Wonder why the 300BLK rifles are $ 100 more then the AR 15 in .556 ?

If the 16" works on this Lower , its an issue with the 18" Upper , probably Gas related , but I wouldn't rule out a fitment or Friction issue . How far does the Gas Tube protrude into the Upper Receiver , photo of that if you can get it also, just curious . Any rub makes on the 18" that you don't see on the 16" Upper ? What are the finishes of the Two Upper Receivers , Are they Different ?

It will always be less expensive to purchase a complete Rife , then to build one . Then if you don't like something you can change it , the DPMS GII will work , just add your Optics & see how you like it . its well below your target weight & I don't usually endorse built rifles , but in this case it , it fits & you don't have to do any tweaking . Well , never mind , I see you purchased a Receiver set.

In reality a pined 14.5" bbl. is just that , a 14.5" rifled bbl. with a pined Muzzle device on it , even though its over all bbl. length is to BATF regulations , State DNR can specify RIFLED bbl. Length as a regulation & yo can shout to the highest authority , but they make Hunting Regulations in their perspective State & it has nothing to do with BATF regulations . They can & do make up their own Firearms Hunting regulations & they will hold up in court , since you will be in their State , in their courts , good luck to you fighting that , I'll buy the pop corn . If you are caught with a Violation , your firearm can be confiscated , but most likely you will be ticketed with a fine & you hunt will be over until you are in compliance .

DPMS 308 Carbine Buffer & Spring with Collapsable stock. Does your ST have a Buffer system already & you want to replace it or it doesn't have one & need a set up ? Switching to an AR 10Armalite set up you will need an Armalite Receiver Extension ( Buffer Tube ) with their Buffer & Spring . DPMS uses AR 15 Receiver Extensions .An Upgraded spring could be a Tubb's Flat Wire Spring or one of the custom Spring makers .

I think you will find that the DNR can make any regulation about firearms or hunting equipment they chose in their State . I would not want to spend the $$ trying to fight it , you would lose .

The DNR May define barrel length as Rifled Barrel length, so no the 14.5" would not meet their definition , I would suspect .

Sorry to here that , hope it works out for you . I got pulled over ( I was on my ATV ) in Ohio , on private land , I was on the way to my stand & passed with in 20 yards of a road & who happened to be passing by , ODNR . They stopped & I had my loaded 44 on my hip , in plain sight & long story short , ticketed me for loaded firearm in a motor vehicle , told me I just had to send in the waver , well thats not the way the Judge saw it , they were going to issue a warrant for me not showing up , that is until I pointed out that on the Ticket , it read I was on an ATV , in the woods Hunting . I should have fought it , because I was on Private land & they really had no right to even stop me , but said fuk it & just pay the fine .

Thanks for the review . Pretty much , all 308AR's are heavy & a good scope can really add the weight , depending what it is .
