  1. It was a 4 gun raffle put on by the Choir Boys LEMC in Phoenix for their C.U.F.F.S. run (the same one I was at last year when I met you for lunch Tom). The other guns were a Thompson 45 ACP carbine, a Uberti 45 Colt SAA, and an Auto Ordinance 1911. I actually bought the ticket at our Fallen Officer Run in El Paso back on the 1st. of September, I didn't make it to the Phoenix run due to the budget issues I've had. http://www.cuffsrun.com/#!choir-boys-gun-raffle/c24mh If they do it again next year I'll post contact info for any of you guys that want to get tickets. BTW, we (New Mexico Region Choir Boys) will be raffling off an RIA Tactical 1911 at our run in late May or early June, one of these; I will be doing a trigger job on it and probably some other upgrades, I might even try and talk Tom into doing a FDE Cerakote job on it!
  2. I love this stuff! I was a snare drummer in my highschool marching band.
  3. <lmao> It's been a good year for sure!
  4. Thanks for the feedback guys! <thumbsup>
  5. Well, the price was definitely right! I've got $30 in it, $10 in raffle tickets and $20 shipping. My LGS doesn't charge me for transfers.

    SIG SP2022

So, I won a Sig SP2022 in a raffle but it was in Phoenix and I'm waiting for it to get to my LGS. Any of you guys have any experience with this particular gun? It's a 40 S&W. I know Sig's in general are pretty good guns but I have absolutely no experience with this one.
  7. I have always chamfered the holes like you described, with a ball shaped cutting bit in a Dremel. The other thing you should do is put a drop of red loctite on each of the posts of the plunger tube before putting it in the frame and staking it. The loctite fills the voids and after it sets up it keeps the plunger tube from moving around in the frame. We used to do the same thing with front sights on 1911's back when we were staking them on the slide, back before dovetail front sights became common. We chamfered the hole for the front sight tenon inside the slide too before staking.
  8. If they know you're armed and they're still bent on carrying out their deed guess who will be the first person they take out, usually without warning! If I have to use a gun I prefer to be the one that has surprise on my side!
  9. Haha! Too bad, so sad, sucks to be you! <thumbsup>
  10. Tom, it would be legal. As long as YOU machine YOUR receiver it's legal. I read that it is even legal for someone to buy one and charge people on a per use basis, just as long as they are the ones doing their own receiver. On this machine I would guess that amounts to clamping it in the machine, flipping a switch and standing there and watching while the machine does it's thing.
  11. A little to rich for my budget but if any of y'all want to get me one for Christmas feel free to do so! https://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products/product3.php?pid=TA31-C-100411
  12. ^^^^^^This! <thumbsup>
  13. Good one Mike! I just showed that to my granddaughter and her friend who is sleeping over tonight. They are both cheerleaders! Great timing! <lmao>
  14. And the crowd went wild! Oorah!
  15. Bwahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I'm more of a classical music kind of guy myself! :hethan:
  17. That's exactly what popped into my head when I watched that!
  18. That was painful just to watch!
  19. I've got two of the ALG Defense ACT triggers. I really like those things for the money!
  20. That was awesome, a real eye opener! <thumbsup>
  21. Can you post a pic of the jig? There are two different contours of beavertails, the Wilson and the Ed Brown. I can tell which jig you have if you can post a pic.
  22. Oh snap! I thought you had a beavertail grip safety which is already relieved for a Commander type hammer. You have a Commander hammer with a Govt. Model grip safety, those two parts were never made to work together without doing what you just did with your dremel tool! Now I know why your slide wouldn't go back! Pictures always help! I like the frame, who's slide is that?
  23. Cool! A ghost gun factory in a box, I like it! <thumbsup>
  24. That is one of the reasons cited for using a full length guide rod. It is pretty rare for the short rod to be an issue though. After all, it worked pretty good for the first 60-70 years of the pistol's existence!
  25. Now THAT is a great looking rifle! <thumbsup>
