Use bipods on Midwest Industries and Matrix free float tubes, mounted bottom front. Never had an issue loading them up, there may be a little flex on the longer ones but nothing I worry about.

Is that the Black Rifle coffee? Guy just gave me a bag of beans, Gun Ship I believe, gotta get a grinder so I can try it out when I get home for Christmas.

Armalite recommends that spring for both rifle and carbine systems. Seems like Slash may cut a coil or two for carbine but I can't find any confirmation on that.

DPMS pattern barrel and bolt will work. Most of the small parts will work except maybe the bolt catch and the pins, best to stick with Armalite parts for those. Might be advantageous to use the Armalite mag release as well.

I had that issue with a FA, pita! Drove out the pin on the FA then plugged the hole.

Poor extraction, when shooting suppressed I have to clean the chamber good after 70-100 rounds or I start having issues. Buffer weight won't matter if the extension tube depth allows the carrier to travel far enough to strike the tube or receiver. My Aero buffer kit allowed the carrier to strike my receiver just in front of the tube. I cut a small notch in the tube for the detent so I could get one more revolution inward with the extension and still had to add a couple quarters in the bottom of the tube so the carrier would not have so much forward travel before hitting the bolt catch, about 3/16 inch is where I ended up. You want that bumper on the buffer to hit the bottom of the tube before the carrier can hit the front of the tube or receiver.

Any marks inside the extension? Sounds like it is hanging up a bit from one side of the magazine. Could be a magazine issue or a rough spot in the extension. Might try a hunting round with a polymer tip.

I am not sure about the carrier but you can use a DPMS pattern bolt and barrel together in an AR-10 upper. Another thing to look for is the thread pattern on the barrel nut, two different patterns. Have you looked into buying from ArmaLite? They have some pretty decent prices on barrels lately. Running it suppressed but the bleed off side of the block is not adequate, works fine as a standard restrictive type block but then there are several on the market that are cheaper and lighter that will do the same.

The version I have has 10 mils per revolution as well, looks like they made the change from 5 mils a couple years back. Someday I hope to put that to use!
