower would just work with Pmags, I wouldn't be going through this .

Sent it back to them , I know my SSA trigger is beautiful. This is the first bad experience I have heard about there trigger system .

18-20" seems kinda odd ? I have used 150's,125's, 130's & 135's & don't get but an inch or two difference in zero , some of these bullets do group better , but we are talking MOA .

The only experience with gas plug cleaning that I have is with FN,M14 & M1 garrands & you need to scrape that crap off, not pretty but it works. Dull knife blade of proper strength ,even a small sharpened screw driver . Not sure what your POF plug looks like ,but I'll bet its not much different than the ones mentioned above.

Damn ,I feel so much better now . I kinda knew it was BS , but had to see what the troops had to say. As far as snopes goes , I don't put much stock in them at all .

308 semi auto fed rifles have enough power in the cartridge to blast through some of the problems you can get into with its little brother the 5.56. That being said , if you neglect any rifle ,its going to end up with malfunctions. It won't matter what type it is .

Interesting. Kinda pricey & adds pounds ,but stays cool & increases accuracy ,umm ? Adds life to the barrel ? The first video of them having a bbl. on a lathe is some what missleading . Another barrel heat sink , this is not all that new , but interesting for sure .

I got this emailed to me yesterday , I hope there is no truth to it & its a email scam . Friday, October 07, 2011 10:58 I was able to verify the story below and it is true. "The Freedom Group has been buying up American gun and ammunition manufactures freedom-group.com The Freedom Group is control by Cerberus Capital Management which is controlled by George Soros which controls all arms & ammo makers in the US. forum.davidicke.com/showthread.php?t=142044 The George Soros controlled private equity company Cerberus Capital Management could cut off all gun and ammunition sales in the US. Apparently, the American people are totally unaware that Cerberus has for the past decade acquired nearly every gun and ammunition maker in the United States and consolidated them into a holding company called The Freedom Group. For the last several years a company called "The Freedom Group" has been buying up American gun and ammunition manufacturers. www.freedom-group.com/ Some of these companies are: Bushmaster, Marlin, Remington, DPMS, Dakota Arms and H&R. DPMS Panther Arms NEF Dakota Arms LC Smith Parker AAC Barnes Bullets EOTAC INTC Some people worry that Freedom Group is going to control most of the firearms companies in the United States. Of course, If you control the manufacturers you can decide not to sell to civilians, or, you can raise the prices to rediculous levels or you can make the supply of guns and ammo scarce - all sorts of logjams. What a perfect way to control America's guns! If you do some digging you will see that The Freedom Group is owned by a Wall Street investment company called "Cerberus Capital Management". "Cerberus" in the epic book "The Inferno" by Dante Alighieri, is a three-headed demon hound (from Roman mythology) that guards the Gates of Hell to prevent those damned souls who have just crossed the river Styx, from escaping back to the world. Investor GEORGE SOROS owns Cerberus! bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2009/10/cerberus-plans-ipo-for-freedom-group-companies-remington-bushmaster-marlin-dpms/ Here's a comment from this web site: Cerberus is big enough to make waves in Washington. Money talks in politics and Cerberus has lots of it.”

Smuggled U.S. ammo feeds drug wars
survivalshop replied to imschur's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
I see it now , gun control through ammunition control or ban. These people will not rest until we are all unarmed & defenseless. -
As said above , Quality parts & lubrication & you will find the big bore AR's work really well. I do have one of mine (CMMG lower)that just will not work correctly with the Pmags ,but doesn't miss a beat with metal ones , so I use the Pmags for my DPMS build . The DPMS build doesn't care what mag brand ,as long as it has ammo in it .

My bet's on some kind of new ammo . He did look kinda manly in those boots . Very techno cool ! <laughs>

I ordered a Mag-Tec 308 mag yesterday & also a three pak of the new Troy AR 16/15 battle mags to do testing on & will get a Promag 308 next order ,of course all from Brownells .

Media Silence Is Deafening About Important Gun News
survivalshop replied to 98Z5V's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
The anti gun media is owned by anti America owners & they put people in to run them with there common views, so what do you expect ? Who do you think pulls on the puppet strings of BO ! -
The anti gunners have had a long time to set up this with putting there people in the right places ,just look at the Supreme court. What most people don't realize is , this has been a concentrated effort on there part to undermine our Constitutional rights & this country 's ways for a long time . It was said that the only way to defeat America is from with in ,because we are too strong to take on in a face to face fight.

The Mag tec is 39.95 & the pro Mag is 29.95. Yes the PMag is cheaper ,but won't work in my CMMG lower. Both mags available from Brownells,in stock. They look like they changed the Lower receivers for there 308 rifles ,of course , they show them with a PMag in them . Edgecrusher I may be interested in your CProducts mags.

Any one have any input on the ProMag or MagTec 308 mags?
-
Didn't seem they were even shipping them yet . That thread has been going on for months .
-
Any one handled or shot/own one of the new CMMG 308's ?
-
Well maybe its, "his" play pen ! <laughs> Glad to see you got her to function. Have you looked at the POF roller cam pin replacement ? I have one in my 16" & it seems to work fine . Not that ya need something other than the std. cam pin ,but it may help. Since you plan on buying another cam pin , any way. Just another option.

I don't think it would be too hard to convert the rifle length system to a Mid-length. It looks like a nifty idea ,but I'm not about to drop the "I double dog dare ya" on you, for this one . We need a nother Ginny pig (woops ,I mean experimenter ) for this one & since I'm not into piston AR's ,that leaves me out . <thumbsup>

That trim die looks like its for the Dillon powered trimmer.
