  1. LaRue MBT gets the nod from me. A search here will yield loads of first hand info.

    Grilling

Really enjoying this riverside rental I'm in, set up to be a high end vacation home and all new since a 2017 flood. Rarely have a place to grill when I'm on the road so I have been taking advantage of it regularly, Iowa chops and zucchini today.
  3. Supa Sumo Double India Pale Ale by Toppling Goliath of Dechora, Iowa. Figured Supa Sumo was appropriate for Super bowl Sunday, first taste tells me it's appropriate for ANY day! Has that citrus and pineapple aroma with a hint of mango. Taste follows with a tangerine and pineapple followed by that tropical melon flavor, mango, maybe a touch of sweet lime. Sweet but not sticky sweet, a touch of pine bitter but only a hint. A very deep, complex flavor profile. Has a thicker juice like feel in the mouth with light carbonation and that oily feel left behind. This schit is ambrosia if you enjoy hops!
  4. Wonder how that works, rep made it sound like they were making their BCG's in house now. Said other than springs and a few smalls they were doing everything in house to avoid production delays. Either way it is nice to have supplies of BCG's ready on hand and cheap compared to just a couple years ago!
  5. Nothing looks very inviting to me; https://www.ata.org/managing-your-tinnitus/treatment-options/drug-therapies
  6. Fixed mine even when they were told in no uncertain terms it was a user issue that caused the strike. Heard them on a podcast say they will fix stupid once. That kind of service, and the fact that I have nearly $1,000 wrapped up in compatible muzzle devices, will keep me an AAC customer.
  7. It certainly does! Ringing started for me in the service but 30 years of construction has added to it. I need to have some sort of noise going all the time, sleep with the tv on, always have the radio or a podcast playing in the car or that ringing drives me nuts. Doctor keeps recommending a pill but the idea of a pill messing with the little hearing I have left spooks me.
  8. I subscribed to the Acme emails now, the rails are stupid cheap! Heard the Aero rep say they make Brownells BCG's so figured I would get top notch there as well as it being cheaper than the Toolcraft. He didn't actually use those words but pretty much said it.
  9. figures, I just stocked up for the next several builds..........
  10. For a two stage trigger the LaRue MBT is hands down the best bang for the buck.
  11. Just remember Nib is a coating, Nitride/QPQ is a process that changes the metal surface. I have had flaking issues and a stuck ejector with Nib but never seen an issue with nitride, just as easy to clean as Nib from what I have seen.
  12. Hard to get any cheaper and they back their products. https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/bolt-parts/bolt-carrier-parts/bolt-carriers/308ar-bolt-carrier-group-nitride-mp-prod105380.aspx?avs|Special-Filters_1=Salezz1zzClearance

  14. Many don't see these as shooting related but in reality everyone should have an IFAK with them when shooting or hunting. I don't wear a belt and have my overall pockets full enough already so to EDC a medical kit ankle carry seemed like a good option. I have carried this Dark Angel Medical ankle kit every day since just before Christmas. At first it was a little irritating, no blisters just annoyingly there, now I don't even notice it. It has never came off while I trudge through the woods, nothing lost or damaged. It comes equipped with 1 package of Hemostatic Gauze (QuikClot is what I got), 1 Pair of Nitrile Gloves,1 H&H Mini Compression Bandage, 1 Pair of Hyfin Vent Compact Chest Seals, and 1 Tourniquet (CAT Gen 7). I substituted a R.A.T.S. tourniquet for the C.A.T. Added a decompression needle and a pair of small trauma shears. In tennis shoes the Velcro has a large lap in it and in boots only about half of it is engaged but again, neither way has seen any issues with it coming loose. I have washed the case once due to getting it muddy, no loose threads or shrinkage. When warmer weather hits I will carry it rolled up in the cargo pocket of my shorts. Hope to never have the opportunity to review any of the products it contains, I will update in six months and a year on how things hold up. http://darkangelmedical.com/ankle-kit-trauma-kit/

Yep! No doubt the climate changes, pretty obvious since we have went from fireball to ice ball in the past, the past before humans...... The wolf criers give way to much credit to human impact, still haven't seen convincing science that it is on us if it warms up a bit. They throw out little blurbs about things we do that warm the earth but ignore the fact that there have been single volcanic eruptions that put more greenhouse gasses into the environment than all of mankind. I say ban volcanic eruptions before you trash the economy chasing your tail in hopes of feeling good about yourselves. Remember the cry's of a coming ice age, remember the hole in the ozone? All bullshart!
  16. Armalite has those as well. https://www.armalite.com/product/emk012-m15-field-repair-kit/ https://www.armalite.com/product/ek010-m15-spring-replacement-kit/
  17. Love my Armalite springs, never let me down. Everything in their spare parts kits is top shelf.
  18. Just got notice my MBT ordered on December 30 has shipped, time to order another.
  19. Got two last month, headspaced good in an Armalite and SIG barrel. Nice fit and finish, smooth and shiny.

Where the hell are people going to go on their snowmobiles then ?!?

  23. No doubt there would still be the violent types but at least police efforts could be focused on those douche bags and not the casual users. The treatment/educational parts of the drug war could focus on the youngsters instead of the repeat offenders that jam the treatment centers for the purpose of getting some slack when they go to court. Whatever we do we have to do something different. The current system puts Officers in jeopardy on the street, adds a level of violence to our streets that would not be there without the criminalization, and enriches the corporate jails and treatment centers that have been long proven not to work. Just let Darwin do his thing.
  24. The split pins break on me pretty regular, maybe a little ham fisted inserting them. There is a reason they went to the cotter pin early on.
