  1. Brian, I can't help on the trades but Welcome! Jon
  2. Was considering moving there as a bush pilot! Then I found out "bush" meant something else entirely different. Jon
  3. Andrew Jackson said of a supreme court ruling "He has his ruling, now let's see him enforce it." As kick ass as that sounds, it is how all politicians from either side conduct business now days. Their actions are a self-serving free-for-all, with any public speeches meant to satisfy half and pissoff the other half. Jon
  4. LAR-8 has ambi mag release AND bolt release. <thumbsup> Jon
  5. TiNi will make them gold-en for years and years and years. But I'm sure you know that. Jon
  6. The Mossberg 464s had issues when they first came out, don't know if they are resolved yet. Extractors are stamped and would break and/or detach. Their are others too that make good levers. I still want a Henry, as they are made in Brooklyn, NY, kind of a way to say "Screw you Schumer!" Jon
  7. Dude! Can I call you dude? Met with flying colors! I only go regularly to a couple of forums, this one and another one daily. 308AR ROCKS!! I will leave if I see the infamous "christmas booty" pic. :o Jon
  8. Soofley, hold onto your first guns!! You'll find legions of people that regret selling that first gun. I've gone full-circle...bought and sold most one of everything, now restocking that stuff I really wish I hadn't gotten rid of it. Jon
  9. I have a book on the history of military motorcycles. I kid you not, the French fielded a VESPA with a stamped metal seat and ape hanger bars. The seat was directly on top of an 75mm recoiless rifle. Holy crap I found it! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vespa_150_TAP Talk about gas. EDIT: To change it from Italians to French. poop you can probably find one used in great condition! Never fired and only dropped once. Jon
  10. When you go to the website you want to share, double click in the address box and the http should get highlighted. Then press simultaneously the control (cntrl) and the C keys. This will copy the address for you. Go to where you want to share the address and place your cursor in the message box. Then simultaneously press the cntrl and V keys and BAM! it will appear like magic. There are other longer ways but that is what I use. Jon
  11. Welcome! Glad you made it gh0stface! For my purposes (at the moment...these guys have convinced me I have other purposes) I went with a lower power scope 2-7x33mm. Reasonable for upclose, decent for out to 600. Jon
  12. Howdy MegaTon! Welcome to 308AR!! Jon
  13. Lott designed the .458 Lott, after he got the perception that the .458 Winchester Magnum was inadequate. He shot a cape buffalo which then stomped him. These days a modern firearm to shoot something like that .700 NE would have a very effective muzzle brake. If I'm shooting it. <lmao> Jon
  14. Joined the U.S. Navy at 17 when Mom signed, went through Airman apprenticeship training, and was assigned to the USS John F. Kennedy CV-67. V-2 "Primary Mission Division", catapults and arresting gear, main work center was the waist catapults. It was a dirty, filthy, loud job, with at-sea work shifts averaging 30 hours and a 2 to 4 hour nap between shifts often times. After working multiple jobs after the Navy (did you know airports don't have steam catapults?), worked four years in AZ Dept. of Corrections as a CO. With twenty one years to go until retirement, I decided to find another career. What did you folks do? Jon
  15. Woohoo!! <thumbsup> Jon
  16. Greetings squid Spaniky73! From former squid in AZ! With an RRA LAR-8! Operator here though. Jon
  17. I busted the Soros thing to someone else but they claimed they saw an ownership list on a business oriented website, and it's true! It's true! I don't care who owns those companies...their quality controls suck due to penny pinching. They've ceased all operation of Marlin lever-gun due to stupid management. Bushmaster had issues when Big R took over too. Always the same thing...move operations, make it impossible for trained skillsmen to stay with the move, pinch pennies, dissatisfy customers, laugh all the way to the bank. It is a major problem when non-gun money makers get into making guns, they don't care about guns. If the government says "Shut down operations," there goes a majority of gun makers. Jon
  18. Former Navy and former corrections...does that count? Jon
  19. Hola from AZ, Mariodesmo! Never heard of Tactical Machining myself. Looking forward to learning more. Jon
  20. This one? http://www.militarymorons.com/ Never heard of it. Jon
  21. Unforgiven, that type of love already has a platform...either by John Browning or Ronny Barrett! Jon
  22. If you want, we can set up a day to go out to TRC. They go out to 500 for the general public, 1000 if you are a member. At MSC we can squeeze out 440 or so. Jon
  23. Not anymore. Waiting for a firm date in January. Jon
  24. What sorcery is this?! <thumbsup> Okay...that answers my question. Now I want video of you riding your quad and UNLOADING the 930 SPX at a target, then doing a reload with a ghost round for the next pass. <munch> Jon
  25. What's out there? When I was a kid, there was tons of web gear surplus from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Just about everything had the double hook that attached to eyelets on a web belt. Over the years came the nylon stuff...nylon with velcro, buckles, and loops. The pinnacle seems to be the current issue MOLLE gear. What are you using? Jon
