  2. "Destroys" implies that he actually accomplished something. Trey is great at rhetoric but like the congress as a whole, he very rarely accomplishes anything.
  3. I've had great experiences with customer service at d. wilson as well. Never had to send anything back but I've had questions several times and always gotten rapid responses straight from the man. It's rare to get such red carpet treatment in this day and age.
  4. Found an interesting site that does tracking; http://www.nfatracker.com/Default.aspx

  6. R.I.P. Brother. I'm sure that last P.L.F. in heaven will be a soft one.
  7. Welcome from Iowa, via North Carolina! Looking forward to hearing more on that rifle, we get very little info on building FAL type rifles here.
  8. Some people seem to have good luck with the Burris mount but the one I had failed on me twice. The adjustment lever would stretch over time then pop loose while shooting. Burris rapidly replaced it but it happen again. I use ADM for a quick release and Armalite for the scopes I don't swap around. My next mount will be a Spuhr mount, expensive but they have it all going for them.
  9. I'm for getting the federal government out of anything related to education. They are totally out of their jurisdiction given by the constitution, as in the 10th amendment.
  10. Congrats! You got a good price on a great rifle. Lots of extras on it for the money. Shoot the poop out of it!
  11. Had that issue on my Matrix build, with a d Wilson BCG, swapped the ejector spring for an Armalite spring and haven't seen the problem again. More good advice from the forum, thanks SS!
  12. 50 cents in the tube solved that issue for me on a Matrix build I did with an Areo buffer system, thanks Tom!
  13. Rules is rules Ed...........
  14. I'm an Armalite fan but have a B model as well. Very accurate rifle and never a glitch in around 3,000 rounds. I read a review somewhere on the tactical model but can't seem to find it again, the only negative mentioned was the excessively large comp didn't perform like they thought it should. If the rifle has all the extras your looking for then it might be priced right for you but if you plan to change out any components it seems a little overpriced. I never see them on the street so there is a chance they sell for less at a shop if you find one. Part of what you pay for and get with Armalite is great customer service, if there is an issue they will take care of it, no problems.
  15. I'm counting on the dealer to have properly packaged the documents. He was mailing them for me after the boss and others got a chance to see them, I'm the guinea pig so everyone at the LGS wants to learn from my trip down the rabbit hole. I know I left them with a hard copy of my trust to duplicate and then emailed a PDF version so they can print them on future purchases, I believe I'll be paying for an AAC Illusion 9 pistol suppressor first of June, gotta beat that rule change!
  16. Let me know if you need one, I have a couple extra floating around somewhere. Edit; I found three, one is about an 1/8th inch longer than the other two.
  17. 4 hours, a bunch of phone calls, and a tree's worth of wasted paper but I have a form 4 on the way to the ATF! I finally got them to agree that a trust negated the fingerprint, photo, and CLEO signoff requirements! Just hope my form 4 doesn't become any more of a learning experience than it has already been.............. Discovered another bonus to using my LGS, I will be able to use the suppressor at their indoor range while I wait for the stamp
  18. I've researched that and found two issues, I really want to support my local dealer and Silencer Shop does not have the SDN-6 I want in stock right now. If I can't get anywhere with the dealer today then I'll have to backup and punt. I hope to get a silencer for my MK-25 in June and will most likely just deal with Silencer shop then.
  19. Amen Brother!
  20. With Iowa recently legalizing suppressor ownership for private citizens and then the new rules for trusts going into effect July 13th I'm trying to get as much bought as I can as soon as I can. I got the trust documents from Silencer Shop all filled out and notarized, easy stuff once I got all the trustees organized with a notary. Then I go to my LGS to tell him to make sure and save one of the AAC 7.62-SDN-6's he has ordered for me. He tells me he has the serial number for it already so we can start the paperwork, the confusion begins, I'll be his first suppressor sale! He tries to call someone to tell him what he has to do for paperwork on a trust but after 4 different calls find empty offices he gives that up. His help is dead set that I still need to fill out the entire form 4, CLEO sign off, photo's, fingerprint cards, the whole smear even with the trust. I've done a ton of research that tells me otherwise but I figured I'd get the stuff together, photo was a quickie at walmart, fingerprint cards not so easy, Sheriff's office tells me I have to supply the cards, back to the LGS, the owner is a Cop and tells me he knows they have the correct applicant cards on hand, back to the Sheriff's office just in time to see it close. An evening of reading from different websites and the ATF website and I'm even more convinced his help is wrong. Everything I've heard tells me one box filled out wrong and the whole process starts over again so I want it done right. I've printed about 30 pages of instructions I found while researching buying with a trust in hopes of getting it right. I'm wishing I didn't have to "lead the way" on this one but if I have to it will be "all the way"...............hope I can post a succesful after action review tomorrow............have to pray for some patience tonight, wish me luck.

    Grilling

Finally got a chance to to do a little BBQ of my own; 5 pound chunk of pork from my little brothers organic farm, wish he was here to enjoy it with us. No fancy equipment, just a plain old propane grill with the vents foiled shut, hickory chips in a foil pack on the side with the burner on low while the pork hangs out on the other side. 5 hours later and I have a belly full of smoky goodness.
