Yeah. My company just got bought out about 6 weeks ago (ish). A much larger (corporate) outfit is who bought us out.
I've been with the company pretty much since the owner started it back in 08. He started it literally on 1 January of 2008. Followed shortly by hiring my son (who a number of you know), only to bring me onboard a few months later (somewhere around April of 08) once the business could "afford" me.
I'm not the type to ever complain about Christmas bonuses. I've always been of the mindset, that they're exactly what they're called......a bonus. Not a guarantee. Traditionally, through the years, I've always been taken care of pretty good. The owner always acknowledged that he knew that without a guy like me, back at the beginning, that his company wouldn't be where it's at. Over the years I've gotten accustomed to, but still never expected, a Christmas bonus that has grown upward to almost 4 grand.
This year? I just got a Yeti mug and a 200 dollar gift card. (Merry Christmas Fuker).
Part of me still stands by my original theory that I've had throughout my entire working career. The other part? Well....let's just say that THAT part was kind of insulted, and threw them both in the fukin trash.
