I do best when I use my off hand to manipulate the rear bag.

Don't remember how I ran across this new paracord but had to put a bundle in my travel kit. I think I will have @beachmaster make a Baldric sling out of this reflective orange for use at work. This version has a reflective strand and three glow in the dark strands in the outer case. A 30 AWG brass wire for use as a conductor or as they suggest a snare, 25 lb test fishing line, and some wax jute for fire tinder. Expensive at around 25 cents a foot but with all the capabilities you cant really compare it to standard 550 cord, this is rated at >620. The only real difference from standard 550 cord I noticed is the wire adds a touch of stiffness and allows it to hold a bend to some degree, run it between your fingers and it straightens right out, no memory from the bend. They have a 10% former and active duty military discount. http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2015/05/what-makes-an-ar-accurate-whitley-offers-answers/ Just noticed they have an even tougher version that has braided fishing line and a Kevlar strand rated at >1000! Still think I like the idea of having that wire in there. https://www.titansurvival.com/collections/patented-survivorcord-xt/products/survivorcord-xt-black

Lane's: jtallen83 inspired 21.750" 300 AAC Blackouts

That was the jist of the articles statement. I think this is the article I remember reading; http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2015/05/what-makes-an-ar-accurate-whitley-offers-answers/ -

There was an article posted here recently about AR accuracy that mentioned a difference in upper strength making a difference in accuracy but it didn't call out any particular brand. Just said some are machining away too much material for lightness. I doubt you could go wrong with Armalite uppers. -
Problem finding buffer tube for an adjustable stock
jtallen83 replied to GlennD's topic in General Discussion
True that! Used to be Armalite would call them on it but that ended years ago now, strictly buyer beware these days. I had just finished sending Odin Works an email asking them why they called their new buffer an "AR-10" carbine buffer when it is an LR308 carbine buffer, one of the parts that causes the most issues for people. -
Welcome from Iowa, via Missouri!

More east coast brew, Mango Cream Pop DIPA from Decadent Ales, brewed and canned by Dorchester Brewing Co. Boston Mass. They nailed the mango cream pop! I smell a little sweet vanilla and citrus. The creamy mango is right up front, sweet tropical fruit flavors abound. The sugar level is high but so is the level of hops so it balances out fine. The mango/cream sickle flavor comes on even stronger as the beer warms. I want to chug it down but just take small sips to savor more flavor, fuk'n outstanding!

I recommend being very careful with any modifications to AR pistol braces. Once you go outside the manufacturers original design you are on your own with the ATF.

Curious who made the barrels, I recently acquired an older Armalite NM upper, thing shoots lights out!

Jesus, you mean people really eat that stuff? I thought it was just a garnish.

Welcome from Iowa! Eliminate all your possible buffer system issues with one known to function kit; https://www.armalite.com/product/ar10rekit01-6-position-receiver-extension-kit/ Shows in stock now but don't hesitate, they sell out fast regularly!

The schedule is pretty tight until tomorrow night and I couldn't ask anyone to drive in this traffic unless it's an emergency, fuk'n nightmare just getting across the street! Be at the Sheraton Baltimore North till early Friday morning, looks like Sterling VA. for next years "seminar". Drinking a Double Duckpin from Union Craft Brewing Baltimore Maryland. Old school IPA with a citrusy aroma. Taste is very malty with Piney dankness from the hops. Smooth drinking with no real bitter at the end.

What are the odds they shared all their information with their competition, slim to none I think. Not that I won't be very interested in your results but you will have a pretty small sample size and it doesn't sound like you can replicate the environmental conditions. I have always been curious how the receiver and the extension on AR's would change resonance of the same length barrel. X-Caliber makes custom barrels, might be worth calling, just don't mention 308AR.com they got roasted here!

Do you have a better source with more in depth testing? The rifles and shooters that did show up there had already done hundreds if not thousands of hours of testing. Some of the worlds best shooters using rifles built by the some of the worlds best gunsmiths shooting in as close to perfect conditions as possible.....but alas there is no spreadsheet full of data that can be analyzed so it must not be authentic. Please do the shooting world a favor and bust this myth.

Some call it practice.

I vote 21 3/4 inch. "But no bit of information was, Virgil believes, more valuable than a little advice Jim Gilmore passed along. Jim said a barrel MUST be 21 3/4” long for optimum accuracy. That precise length, he stated, sets up a vibration pattern that duplicates well from shot to shot. Virgil faithfully followed that advice on his guns. On tap at the Towson Sheraton, Snake Dog IPA from Flying Dog Brewery in Maryland. It reminds me of Miller High Life. A little weak and malty. Guess I am in @Rsquared backyard

Pictures of it on the rifle are required you know. ?

I may have started a thread on it, can’t remember

Double Toasted Marshmallow from Decadent Ales, brewed and canned by Dorchester Brewing Co. Boston Mass . Yep, toasted marshmallow on the nose and in the taste, odd as hell but the up front marshmallow taste is of the fresh out of the bag flavor while the lingering taste in the end is of the toasted on a stick over the fire flavor. There is plenty of sweet but a bit of hops citrus flavor to lighten it up some. The vanilla is there start to finish like the sweetness, both come up as the beer warms. These guys are some mad scientists of flavor, using schit like turbinado, muscovado, and coconut sugars, stupid money for a stupid sounding beer, well call me stupid cause I'll buy it again if I see it!

Hell yes! All kinds of flavors, lots of almond/vanilla and bready stuff. Good sweet toffee maybe black licorice? Touch of smoke and that boozy flavor in the background, enough ABV to give your tummy that warm feeling.

Neighbor kid I babysat for builds and shoots rifles for competition in the Army, haven't seen him for years now but I know he could answer since he has built them. If I can find his sister maybe I can get in touch, MSG Michael Hester in one of the last pictures. Little bastard always had an eye, he was lethal in snowball and apple fights! https://thecmp.org/anticipated-long-range-national-matches-return-met-with-success-in-2018/
