  1. Shot placement is more critical with a smaller caliber, but they will still work . I was shot with a .22 & it put me down . Still have the bullet in the muscle tissue of my spine . Its been there since 1977. The newer ammo with the new type bullets they are using , make good self defence ammo. There is nothing wrong with the 9MM as long as the right ammo is used. The 380 is so popular because of its size. They can be worn or carried just about any where.
  2. I,m almost out of Venison , so I can't wait to get out there . I hunt in Ohio & live in Florida , so gun week is my time . I work too much & that week is all I have any more. Wouldn't mind trying a bow hunt for Moose or Elk .
  3. gee, doesn't our gov.(BO's administration ) own a lot of these banks . Back door way of putting the industry out of business ?
  4. First off ,I'm no spring expert, but I know the wrong spring for the application opens up a lot of problems . Being stronger , may be only at its full or close to full compression , in this case . How it compresses & releases is engineered into them . What type stock are you running , full rifle or collapsible ? I also find it strange that the wrong spring was installed & also shipped to you . From the photos of the springs and if I'm counting right , it looks like 36 coils on the one & 34 on the other , but I may be counting them wrong.(every time I count them ,I get different counts :P ) Also is you receiver extention ,on correctly. Looks like the buffer could be skipping over the buffer retaining pin . As said ,I would like to see a photo of the BCG in the upper receiver ,that you say doesn't look right.
  5. I would like to see photos of the BCG in the upper receiver . The marks on the buffer are from the buffer stop . I would look closely at the stops hole in the lower receiver & see if its getting beat up . By the time the buffer gets to the point where it is stopped by the buffer stop , it should have slowed down considerably, because the bolt is cam-ing into lock position . The forward motion of the buffer from the wrong spring ( & inertia of the buffer its self)may be to fast & hard.
  6. Its taken me a while to absorb all the data they have & I'm not done looking it over yet ,but I think this is a more practical idea then all the others out there . The round seems to shine out of a short bbl.. I think rounds like the 6. what evers are trying to make them self's up to be on par with the 308 (not doing too well ether ) This round takes a whole different approach.
  7. Origanal revolvers are hard to come by now a days . I have bought three in the last two years , a Colt Anaconda (44mag. ) a S&W Mod. 19 target master (357.mag. ) & a Colt King Cobra (357 mag. ) The shop I go to has some of the new as said offerings In the Taurus, but once in a while he has some good used revolvers (I think I buy most of them ) When I bought the King Cobra , he had two Pythons ,one in .357 mag . & a 22LR mod. I forget whats its true designation is , but both had never been fired & even the cylinder had not been turned . He was keeping them of course . I'm still looking for a Org. S&W "N " frame in 45 LC..
  8. My notes read that my 16" barrel ,the gas hole on the barrel is about 0.241" from the barrel shoulder , where the gas block would seat or stop .This measurement is not to dead ctr. of the gas hole , but to the near edge. I have a measurement of 0.288" to ctr. on my bbl.. Now if DPMS is making a bbl. that is different , Why? Why just one particular bbl. made with those specs. Granted ,I don't have a DPMS bbl. of any type , but why this one bbl. type or is this a change that is coming to all DPMS bbl.'s?
  9. Shows how much he keeps up on whats going on in the firarms biz , & he's a dealer !
  10. well , I put some cash down on it to hold for me till next week. This just puts me behind on getting my XDM 45. I told the owner it was his fault . He shouldn't show me this stuff.
  11. I have one with out an assist on my 16" & don't have a problem .I have never needed it on my 20 ". Now an AR 15/16 in 5.56 , that would be different.
  12. I would say minute of Elk. Bill does good work.
  13. Yep, if its still there when they open tomarrow , I will pick it up . I was shooting its bigger brother today & having a scoped 44 mag. is kinda cool . I have never had a scoped handgun before. I 'm getting the feel of the scope better than last year , when I first got it . I will feel much better once I down a Deer with the Anaconda.
  14. The fun shop just got a trade in Colt ,King Cobra & I'm kicking around wether I need another 357 mag.. With Colt Revolvers ,just going up yearly . I wounder if I need a safe queen . Its a 4" S/S. Whats the census , gentlemen .
  15. Its adj., but man that is a well made stock . I had no idea how one felt till a week ago or two. There are not too many fixed type stocks out there, the PRS is I would say, sets the standard. I like my A2 on my 20"HB, It does make the rifle a little front heavy , but I'm not sure I want any more weight on the rifle .12+ lbs. already , empty.
  16. Are not the 22 conversions hard on hammer pins , if so it will be a good test.
  17. Ya need to take some measurements or compare the barrel to another, if possable . I'm just curious as to what is so different .
  18. I will be forced to build ANOTHER, AR 308 .Damn !
  19. Not sure what to say about the bronze inserts in the hammer & trigger . Kinda like a problem waiting to happen. Not to mention I believe the bronze will wear before the friction surface of the pins that go in them . Making a premature loose fit . Might be a smoother system for the life of the bronze though . Interesting .
  20. And exactly why would you want to go to the 338 Fed. . I see the comparison is done with a 154 gr. bullet in the 308 & the 338 is done with a 194 gr. bullet . No wounder it comes up with more muzzle energy or am I reading this comparison thing all wrong . I'm a reloader & the 33 cal bullet in a case with about the same cap. as a .308 , doesn't lift my skirt much. Just talking out loud. Enlighten me .
  21. Looks good . Looks like you have a later model DPMS upper receiver.
  22. Put a .308 ,CProducts mag next to a DPMS or Magpul & look what you find.
  23. And what are they talking about ?
