  1. I'm thinking he was reaching for a gunshot wound............
  2. At least the main stream media is starting to report on it. With the FBI investigating there will be no comment to any questions though.......

    Shhhhhhh.....................
  6. Used one of their 5.56 pencil barrels just recently and it was clean when I got it, they must have missed the cleaning step after the QPQ process on yours. Can't wait to get back home and see how mine shoots!
  7. I got to .1005" before my rifle would function with whatever I put in it. I'm sure this will depend on the rest of the components used. If your going with a FSGB and standard midlength gas system then the number would change, plenty of good factory barrels to choose from in midlength but not sure what profile you would need to mount the sight.
  8. If you mean a 16 inch rifle length gas system then yes. http://criterionbarrels.com/barrels/.308_AR/ar-10-hybrid You can special order from X-Caliber.............better tell them what size gas port though.
  9. VERY tight in the front especially. I didn't need to drive the pin with a hammer but it was close. It was real challenging to get the front tabs slid together the first few times, wore the finish some at the joints as well. Once together it moved just fine, no wiggle at all!

  13. We utilized both pork and beef oysters, always the young ones never touch an old boar. Had the family and neighbors show up to help with the harvest then cooked them up , fried and on the grill, for a big feast. Very rich and oh so tasty!
  14. Does it jam on every shot after that first ten each time you load the mag? How many rounds through the rifle? Are you using enough lube to make it drip out the mag well? You should break it in dripping wet with a good lube. Have you tried different mags? Will it lock back on an empty mag when only one round is loaded? Is it possible it is short stroking and picking up the round with the carrier instead of the bolt?
  15. Educating the people at FRN on the 308 AR platform would be a big plus, I listen to them a bunch and hear some questionable info. I kinda like the action when the trolls show up;-)
  16. Not sure he should have been called out as a member of ST6, maybe let that out down the road when it is a little safer.
  17. Nice rifle.....and I also wear socks with sandals, I hate sunburned toes!
  18. Nice looking rifle! I have an Atlas myself, pricy but I've forgot all about that after using it a couple years. I had a bipod like yours, it literally fell apart after several hundred rounds.
  19. I'm betting if you shoot Dave an email he can take care of you; dwilsonmfg@gmail.com
  20. Looks like they are in stock now, nothing says they are out? I've always gotten my order in a few days at most. With the 10% off and the reasonable shipping d. wilson is right there with Aero on price.
  21. The DI system is basically a piston system the "piston" is just in another location. it would take a good bit of carbon to jam either system. In my experience with high volume shooting in the M-16 the carbon buildup would end up breaking up and being blown through the system, it wasn't hard enough to cause any failure. Shooting blanks in training was the worst as far as carbon buildup but still never saw an issue even when no lube was used.
  22. They just called and told me my order was cancelled :-(
  23. They just changed the price to $47.00 a box of 50, that didn't take long.
  24. I just ordered 10 boxes, hope they go ahead and honor the transaction, billed my card $47.50. That is 10 cents a round! http://store.freedomfirstoutfitters.com/product.hornady-american-gunner-ammunition-308-winchester-155-grain-hollow-point-boat-tail-box-of-50-61
  25. There is a bumper on the end of the buffer, maybe it compresses some. Could also be carrier tilt allowing contact, not sure but it sure looks like the dings I had on mine, I used an Aero tube as well and they are known for this issue. I notched my tube to get more threads engaged and secure the detent better as well, it was just captured by the tube and was leaning at an angle till I cut the notch for it.
