  1. I keep up with most of the podcast from the Firearms Radio Network, beats the hell out of NPR!
  2. Push that button every chance you get Brother! Don't let'em send you home without Demerol at a minimum. You'll be back on the trigger in no time, Get Well Soon!
  3. Just ordered the barrel of the week from Ballistic Advantage for my lightweight build; 14.7" 5.56 Pencil Profile Mid-Length Barrel, Modern Series, $128 shipped. http://ballisticadvantage.com/14-5-inch-556-pencil-mid-length-cmv-modern-barrel.html?utm_source=Ballistic+Advantage+Retail+Newsletter&utm_campaign=e47b0d2d9a-BOTW-120715-RETAIL&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_fcc15dde42-e47b0d2d9a-84690881&mc_cid=e47b0d2d9a&mc_eid=f74be8fe57
  4. I've had more issues with bolt/ nut style mounts loosening than the latches on my ADM mounts, never had an ADM latch come loose and they don't gouge the rail like LaRue's and ARMS. The Burris PEPR QD mount I tried was a different story, they constantly came loose or the locking mechanism broke. Burris would replace them so the last time they sent a new mount I sold it without trying them again.
  5. ....and Turkey has basically told the Iraqis to shut up they need the help. The drum beat quickens.............
  6. Hope to get it all put together and zeroed next weekend. I'm liking the tactical latches, lots of meat to get ahold of compared to the standard ones. FDE looks more like a bronze without the shine.
  7. Just finished packing the P716 for her second trip back to the mothership; Do you suppose they will figure out it is an ejection issue? Wrapped the same notes around the weapon itself so they will have to rip the paper to check the weapon.....
  8. I checked 20 rounds and found most right at 2.800 OACL. The shortest was 2.7925 and the longest was 2.8035. I found someone referencing the BC in this article but but can't vouch for how reliable the info is; http://fnforum.net/forums/fn-scar-17s/18388-ammunition-optimized-mk-17-scar-h.html
  9. Welcome from Iowa!
  10. I hate the way they use all these different names like Buku Hairball for the same enemy , Islam.......obviously radical so I'm not even sure that needs to be added anymore.
  11. The Slash HB functioned great in my AR-10, wish I'd have gotten one a long time ago now. Ran it on M-80 ball, Pakistani surplus, and 175 FGMM, can't say the recoil had been an issue for me but I did notice there was less movement off target for faster follow up.
  12. Ed is good to go as usual! ...............as long as he gets that trigger tried out for us ;-)LOL
  13. Buffer arrived, all in good order and with the coozy! Thanks Ed, much appreciated....now to go slog in the mud and see how well it works.
  14. As Sisco found above the bullet cost is usually between 25-30 cents, problem is availability is sporadic with most being pulled bullets. I have not worked with the Hornady or the Barnes but the MK 319 has been very accurate from all my 308AR's. Price wise the SST cost about the same but doesn't have the barrier blind aspect or the solid copper penetrator. The TTSX costs more for the bullet than a loaded MK319 round. My advice, get a 1,000 rounds of MK319 when you see a good price.
  15. Skip the tattoo and buy the trigger.............
  16. Hitting 3,000 rounds without one glitch, that is Armalite love! With my Ethel being so faithful I can't help but be true to her;-) I flirt some but Armalite will always be my first love.........
  17. Better put a reminder on your calendar......;)
  18. Wow! I'll have to check mine, they are all 20 years old or more so I'm hoping this is a modern issue.................
  19. But Ed, that's what the rule is for, you get one and then clear up all those ambiguities on the website for us........took my bite of the rule with my X caliber purchase.
  20. Welcome from Iowa! I have to say get the Armalite, you will have a bit easier time with aftermarket parts than you will with the RRA. That said they are both fine rifles so you'll be good either way as far as reliability and accuracy.
  21. Needed a good QD mount to put one of my Bushnell 1-6.5x's on my Matrix build, got the new Tac levers, hope they don't hang to low. 10% off at ADM with free shipping;
  22. Looks like my job will be taking me to Boone, NC sometime in the middle of January. Should be there till the middle of summer. Hope there are some public ranges nearby!
  23. I've got clamped, set screws, and pinned. Never had an issue with any of them and I don't baby anything. I think Robo hit the deciding factor for me, if the barrel has a dimple I'm going with the set screw for the clean look. Without a dimple and I'm getting the clamp style just because I haven't spent the money on a jig yet, even though they are pretty cheap; http://slrrifleworks.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=57_129
  24. I have 2 MK 25's and a PM400 that have never missed a beat, don't clean them, shoot crap ammo, shoot at 17 below or 100 degrees and they just keep running. This P716 is turning into the same problem my P938 has been, 3 times they have had the 938 back and told me it was fixed and "in spec". I truly have a love it or hate it relationship with Sig..............
