  1. Can you be sure it is new? Possibly it has had the furniture and sights updated. Is the white eagle stamp on the front of the magwell?
  2. There is really no different view, your carbine extension will work with any length gas system. The caveat to that is the systems need a balance to function best. I have a 16 inch barrel with a rifle gas system and a carbine extension that functions great. I had to open up the gas port some so it would function with all types of ammo. When I got a suppressor it over gassed the system so I put an adjustable gas block on it. You can also "tune " the system with different buffer weights and different springs. Spend a bunch of time with the search function here and you will find weeks worth of reading on the different parts of the system, what works and what doesn't.
  3. And even better, life in a Louisiana prison as a child molester!
  4. Freedom was what I had issues with. I had good results for years then got a large batch with a bunch that wouldn't chamber or would stick if they did. They did refund me for the portion I didn't use but the experience soured me to them. Looks like a good price for the Fiocchi.
  5. Depends on who reloaded them. I used to use a good bit of remanufactured ammo but had some bad experiences, no blow ups but lots of stuck cases and some real crappy accuracy.

That asparagus grabbed my attention , patch at home is in full swing and I won't be home to enjoy it for another week and a half. Hope it's a long season this year!
  8. Has a plate you swap out that moves the front pin and changes the magazine well size. Seemed like a good idea but never really took off. https://www.armsunlimited.com/Colt-LE901-Magazine-Adapter-Block-Conversion-Kit-p/sp99415.htm
  9. No pink allowed, Dad wasn't as "open minded " as you Sisco
  10. Very cool! Started reloading much the same way your daughter is, my first task was cleaning out primer pockets.
  11. Wonder if a rifled choke would count? http://www.choketube.com/choke-tube-style-details.php?rifled-shotgun-choke-tubes&cts=28
  12. My D Wilson bolt in my Matrix build has a bit of a crater effect from the hole being a touch big but it has not been an issue, never had a rupture. I'm pretty sure it is not a pressure issue as it does it with everything including the ZQ1 and other underpowered ammo. It is the only one of several D Wilson BCG's I have that do this, haven't tried swapping a firing pin from the extra parts kit yet..............
  13. All that's left is figuring out what best to feed the beast
  14. You don't need a dimple with a clamp style block. I really like my SLR adjustable gas blocks. Tried one from Superlative but the bleed off system wouldn't adjust for the 308, maxed out and didn't cut enough gas.
  15. Watched the video for a bit, till I heard "same size except for". Looking forward to seeing the RECOIL review, they tend to beat stuff up pretty good and give an honest review.
  16. SS, I hope you scan all your loading notes for posterity. With all the detailed testing and experimenting you do those would be some valuable notes for loaders. I hope to get back on the bench when I retire from this traveling circus and would love to be able to reference all your work.
  17. They do not use it on their 5.56 rifles, they are designated M-15's. https://armalite.com/product-category/complete-firearms/m-15/ Even there second line Eagle product in 5.56 does not, they are Eagle-15's https://armalite.com/shop/eagle-15-2/ Now on the rest of their rifles in other calibers they use AR, this is obviously something to do with how that lawsuit was decided, must be a caliber specific thing. Are other makers actually using AR to designate a rifle or is it just the community calling them that?
  18. I think you could upgrade a regular iron sight set with these parts from Armalite, they are clearing them out, save you from buying RRA after there foray into politics; https://armalite.com/?s=national+match
  19. Atlas bi-pods are an exception to that, they fold both ways no matter which way you install them.
  20. Even some of our own members that sell parts improperly use AR-10; http://www.dwilsonmfg.com/store/c5/AR10_Parts.html He corrects it right away in the description of the product so why use it in the title? Google, that's why! More people use and search for AR-10 so if you are selling parts and want to be found then you need a popular search term in the title. I learned this lesson first hand selling old tools on eBay, words like Stanley and Disston could double the number of hits I got on an item. When it comes to the misuse of AR-10 all we can do is keep putting the word out, if Armalite doesn't get their QC issues handled then eventually the term will loose its luster for drawing hits.
  21. Those scope mounts are solid stuff for the money. I had one of their 10 inch rails for a short time, a friend convinced me to sell it to him for a build since I didn't have a plan for it yet, it was a very well built rail. Some of those prices are the same as the Armalite site but as GRA mentioned, finding parts in stock there can be a challenge. Figures neither site has the buffer kit I need for the Brother-in-law's build in stock.
  22. Guess I have both
  23. Armalite actually calls their version a M15. https://armalite.com/product-category/complete-firearms/m-15/
  24. Good one!
