  1. Honestly gloves make it worse for me, they are sticker than my hands alone and remove the feel. I suppose I could use some cheap jersey gloves that slide easier but hat will just lead to other issues when manipulating the weapon.
  2. Another vote for the K2. I like the feel of the rubber on the plus version when I am pulling the trigger but it gives me issues when I go to manipulate controls, won't let my hand shift unless I really relax the grip on it.
  3. ADM will have a size that works, they have so many choices it can get confusing figuring out what measures what but they will guide you through it on the phone if you call. I'm not as familiar with LaRue mounts but I would bet they can do the same.
  4. I can't imagine that price would hold for long, there just aren't that many serious collectors to maintain that level of pricing. I know I won't have one if it is even half that!
  5. I always just rolled them over. ooops, never mind, should have read the whole thread.........
  6. I EDC a Surefire Titan plus due to its high lumens for the size but I think I may have to move to something closer to the Surefire Jacob shows off. I can see where speed of activation can be critical.
  7. Just the receiver, don't mount on the hand guard. Lots of companies make 35mm mounts, LaRue, ADM, Aadmount, Sphur, pretty sure Giessele does. I am sure there are more I am not thinking of. Are there cheap options, not really but it isn't a part to go cheap on.
  8. I think brother jacob did an excellent job, as usual, going over the point to consider on EDC flashlights;
  9. Check out the 224 Valkyrie; https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2017/10/30/the-keefe-report-224-valkyrie-rightly-the-next-big-thing/ or the 22 Nosler; https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2017/1/16/the-keefe-report-go-small-or-go-home-22-nosler/ These are AR-15 pattern cartridges but then you would save some weight and get pretty darn close to the same ballistics.
  10. The handguard will always have some flex to it compared to the receiver. Temperature will affect them a little differently as well. Best to use an extended mount if you can't get the rings both on the receiver. Something like this may get the job done;
  11. Not related to your function issue but with that scope bridging receiver and handguard you will have a hard time getting consistent accuracy, at least you won't experience the full potential.
  12. Welcome from Iowa, via Arkansas!
  13. ^+1! It amazed me how fast and how much gunk was packed into every empty space in the bolt when I started shooting suppressed. Your issues sound like what I get when it is time to clean a suppressed 308 AR. Even my 716 piston gun starts having these issues before it hits 100 rounds after cleaning, strangely my DI build lasts almost twice as long before a good cleaning is needed, so much for piston systems running cleaner. Edit: Have to add that on the 716 I have to keep turning up the gas as the round count goes up to get the bolt to catch. I haven't figured out exactly why but when I clean it up I can start back at the suppressed setting and the bolt locks back.
  14. I've got a Sig P938 Extreme, just a hair bigger but 9mm. Some of the parts, like the trigger are interchangeable with the Mustang. Took three trips back to Sig to make it reliable but 1,000 rounds later and I have the confidence to carry it. It took half those rounds for me to figure out how to hit with it. My Father could shoot lights out with it from the get go so I knew it could be done. I'd like to wish Springfield luck on the new offering but can't, their political shenanigans last year put them on my do not buy list.
  15. Welcome from Iowa! Have you looked at Criterion yet, sold at Fulton Armory? Hard to beat them and very reasonable price for what you get; http://www.fulton-armory.com/barrel65creedmoorfatitan24nmbullss1x8900muzzle-1.aspx

  18. I doubt you have issues with the 1/10, I have not seen any reports of it and did not see a difference between 1/11.25 and 1/10 myself. Shot some at 300 yards and no discernible difference. Problem now is finding the stuff!
  19. Just mistaken identity, another new member went off the rails and "resigned" his membership.
  20. Unless you reload some surplus black tips I don't think you will find a true armor piercing 7.62x51 round. I'm a big fan of the MK 319 mod 0 round, explosive expansion and a nice 55 grain solid copper base to follow up. http://palmettostatearmory.com/mk319-mod-0-7-62mm.html After several water jugs this was recovered; Here is one of the threads here on it;

  22. The LaRue MBT is every bit as good as the SSA and not far from the SSA-E but half the money, less if you catch the $99 sale.

  24. I have a soft case I got from Sig, believe it is the same as a Drago, I use it for trips to the range. When I drive around the country I use a Pelican and these from Plano; http://www.planomolding.com/hunting/rifle/all-weather-rifle-case The Plano is pretty damn close to the Pelican but much less money.
