  1. Welcome rdb241! Good fix on that. Jon
  2. 6-8 euro cents per shot, figure a dime on average for pistol cartridges for the American market. At that price, who cares if it is reloadable. Jon
  3. A good lecture on wound ballistics...let it run past the dude in his kitchen. Interesting when the doctor says "Skin is four times more resistant to bullets than muscle tissue." Jon
  4. Welcome Brushawg! Looking forward to your build progress. Jon
  5. Well now... That sure stomps the hell out of a T/C Contender or Encore! <thumbsup> Jon
  6. If that's the new term for a "reach-around" then, no! I didn't get one of those either! >:( Jon
  7. Welcome carbon9! To the world of accessories and brokeness and waiting on that next big payday! Jon
  8. My buddy laid down his Sporty on the way back to his trailer in Tombstone, after touring the bars, skidding through an intersection with one big lamp lighting the area. He said he turned around and looked and the whole road had a chrome stripe leading up to his bike. <laughs> Jon
  9. That's about right! Jon
  10. One day we were driving in a car and it had JUST started to sprinkle a couple of minutes before. This dude on a Silverwing up several car lengths in front of us had the light turn yellow on him, so he hit his brakes hard and skidded on a slick oily spot in the center of the lane, then his front wheel hit dry and the rear whipped around. Rather than let go of the front brake he let go of the handle bars and went down in a SMACKing type action. He jumped up, looked around like "I hope nobody saw that!", realized EVERYONE saw it and then tried to pick up the bike. At that point you could see him reacting to PAIN in his hands and knees, deciding he had better go sit down while others moved his bike. All that took like 5 seconds. Jon
  11. Sweet! You're going to be like a kid in a candy shop! Jon
  12. One time after consuming a quantity of tequila at Patagonia Lake and deciding I needed a booty call, I headed off up to Sierra Vista to see this woman I knew on my R80ST Beemer. Plenty of time and road at 0200 to needle off the speedo at 120+mph...took quite a bit of hunkering on the tank to get that. To this day I'm really, REALLY happy no deer made a jump out like that! Jon
  13. What's that about the worst day riding? About the 2:30 mark: Jon
  14. Alright! Looks like the smaller the better...contrary to what all the women say...about me. Grace is the Mossy 930...we're planning a nose-job and some dental work for her. Jon
  15. Let's give this a try...again! Jon
  16. .308s are a pleasure to buy! Compared to my .25-20, which I have only handloaded ammo so far for it. When I bought it ammo was $35 for 50. Went the other day and a box of 50 anemic factory loads were $65!!! Jon
  17. I had a small issue with a couple of #8 light shot shells not ejecting all the way on the first couple of mags. Now it scarfs anything I put in it, in any order I put it in! Jon
  18. Dang Tom! That dude must have big hands! Your nails are looking good by the way. :limp-wrist: :hah: <lmao> Jon
  19. What was the verdict on the range report? Good feeding? Proper ejection? Inquiring minds want to know! Jon
  20. Careful with Berry's, use as little crimp as possible. Some have reported to me that a tight crimp results in a nice copper guilding down the barrel with higher velocities. Jon
  21. We have a veritable arsenal of .22s, as they are best to teach with. And they are addicting! Classes usually go from .22s up to the centerfires, and then students ask "Can I shoot the .22 ______ again?" <thumbsup> Some of the funnest times I've had have been with .22s of all sorts. Jon
  22. Now that I think about it, the REAL reason I moved to the 308AR platform is...I was cleaning out some stuff and found half a box of .308 Win and I said "Crap! Now I need to get another .308 to shoot this stuff off!" Jon
  23. <laughs> I thought I was going to hurt MYSELF trying to get that nylon-based shrink wrap off! Jon
  24. Me too! The more I shoot Liberty (Elite Operator) the more I want to shoot it...<sigh> It seems to be about perfect for a carbine sized .308AR. My devious brain is performing mods hourly, all day to the Freedom Machine. Damn Brownell's catalog. Jon
